yeah so,
Currently obsessed with the concept of Danny 100% being the most Violent and youngest Wayne. I'm so sorry but the writing opportunityš„¹š¤
Danny's rogues were all dead so they can't actually... Die again. Likeā not in the normal way, that is. The only way that they could die is by crushing their core.
Cue Bruce Wayne and the whole family Finding out his extremely timid and closed off son/brother (yes, being ooc is the point here stfuš) is arguably the strongest being in the universe and admitting that he has a tendency to have intrusive thoughts and horrible mood swings so he doesn't trust himself with doing the family's... 'business' (knowing damn well he could kill someone if he gets too agitated) and they're almost not convinced.
Emphasis on almost.
Once they watched as the youngest of them all completely threw down a weird eyeball (they later learn is an 'observant'), threw a green dagger right beside it, kicked it violently and threatened to gauge it's eye out and disintegrate it for interrupting their dinner.
He apologized to the family soon after the thing disappeared, back to completely timid and embarrassed.
Extra, Danny finding out about Joker:
News: Joker found dead in strange circumstances!
Bruce, turning to Danny: Danny....
Danny, who placed a bounty on Joker AND his soul in the ghost zone: *gasp* He died of strange circumstances? How unfortunate!
Danny: I didn't do anything, my hands are clean!
Bruce: *sigh* Chum...
Jason, in the background: Kid ilysm you're my favorite brother now
Larry: I figured he'd love it or hate it, y'know
Cliff: So he seems to kinda love it
Larry: He's been playing with it all day, and refuses to come back to me. Think that's good?
Cliff: What if he loves it cos plasma balls and shit are like crack to negative spirits. What if you're giving your baby hard drugs right now
Larry, falling over running to turn it off: SHITSHITSHITSH-
TBH I maintain that the funniest thing about Vox is that he IS clearly cunning and charismatic and competent, but also all of that flies out the window whenever Alastor shows up. Every single time.
I know the Vees are supposed to be the main antagonists of season two, with special focus on Vox and Alastor, but like. I have little to no faith in Vox's ability to pull himself together as soon as Alastor confronts him.
God, this is EXACTLY what I want from season 2, hahaha. I genuinely really enjoy Vox having this hilarious contrast of normally being an extremely competent and charismatic CEO type that just loses literally all of his rizz around Alastor because he's too down bad. Him being so condescending to Valentino about not chasing after Angel Dust in canon being immediately followed by Vox himself having a public meltdown on live TV just because Val mentioned that Alastor is back was peak character moment to me. "Fu-u-uck!" + QAQ at the end of Stayed Gone lives in my mind rent free.
All that said, I just sometimes feel kinda bad because I mostly write Vox in the context of Alastor and I feel like sometimes I don't do him enough justice as a result, hahaha. I promise I think he's competent! I hope he does the equivalent of stepping on a rake and slamming himself in the face with the handle every time he sees Alastor in season 2, though.
I started reading for the Ozai goes back in time idea and STAYED for the Zuko also goes back in time trope.
But I gotta say I'm disappointed in y'all. I read through this ENTIRE post and not ONE of you mentioned my girl Yue.
If we're making a time travel fix-it then there are SO MANY characters we could bring into the Gaang. The more toddlers the better.
dumb atla fanfic idea: ozai is thrown back in timeāto the time when firelord azulon still sat on the throne. when ursa had not disappeared into the arms of her lover, ikem. when he still had his bending. when the avatar had not reappeared.
when all was right with the world.
ozaiās ready to conquer the worldānine years earlier than planned, nine years before sozinās comet was set to arrive.
ā¦
what he did not expect was that the one thing standing in his way of success was his eldest sonāin the body of a five-year old.
((where ozai and zuko travel back in time and try to thwart each other in every way possible while everyoneās confused by second prince ozaiās great amount of disdain for his only son and said sonās pettiness towards his father))
I probably will now, eventually, Nobby Leach is such a blank slate that I don't feel any pressure with keeping him canon.
But Tom Riddle? Now that little shit is frustrating to keep in character. I have so many headcanons for him it's difficult to adhere them to canon. Btw definitely gonna post a new thread about those in a bit. You guys got me on a roll.
The poison-dragonpox headcanon with Abraxas is also one of my favorites. I would absolutely write that.
Its supremely unfair how under utilized Nobby Leach is in fanfic.
He's a blank slate! The 1st Muggleborn British Minister of Magic but we know very little about him personally or even the circumstances of his election.
Voldemort rose to power in the late 60s-early 70s. Leach was minister sometime between 1962-68. And Leach was supposedly threatened from returning to his position or possibly assassinated.
Do you think poor, working-class, assumed Mudblood of Slytherin Tom Riddle didn't see these shady dealings and go "Okay so taking the legal route to power won't work."
If having power was Tom's only goal then he absolutely would've taken a quicker route to it. But instead Nobby Leach's failure just proved the system was too broken to fix from the inside.
(Quick disclaimer, I think Riddle only used the blood-purity thing to get an in with the purebloods who were running the country. There are better posts that expand on this idea in detail so I'm not going to get into it too much here. Okay? Okay.)
We know so little about Leach that he could conceivably have gone to Hogwarts at the same time as Tom Riddle. Did they know eachother? That's up to you, but if they went to school together then they definitely knew OF eachother.
So here you have Nobby Leach who hit the ground running after graduation, who clawed his way to being the FIRST muggleborn Minister of Magic in a government made up of bloodpurists, and then he just...resigned? Fuck that. That doesn't fit at all.
And anyone with half a brain would've picked up on that. Tom Riddle could not have missed how uncharacteristic this would be if he knew Leach, or heck just noticed the sheer will and patience it takes to become THE Muggleborn Minister of Magic.
