sometimes I wonder why y'all are obsessed with specific characters and I'm like "why them" but then I remember that sometimes its literally not your choice you just look at them wrong and all of a sudden they're taking up your every thought forever
It’s kinda telling that out of that whole post about fandom etiquette and letting people enjoy things, the only part you chose to respond to was “if you’re homophobic just say so,” like that was the biggest issue—while completely ignoring the part about how people ruin others’ fun by pushing their standards or negativity into spaces where folks are just vibing.
Nobody said “you have to like bkdk or you’re homophobic.” The point was: if your dislike is rooted in double standards or discomfort with queerness, just own it. There’s a difference between “not vibing with a ship” and making snide comments, overanalyzing it to death, or dismissing queer dynamics as “toxic” while letting the same thing slide in straight ships.
It’s wild to pretend bkdk shippers “only say ur homophobic” when most are just exhausted from defending their enjoyment of a ship that constantly gets singled out because it’s two guys with a complex dynamic. You can dislike yaoi or yuri tropes, sure, but if that dislike only comes up when it’s queer ships and you give every straight trope a pass, maybe there is something deeper going on.
Also… weird how the whole message about letting people have fun and not pushing standards didn’t get a peep from you. Makes it feel like the real goal was just to stir something instead of making a valid counterpoint.
It’s honestly exhausting how much hate this ship gets. Like—bkdk isn’t even canon, and yet people act like it’s a threat to their entire worldview. The amount of discourse, nitpicking, and obsession some folks have with discrediting or tearing it down is wild. And when someone finally says, “hey, if your dislike is rooted in homophobia, just say that,” suddenly that’s the issue? Not the constant passive-aggressive comments, not the double standards, not the targeted hate—just that one sentence? Yeah, okay.
The original post wasn’t even aggressive. It was literally just: “stop ruining people’s fun by forcing your standards onto them.” And instead of engaging with that very valid point about fandom behavior, you laser-focused on one line and made a generalized statement about all bkdk shippers like that proves something.
It’s not about whether someone likes the ship or not—it’s about how people treat others for liking it. The hate isn’t just “I don’t like this ship,” it’s full-on essays, weird psychoanalysis, constant accusations of fetishizing, toxicity, or being delusional. And the fact that this only happens with queer ships like bkdk (and not, say, ships with the exact same rival dynamic but straight) says a lot.
Disliking yaoi/yuri tropes is fine. Preferring different ships is fine. But if your “criticism” is indistinguishable from what queerphobic people say, maybe that’s something worth sitting with instead of trying to make it a bkdk shipper problem.
Edit: I could also add so many ships that have been discriminated just because they are two dudes
Sonic obliviousness is mostly harmless... Until mixed with Omega's blatant honestly
Blessing everyone with Izuku looking at Ochaco. The subtle look he gives her makes me confident that he does have feelings for her and the ship is mutual.
Tenkoooo....

As someone who plays volleyball AND watches Haikyuu I can agree with this 👍
sort of a mha x haikyuu au (just boys, girls will be a separate post!)
• Midoriya Izuku - Wing Spiker
Midoriya is actually around the same height as Hinata! I think similar to him, Midoriya would want to be a great player despite his height! I don’t see him as a middle blocker like Hinata though, or a libero which would be more fitting for his height. Those are primarily defensive positions and Midoriya is a pretty offensive fighter. I mean, his main move is literally called smash. I can see him smashing balls over the net with a killer spike. He’s a good blocker, just better at spiking. His serves need work but he’s good at receiving! He’s fast, like stupid fast. He analyzes the other team and tries to find their weaknesses. Extremely accident prone and gets injured during games because he’s constantly putting 120% into everything he does. Vice captain but prefers to let Iida run things. He will stay after practice and help out anyone who needs it!
• Bakugou Katsuki - Wing Spiker
It’s Bakugou, he would be the whole package. His spike and serve are the highlight though. Naturally competes with Midoriya since they play the same position. His only weakness is teamwork. He struggles to remember that he has to actually work as a team or they’ll lose. He’s good at receiving, but doesn’t like to. Would rather his teammates receive so he can spike the shit out of the ball. Everyone covers their heads when he serves because he puts so much power behind it that it can be hard to control. He wouldn’t be caught dead playing any other position.
• Todoroki Shouto - Setter
I can just see him as a setter. Todoroki tends to fight with more long range attacks. He’s calculated and is good at formulating the perfect set for each of his teammates. Keeping with his character, his dad is a famous volleyball player who trained him. His dad would want him to be a wing spiker and Todoroki originally played setter to spite him. Todoroki ended up actually liking the position. His favorite person to set to is Midoriya because he’s reliable. Initially had trouble syncing up with Bakugou but after a lot of practice, they become unstoppable. He also has a crazy good jump floater serve. His big weakness is receiving, but he’s a great blocker. Loves a good setter dump just to show off.
• Kirishima Ejirio - Middle Blocker
He would be an impenetrable wall, a defensive all star. He’s great at receiving as well. He’s not the best spiker and his serves are his major weakness. Kirishima sometimes would get too in his head during games and struggles with imposter syndrome. He’s a great teammate though and knows just how to cheer everyone up! Amazing at boosting morale during rough games. He likes to know that he’s supporting his teammates with his blocks and receives. Frequently stays after practice to block Bakugou’s spikes. In turn, Bakugou helps Kirishima with his serves.
• Iida Tenya - Middle Blocker
Iida would also be incredible defensively. Like Kirishima, he loves supporting his teammates with blocks and receives. Great at serving. He’s crazy fast and has amazing reflexes. He’s taller compared to the rest of class A (5’10) and uses his height to his advantage. Comes from a family of volleyball players. Team captain and runs practices like it’s the army. He loves volleyball and has a great amount of respect for the sport itself.
this is getting really long so I’m going to do a part 2!
WEAVE!
(I’m dodging)
Bonus: Catsuki
Rei: Years ago, I said something really stupid that ruined my life.
Shoto: What was it?
Rei: “I do.”
