maybe i’m overestimating my abilities but i’m heavily considering captioning this great comet bootleg myself just so my grandma can watch it
there’s a lot of blatant misogyny in the epilogue, but then there’s also subtle things like natasha’s new dynamics with her family. she interacts with few people outside of the household at all anymore, but she’s really only friends with marya (seemingly because they’re both mothers), her friendship with nikolai has almost completely deteriorated (as if they can’t relate on any level anymore), and we barely see her interact with sonya. it’s unsettling to me to say the least.

i’ve seen so many ppl imply that marya and nikolai got married before pierre and natasha that i started to doubt myself but i fact checked and they definitely did not… why do people always switch it 😭

this may be an insane take but i really don’t think anatoly ever had any intention of actually formally divorcing svetlana even if he could’ve. this may just be part of my subconscious vendetta against him but i also just think that he needs her despite how awfully he treats her.

how do you guys feel about 2007 war and peace having denisov and sonya end up together cuz i think it’s so funny. the ending as a whole is so silly though they really wanted it wrapped up in a little bow.
the way the great comet is structured makes me think so much even though i know you’re meant to just accept that it’s different. im sorry i cannot do that. pierre says “i should visit, i hear she is more beautiful than ever” and all i can think about is how he saw her last week.
has anyone else noticed that while in the pit pierre watches natasha much more consistently than any other character who passes him? i might be seeing nothing but i really wonder if that’s on purpose.
