Taking A Bit Of A Break From Designing Furries And Diving Into Something I Haven’t Done Since High

A digital painting of an Earth-like planet as seen from outer space. In the background, the planet’s star and a faint blue nebula can be seen.

Taking a bit of a break from designing furries and diving into something I haven’t done since high school, space art. I would usually just manipulate photos to create such images, but I wanted to try my hand at drawing and painting instead (especially since I use Procreate now instead of Photoshop). There’s a lot of areas I know I can improve, but it was nice jumping back into an old favorite art genre of mine.

Finally Finished My Half Of The Older Frisk/Monster Kid Art With @evrgloww. It’s Not Much, But The

Finally finished my half of the older Frisk/Monster Kid art with @evrgloww. It’s not much, but the project has been helping me get back into the swing of doing digital art (and art in general). I ended up drawing up half a dozen draft sketches before settling on something that looked good, but wouldn’t break the art side of my brain.

I’m also pretty sure their version of MK is much taller than how I just drew them.

Drawings of the abstract form of the Murderbot Diaries character, ART/Perihelion. It typically looks like a black sphere with binary code on its surface, surrounded by blue rings lined with smaller black and white spheres. In the main, image ART is saying, “Do not attempt to hack my systems”.

However, its appearance changes slightly based on the situation.

In one image, ART is a black sphere, surrounded by three blue rings. Where the rings intersect is a black eye. It has four wispy blue wings and a ring of white spheres surrounding it.
This image is labeled with the text: “If it looks like this‪, RUN!‬ Or watch several weeks worth of TV with it, I guess. I mean, it’s your semi-artificial consciousness on the line.”

In another image, ART is a blue sphere with six wispy pale blue wings and a ring of dark blue circles behind its wings.
This image is labeled with the text: “Oh, so you did watch TV with it…‪Cool.”‬

‪In the image labeled “Quiet/Focused”, ART’s rings are lying flat around the main sphere with the smaller dots inside the rings.‬

‪In the image labeled “Compressed” ART is a sphere wrapped in black feathery wings. When the wings are unfurled, the sphere underneath is bright blue with binary code flowing through it.‬

‪In the image labeled “‬Number of rings varies from 1 - question mark” ART is a black sphere surrounded by four blue rings.

Some drawings of ART/Perihelion, or rather what ART looks like to other machines. ART usually takes the bottom middle form, but its appearance varies based on its mood and/or what it’s doing.

Do augmented humans see it like this too? I’m not sure yet, but right now I am leaning towards “some of them”.

Based on an ophanim (those wheel/ring angels), planetary systems, and Bohr atom models.

Bonus spoiler character from Book 5: Network Effect under the cut

Murderbot 2.0

A drawing of the Murderbot Diaries character Murderbot 2.0. It is a white sphere with turquoise binary code on its surface. It is surrounded by a segmented turquoise ring.

My ArtFight rules/preferences. My ArtFight name is SpaceDuckling. I will draw any character that catches my eye, but mostly felines, minority characters, and any where I can flex my fashion design muscles. I will only draw humans, feral animals, and anthro characters. I do both friendly fire and revenge drawings. The image also features drawings of me and several of my furry characters.

My much more proper ArtFight intro post

Drawing of a brown anthropomorphic lion with hooves peacefully sleeping atop a long pillow resembling a frosted pink donut. She is dreaming about eating a frosted donut.

I wish it weren’t so cold out today, cause I could really go for a donut from the nearest donut shop right now.

Another old drawing of Matonne (hence the streaks in her hair) that I just now spruced up.

Drawing of an anthropomorphic black and white German shepherd. He is wearing a purple suit. He has one hand in his pocket and is carrying his blazer over his shoulder.

Art fight attack for Vineuioe. I don’t think I’ve ever drawn a proper formal suit. Least not the kind you would wear to an office job. It was a fun challenge drawing this guy.

Been Seeing A Lot Of Moodboard-inspired Furry Character Designs Floating Around, So I Thought I’d Take

Been seeing a lot of moodboard-inspired furry character designs floating around, so I thought I’d take a stab at it. This was initially supposed to just be a colored sketch based on a bunch on whatever rainbow-y photos I found interesting, but ended becoming something way more polished. I’m pretty surprised with myself.

Photo credits listed under the cut

[Image Description: Drawing of an anthropomorphic brown cat. The cat is wearing a white t-shirt, rainbow flannel, jeans, and glasses. They are holding a book to their chest in one hand, a mug in the other, and a backpack on their back.

[To the right of the cat is a mood-board featuring photos of various rainbow objects. Above the mood-board is the bio of the cat with the following information:

[Name: Andi Orientation: Pan Gender: Genderfluid Pronouns: They/Them Age: 20

[College student studying sequential art Breakfast is just their excuse to have chocolate Loves soft rock music Had a dragon phase in middle school Addicted to thrift stores

Reference drawing on a fat humanoid dog. She is mostly white with gray and red hair, tail, and spots on her back. She wears round glasses and a blue flowy blouse and ruffled shorts. The image also displays the following info about her:

Name: Flora Monroe
Pronouns: She/Her
Species: 1/8 Gray Wolf, 7/8 Dog
Occupation: Librarian
Birth Year: 1998
Height: 6 feet, 2 inches
Gender: Female
Orientation: Straight

Yet another gal to fill out the furry universe Matonne inhabits. Hopefully I can get these out quicker and then start doing some real art with all these guys.

A drawing of a blue sphere named ART with feathery blue wings, three blue rings wrapped around it, and an eye where the rings cross. It is staring down at a tiny turquoise cyborg, Murderbot, both floating through the white expanse they are within. Surrounding them is a ring of circles, all in blue.

Artificial Condition - Murderbot

Under the cut are clues to what everything means.

Not all of these are references, but a lot of them are.

If something has a unit next to it, convert it to one you’re more familiar with.

The coordinates and cargo amounts are Dewey Decimal.

Those seemingly random pairs of numbers and letters are text converted to hexadecimal.

The binary means nothing.

If you don’t know what an image is, it’s probably related to quantum mechanics.