On that note, there might've been some sort of Muggleborn movement happening in the background following Grindelwald's defeat. After all it takes more than one person to achieve this kind of victory.
So Tom Riddle watches (or is apart of š) a fast-paced, determined movement place the FIRST Muggleborn Minister of Magic and then watches as this victory silently tumbles down into forgotten history.
Meanwhile Tom builds the Death Eaters who also work outside the system via raids and murder despite the fact that they all work inside of it already. Theres already lots to unpack with THAT decision but moving on... Once the Ministry finally gets its shit together and arrests the (clearly labeled with Dark Marks) perpetrators, throwing them in wizard prison eventually reaching the point where they would be thrown in without a trial (Sirius Black), the Pureblood lawmakers all of a sudden realize "oh fuck, this is getting real."
And now what do they have to do to avoid suspicion in this very Red Scare-esque era of spying and tattling on eachother (it worked for Karkaroff) to avoid wizard prison? Play nice with the Muggleborns.
TL;DR
Nobby Leach: went the legitimate route to making change by working WITHIN the system. He rose fast and fell silently.
Tom Riddle: went the shady route to power by working OUTSIDE the system, painstakingly working for decades to build a support base, and falling in notoriety.
There needs to be more fics with them as foils to eachother. And if it has to be me, I warn you it will take YEARS to finish.
Okay, so Iāve read a lot of these (like, a lot) and Iāve seen a lot of āDannyās friends and family die and the bats adopt himā but I havenāt really seen any where Sam, Tucker, and Jazz come back as ghosts, not even an off handed conversation explaining the possibility.
So what do I want? I want a fic that starts the same way all the others do, but when it gets to the ābats figure out the ghost stuffā I want Danny to confide in them about how confused he is because really:
Should he even be mourning if they come back as ghosts? Like in that case, itās more like they went anyway for a while and eventually came back, a little changed, but essentially thatās what happens. But just because they have a higher chance at becoming ghosts doesnāt mean that they will.
And even if they do come back, time is wonky in the infinite realms, so they could end up in any time, and it takes a while to form a ghost, so that could be 20 years from when they died. Also, we donāt really know that much about where ghosts even form and the infinite realms are not named metaphorically, so thatās another problem.
What Iām saying is, we have so much lore in this fandom and it really makes me sad that people use dead as an end-all be-all when the whole thing is literally about the afterlife. Dive into the lore, explore how emotionally confusing that would be to a boy who lost everything. Explore how he would feel, wondering if he could even grieve, if he should grieve, if he didnāt and waited and they never came back, like there are so many angst and fluff possibilities.
Okay Alastor being aro just makes radioapple infinitely more funny to me. Evil and fucked up QPR. Enemies to lovers with none of the romance or sexual tension. Just two guys who hate each other so much they have no choice but to spend the rest of their lives together.
Al's dad does the dad thing where Alastor will tell him about something he likes and his dad will say nothing, do the 'hmmm' sound, and then buy him that thing multiple times for the next several years.
Alastor, the Radio Demon: ...
His Dad: hmmm
*buys a shit ton of radios and radio equipment, a lot of them duplicates of eachother, some of it unusable*
Alastor: I already have this model.
His Dad: So? Keep it 'cause it's gonna be worth a shit ton of money when you hit retirement age!
Alastor: I- I'm over hundred years old already?!
WARNING: period-typical racism, WW1, race-based murder
I see a lot of fics where Alastor's dad is a piece of shit and abusive, but I'd love to see one where Al's dad actually loves and cares for his family but was taken from them when Alastor was too young to remember much about him.
Maybe he died as a soldier in WW1 or made it back to the US only to be killed some other way. If he was black, then those odds go way up unfortunately.
We don't know much about Al's parents but if it's still canon that he's creole, then that means at least one of his parents has black ancestry. A lot of the fics I've seen give him a black mom/white dad, but I think it would be interesting if both his parents were mixed too.
Anyway, what I'm getting at is if Al's dad was killed when he was still little, then they wouldn't recognize each other in hell now would they?
Al's dad sure does love his family, but everyone else can fuck off. And ooh boi did he earn his place in hell trying to protect them, not that heaven cared about his motives.
The second he finds out Alastor the Radio Demon is his baby boy? Hell hath no fury like a protective parent. He doesn't give a flying fuck about the atrocities Alastor has caused, that's his baby and no one is going to hurt him while he's not double-dead.
Aaand hereās my Shrunkyclunks alignment chart!Ā š
Made it for fun, and I am planning on making one for Shrinkyclinks. I originally made it for myself and lent it for use for the Shrunkyclunks Bang as promo material and also explanatory material.
And yeah, I know that technically, shrunkyclunks can also be just about esthetics, but then I tend to simply call it Twinktank (which is kind of its alternative name when Bucky is only Twink, so like⦠Modern Bucky purist? lol).
I really had lots of fun doing this one, making all of them a bit special, and keeping things dynamic, especially since I had to keep it small, do it quickā¦
Trans man Alastor who has never really worried about the possibility of getting pregnant bc a) very low interest in sexual activity in general, b) extremely minuscule pool of people he'd let touch him that way, and c) sinners aren't supposed to be able to procreate. What he and Lucifer don't know, the first time they fall in bed together, is that Lucifer, being an angel, can bypass the whole 'sinners can't have children' thing. That's how Charlie was born from Lilith, after all.
This results in a huge shit storm with the Vs trying to take advantage of Alastor's more vulnerable state, Heaven freaking out about Lucifer creating more angelic spawn in hell and potentially making demonkind even more powerful, and Alastor trying to strangle Lucifer once the test comes back positive.
