Okay So, I Have A DID Associated Question, However I Think A Little Bit Of Context Is Necessary.

i like working at plant store. sometimes you ring up someone and there's a slug on their plant and so you're like "Oh haha you've got a friend there let me get that for you" and you put the slug on your hand for safekeeping but then its really busy and you dont have time to take the slug outside before the next customer in line so you just have a slug chilling on your hand for 15 minutes. really makes you feel at peace with nature. also it means sometimes i get to say my favorite line which is "would you like this free slug with your purchase"

If you're someone who sells something with essential/herbal oils in it, and the only thing that is letting onto the fact that you're selling something with essential/herbal oils in it is a little lable of "includes other essential/herbal oils" WITHOUT SAYING WHICH ONES

And by that, i mean like, on the front of the box, where everyone looks. Like, i assume you have to put all the oils you use in the ingredient list of course, but like, who really reads those? (I say this disregarding the people who to check due to medical issues or preferences and the people who go to the restroom without their phone and decide to read the nearest object's labels because those are the only two times/circumstances i can see people actually reading ingredient lists)

Because i assume that i am NOT the only person who just goes "oh, this looks cool. Loving the art on it. Ill get it and see how badly it fucks up my skin/body!"

Review of some anti-Tony comments from Ao3. Part 7

Today I’m reviewing only one scene - with Peter and Tony from Spider-Man: Homecoming. I'm laughing so hard at the statement I’m going to review that I can’t write more.

“He then humiliates him by taking away the suit for Tony's own mistake, forcing him to dig through a dumpster for clothing, then walking home alone, disheartened.”

“forcing him to dig through a dumpster for clothing” – excuse me, what?

Peter is wearing perfectly clean white t-shirt “I survived my trip to NYC” (SMH 1:22:05), which is in Tony’s style and it is also oversized, that gives us some clues that it was Tony’s t-shirt, and it certainly wasn't in the dumpster before Peter put it on (we can see this t-shirt later in SMNWH btw). Also, these fancy Hello Kitty PJ pants – 100% Tony’s work.

This is not the only time Peter wears something that belonged to Stark family. At the end of the movie we see him in “I lost an electron” t-shirt (SMH 1:58:50), which we already saw in Iron Man 3 on Pepper (IM3 0:23:10).

I fucking hate that the general response to RFK Jr's eugenist take on autistic people is "autistic people do pay taxes, autistic people do work, autistic people do date!"

Some autistic people don't and that shouldn't make them less worthy of life. Some autistic people do need constant help and support and that shouldn't make them less worthy of life.

Once again we're falling in the right wing trap of :

They make a hateful, fascist statement

Instead of focusing on the fact that it is hateful and fascist we try to show them that they are factually wrong

We throw our own allies and the most vulnerable of us under the bus in the process

We legitimise an only slightly less hateful, fascist view as we go

They have completed their goal of making us accept the still hateful, fascist second version, hurrah. What a victory.

Right now what we're getting to with that is that autistic people who can work and pay taxes are okay, and the others aren't. Fuck this shit.

Same thing happens with the people who are being deported ("they have a visa!", "they didn't even have a criminal record!" -> even if they didn't have a visa, even if they did have a criminal record, deporting them and detaining them in what's essentially a concentration camp wouldn't be okay, you absolute tools of fascism.)

Being a ranger I spend a lot of time alone in the wilderness for hours in the company of one of four co workers.

One such worker for the purpose of this post we shall refer to as Dave.

Dave is a very quiet man. He confesses that if conversation happens too quickly and for too long he gets tired so we often work in silence. He's very polite and good natured but it's obvious that he would happily live and work alone for the rest of his life given the option.

He's very much in the previous generation of ranger, a practical man in his fourties or fifties happy to be kept physically busy for a day and then be sent home with some pay. I had to show him how to use a work issued smart phone.

Meanwhile the rest of the team is made up of the current generation of rangers; openly nurodivergent queer women in their twenties or thirties who work this job because it's the only setting where we can vaguely look sane.

So Dave sticks out a bit. It's really nice when he opens up though because he's an impulsive individual when left to his own devices and has plenty of stories to tell if the mood takes him. I really like working with Dave.

Anyway, one day we've got a job that takes a three hour hike to get to and early on the topic of deer comes up.

I hadn't realised this was the first time we had discussed deer, but blatantly it was. Dave's entire demeanour changes, there's a bit of passion in his voice, but it's also hushed as if he's talking about something sacred.

"Deer are my favourite animal." He says.

I'm also eager to hear Dave talk about himself, so I encourage him to say more.

"I'd love to be a deer myself."

And more

"If a genie offered me the opportunity to become a deer I'd take it. I wouldn't even stop to ask what the price was."

And more

"Sometimes I feel like I'm a deer having a dream about being a human.*

And there I am, a long time commuter to the therian/otherkin community keeping up the encouraging face of someone being politely interested, knowing that this man is straight up a therian with no frame of reference.

And I decided that I wouldn't push the subject outside of the bounds of what Dave is comfortable with, I wouldn't try to teach him the terms "Therian" or "Otherkin" but absolutely I would talk with this man as if he's a deer.

And it's a bit magical really. He's an impulsive individual so I have to talk him out of some risky choices every so often and "this is why deer like you keep getting stuck in fences" has become this magical phrase that allows him to step down from a mistake with a bit of a smile on his face.

we need to slow down a little I'm so serious. all these quick short videos on tiktok, ig reels, and youtube, artists releasing quick little songs for the trend, tv shows releasing episodes at once, people using chat gpt and google ai overview because they get answers quickly but no validation done for the source, we need to sloww downn i really do not think our brains should be running this fast

Okay can i be honest here? I really hate it when people say this. Some do. Very few. I got one of the very few. My managers son is a straight trans man, and is one of the craziest, kindest ladies I've ever met.

I work at a ren faire, and in my first year, i didnt have any garb to wear that wasnt fem (im trans masc) so when i got the company provided uniforms (they were trash) my manager noticed i didnt have a belt. What did she do? Asked her son who previously worked the faire if i could borrow a belt. She came back with a belt and said "here, my son said you can keep it, he doesn't use his stuff much any more :)"

And this belt has been my day to day belt every day since then. That was 3 years ago.

Another instance was relatively recently, where i had my sr prom. I didnt have anything masc to wear. So what did she do? Asked her son if he'd be alright with me borrowing his clothes, and he was. I ended up being able to find everything i wanted through thrifting. Her son even wants to go thrufting some time!

And if i see ANYTHING saying the ren faire isnt a real job because it's only during the weekend or some other bs BECAUSE IT IS and i would claw my way through for that statement and my manager and her son and my whole work team because theyre all so lovely and nice.
