if you don’t know the difference between a hare and a rabbit you’ve never gazed into the cold wild eyes of a hare and known that if it could speak it would speak backwards

Midoriya: We gotta draw his fire. Give him a target.
Uraraka: How?
Midoriya: You know how sometimes I have really brilliant ideas?
Uraraka: Yeah...?
Midoriya: Sorry. [jumps out and waves his arms around] Look at me! I'm a target!

Toga's last love will always be Uraraka.
using this post to (sort of) address the "heroes are just cops" argument because I see it in the reblogs. I kinda get the idea, but well. I mean, for one, this could apply to any superhero, obviously. the problem with police is that they abuse their power in service of their personal goals and ideologies, and the practical root of this problem is that they HAVE that insane amount of systemic power in the first place. and nobody's ever gonna have more power than a person with literal superpowers, regardless of whether or not that person does admittedly FEEL eerily cop-like.
at the end of the day all might is just as capable of what would be analogous to police brutality as batman or superman— and I'm no comics nerd, but out of those three, I'm pretty sure all might's the only one who HASN'T been shown doing something like that. in fact, now that I think about it, the world of my hero academia is weirdly lacking in any sort of systemic issues? eh, I'll chalk it up to anime logic and horikoshi's aversion to writing any large-scale moral dynamic that isn't so black and white it makes my dad's political takes look discerning and nuanced (and my dad is a dumbfuck """centrist""" who somehow doesn't see the cognitive dissonance in calling himself progressive while watching bill fucking maher).
at the end of the day, if I can suspend my disbelief enough to be cool with super strength and flying, I can suspend it enough to imagine that this world doesn't have a police violence problem, since horikoshi has never deigned to include anything like that in the narrative. what I can and will do, however, is criticize the fucked up shit he DID choose to portray and then NEVER FOLLOWED UP ON. like, hello? they made nagant KILL PEOPLE?? and we're expected to not question the hspc and whatever other systems of government oversee this shit??? really do hope that has some sort of resolution that doesn't make me cringe hard enough to lose teeth.
i can understand disliking most anime protags- most of them have some serious issues, but i cannot fuckin fathom disliking Izuku Midoriya
