Speaking of sharpie tattoos, the way Gerard and Lyn Z used them to write messages back and forth to each other on tour is adorable <3 I had heard that the lyrics to Summertime came out of this exchange, but it’s super cool to actually see pictures of it.

I wonder if there’s a story behind the unicorn shirts or if they were just being funky.

Our production of Matilda opens tomorrow!! It’s been a while since I made a proper Opening Night Eve tumblr reblog, but then again, it’s been a while (like... 2 years) since I had an opening night! Actually, I realized the other day, it’s the longest I’ve gone not being involved in a play since I first got into a play in college, which sort of makes sense (given, you know, the whole pandemic) but also doesn’t make sense (because I still cannot begin to grasp the ceaseless flow of time). 

I loved this movie so much as a kid so it’s exciting to be a part of it in musical form :) It really is pretty touching with some lovely songs. It’s been quite a while since I saw the movie, so I’m having trouble remembering whether some things are different or whether I’m just forgetting them--for example, was the Russian mafia involved in the movie at all? I don’t recall them being there, but I’m playing Russian Henchman 2 in the musical! I also don’t recall the acrobat/escapologist story but those are some of the prettiest scenes in the play I think. Anyways, it’s a fun show to be in; here’s hoping we break lots of limbs tomorrow! (Which I suppose is all in a day’s work as a mafia henchman, haha ;) )

It occurred to her that such talking dragons and princesses with hair long enough to climb… such people might only exist in story books. But she was about to discover she had a strength… a strength she wasn’t even aware of.

I have decided that DJ Dr. Death Defying absolutely loves the song “the Last DJ” by Tom Petty (and he vibes with it pretty hard for obvious reasons), and in fact, Tom Petty is one of his all-time favorite artists. 

I do love this quote; it describes them so well. Their relationship is so profound and intricate and I love every moment of it, all the twists and turns of the renegade friends who went down different paths in their wanderings.

I have considered shipping them romantically, but I really just don’t see them that way. I love the idea that their friendship is even deeper and more profound than that. At the end of the day, I just want to see them travel the universe together and to continue to challenge one another morally. The Missy redemption arc stuff was probably my favorite part of 12′s run and I hope they bring the Master back soon (I mean, it’s not like they haven’t been dead before. Side note, just where is this line of being “injured too badly to regenerate”? It’s wibbly-wobbly, I guess.). Definitely one of my top BrOTPs, probably the top, actually, and one of my favorite quotes from their relationship. 

“Oh, don’t be disgusting. We’re Time Lords, not animals! Try, nano-brain, to rise above the reproductive frenzy of your noisy little food chain, and contemplate friendship“.

I love how palpable the emotion is in this drawing. You can feel Ed’s anger melting away into confusion, regret, and sadness; you can feel Oswald’s deep hurt (emotional as well as physical) but you can also feel how his love for Ed overpowers it and turns it to forgiveness. It’s like a summary of the twists and turns of their relationship all in one art piece, dark but surprisingly hopeful. It’s painful and beautiful and lovely and definitely among my favorites; this is one of those drawings I’ve just stared at for an extended period of time while listening to music. 

Here to deliver more angst. Really hope we at least get a kiss out of the disaster that is going to unfold in the next few episodes.

Mom: Why don’t you get out some cookbooks and look for a recipe? Let’s try making something different tonight.
