saw a thing recently about how callin ppl “y’all” and “folks” is becoming cringe. buddy you can pry those terms of address from my cold dead hands, they’re the only thing keeping me from calling everyone “honeybee”
WIP technically? It's not fully done so it's a wip to me.
Okay so I'm gonna post tonight when I get home and finish some homework. The actual art is done but I want to show y'all a preview of the other three because I really like what I did with them.
I couldn't not do the rest of the squad and y'all get to see a knee pad because I can't crop that rn nor do I really want to.
Next time I draw Oboro, I'm fixing his design I have for him because it's not vibing right for me. Like he looks good, it's just that I don't have him down all the way imo 😅
I'm about to become insufferable (I'm writing up my HCs for EMic family dynamics).
Heads up to those that don't know: Hitoshi both does and doesn't live with Shōta and Hizashi because in my brain, he lives with some family members! He lives with his uncle, aunt and four cousins in which his family is known for having varying types of emitter quirks! The only one that doesn't have an emitter is the "technical" second oldest cousin, she was adopted and has a transformation quirk.
I'll add names and quirks in another post but to give the jist (I haven't posted this to Twitter yet, heads up anyone who follows me there) his parents did pass away in an accident and that's why he lives with his uncle and aunt instead of his parents or in the foster system.
So his dynamic works as his dad's older brother is taking care of him with his wife and he helps take care of some of the younger kids when they can't. It's not a requirement, he doesn't get hurt physically but he does have a hard time as he along with his older cousin have to take care of three other family members.
I'm also drawing out the family trees for Aizawa, Yamada and Shinsō family lineages specifically. If anyone wonders, Eri does also stay with EMic but she is also taken care of by other members of staff when they can't fulfill duties as parents because, y'know, Hizashi has three jobs and Shōta is sometimes very busy.
Anyway I'll expand on a lot of this in another post because I'm about to ramble too much. I love their family dynamic and other stuff dearly!!
WIP. Don't visit your reanimated first friend/crush in an interrogation facility kids!
I'm writing my headcanons for Hizashi and Shōta individually because I am going way too in-depth with Hizashi's to just put them both together in one post. They both mean so much to me like y'all have no idea I can't even put it into words-
Villains AU where everyone lives and can be happy (not featured but is very much alive: Nemuri)
Under the cut in the pose reference I used!
I'm also gonna add real quick (I accidentally posted before adding this):
I think this really does play into his response when he beats up Kurogiri/Oboro. Like he's letting it out in what many people may think is unhealthy but he's probably felt like this for a long ass time. He's been bottling things up, drinking a lot and trying to get through his life without needing to talk about it and when he did talk about things? It wasn't with the only person he now has left at the end of the main manga.
He preserved Shōta's feelings and memories and took the brunt of it like he did back when they were second years. It's not to say that I'm going to place blame anywhere but not being able to talk about this second round after the war is probably not good for his mental health. He wears a broken mask that he's again gluing back together just like he did fifteen years ago.
That being said, SOMEONE GIVE ME AN UPDATE ON HIZASHI. I care about Present Mic, okay, but I NEED TO KNOW WHATS UP WITH ZASHI PLEASE. His entire mental state collapsed twice in the span of fifteen years, he probably has a lot of trauma packed into himself too and all we have is "oh he's okay!" from Deejaying. No, that's Mic. Mic is as okay as he's gonna get, ZASHI, I want to know what's going on with him, if he's okay. If he talked to someone about something after he had to put on that front again ESPECIALLY after Nemuri passed.
Spoilers for the Vigilantes Manga specifically the School Days Arc because that's what I have to talk about with Hizashi mostly.
Alright here we go. Starting off with the screenshots from my Twitter (a portion is cut out of one because the response was from the OG just talking about how Hizashi was just a boy/kid when they lost Oboro)
(link to the og thread I qrted for this discussion below ⬇️)
Okay let's talk about this. I didn't say a lot in regard to my actual thought process but I have got to talk about it.
First of all: The way in which Hizashi is completely fucking shattered. He's partially mask off in terms of like his entire mental state being shifted into hell. He literally looks about ready to bawl his goddamn eyes out, like he's going to entirely lose himself.
He does technically lose himself, he loses more Hizashi Yamada, the loud "happy" teen with a voice quirk. It's his persona he has aside from Present Mic which I want to say at this point does in some way exist. Maybe not as we know it I'm the main manga but pretty damn close.
When I say he forced himself to glue the pieces of himself back together and "cope", I mean like he's literally gluing himself back together as he's putting back on his smile. He physically is forcing himself to be happy just for a moment. He goes into the mentality of "I need to be strong for others (Shōta), everything will be okay" when it isn't okay.
It isn't okay here and it isn't okay fifteen years later when that façade entirely crumbles again. I always bring up when I in some way write about Hizashi in general pre-timeskip, post-war that he wears a cracked mask with pieces falling off of it. He really does and this mask probably started earlier in time but ended up becoming worse once Oboro literally was dead in front of him.
He puts up the front when his world view is crumbled, shattered to pieces in front of him that he's still happy-go-lucky in a sense. It's jarring because many people in this situation would've outwardly shown how devastated they are. He starts off that way too and as everything progresses, he doesn't give himself the time of day to process what's going on and for the next fifteen years, he still doesn't give himself that.
The shock and horror we see here? Yeah he gives the same when he's faced with the horrible reality that he's losing his "friend" (Kurogiri/Oboro) again and watching it happen in real time.
Like I have so many thoughts on this y'all got no idea. This ain't even the half of it-
(spoilers below for those who haven't seen chapter 431 just in case!)
Timeskip Mic!
