The Bad Batch and Out in the Rain (TBB x GN!Reader)

Summary: The Batch each have different experiences with the rain.

Warnings: Little bit of angst with Tech's.

Hunter

For Hunter, storms and rain can cause a plethora of problems. He senses when bad weather is nearing, and depending on the severity, it can irritate him. On Kamino, he had his brothers to help him, and as soon as you notice his discomfort, you’re there for him too. He feels electricity in the air and so he’s usually clocked some shelter along the way that you can duck into the moment the first few drops fall. On the occasions where there is no shelter, he finds something to cover you with to ensure you stay as dry as possible. 

The first time you both got caught out in the rain, he had seemed on edge. His hand in yours tightened a little and his jaw stiffened. It wasn’t until the dark clouds rushed in and unleashed a torrent of rain that you realised he’d sensed the storm. He hurried you under the awning of a closed-down shop, safe from the pelting raindrops. After a bit of fussing, you took his hands in yours, brushed your thumbs across his knuckles, and encouraged a calm into the anxious jitters alight in his senses. Luckily, a lull in the downpour appeared, but as you rushed home, you ended up caught in the second wave of rain. Hunter navigated you through it to your shared house and set about running a bath for you both, sinking into the warm water to soothe the chill in your bones and settle his anxiety.

Echo

Mostly, Echo finds rain comforting if he can listen to the pitter-patter from inside a building or on his ship. Being caught out in it is another matter entirely. A downpour limits his vision, impedes any travel, and tactically, it raises a lot of problems. Being the soldier he is, he’s more than prepared for turns in weather, but it causes more issues for him now than it did before the explosion.

Considering the sun had graced you all day, and the weather promised to be temperate, the abrupt surge of rain came as a surprise to both yourself and Echo as you travelled back to the ship with important supplies. With no cover and your vision reduced in the deluge, he huddled you close and searched for some sort of shelter to wait out the worst. Out in an open field, the surrounding land offered nothing. You assured him you were heading in the right direction, shielding your datapad from the heavy droplets as best you could. It offered Echo some reassurance your equipment could withstand harsh weather, and he trusted you to the ends of the galaxy and back. You found him something from your supply boxes to cover his head with to protect his implants and followed the lines on your map. On the ship and out of the persistent rain, Echo fetched you both some warm blankets to dry off and set up the spare heater, telling you stories about Kamino and the terrible rains the planet suffered, his reminiscent tales warming you just as much as the blanket and the heater.

Wrecker

If it is one thing Wrecker loves, it’s storms with their big, booming rolls of thunder and rapid strikes of lightning. As a cadet on Kamino, he would sit at the windows overlooking the sea and try to predict where the next lightning strike would hit, a tradition he followed as he grew. More than once he tried to sneak out, managing to reach a grasping hand into the falling droplets before he got caught either by a Kaminoan or a passing trooper and escorted back to the dormitories. Not that that ever stopped him from trying again later.

Day drew into night, rain relentlessly pelting the land and making it impossible for take off. After checking the inventory, monitoring any potential damage done to the ship, and planning your route once the conditions cleared, you sat in the cockpit with Wrecker, guessing where the next fork of lightning would spear. For the most part, Wrecker correctly predicted each strike, but he let you in on a few tricks. You had lowered the ramp to keep the machinery inside cool, and with no more lightning for the time being, Wrecker shifted to the door. He wandered out into the rain and invited you to join him. Carefully tottering down the slippery steps, he scooped you into his arms, droplets flying from your bodies as he began dancing with you in the rain. You had to admit, seeing him soaked and catching raindrops on his lashes was quite endearing, but not as sweet as the peal of laughter as he twirled you under his arm and danced as though nothing else existed.

Crosshair

Crosshair pretends to be indifferent to storms, but he secretly loves them. He’s not a fan of overly loud storms, but he finds a regular downpour to be settling. He can tune out for a bit and focus on something constant. At times, if he needs some focus and the weather is pleasant, he’ll play some rain sounds on his datapad while going about his day. 

You paid little mind to the rainstorm outside. The weather had been bleak for days, storms swelling and dropping every few hours. This one was no different until you heard the hatch lowering. Peeking around the open door of the medical cupboard, you saw Crosshair reaching out into the rain. To him, rain was tangible, something he could see and feel, and catching him like this felt like a moment you shouldn’t intrude upon, but you had never witnessed such calm in him. Acting on the occasion, you took his hands in yours and led him out into the drenching elements. It soaked through your clothes in seconds, but a small smile etched its way onto Crosshair’s lips. You stayed outside for a short while, quietly enjoying the calming nature of the rain. After heading back inside, you both showered to get warm, grabbed some snacks, and snuggled into his bunk to watch your favourite movie as the night swiftly swept in. Cuddling close, Crosshair thanked you for always supporting him and being a source of hope for him when times felt dark.

Tech

Tech doesn’t really care much about rain. For him, as long as it doesn’t hinder him too much, it doesn’t matter. But deep down, he finds a relaxing nostalgia to it that reminds him of where he came from and how far he has come. Remembering the rain he grew up with during a downpour on a faraway planet helps him feel that connection to Kamino again.

During an expedition, droplets slowly began to descend, hitting the portable work surfaces and the equipment Tech had set up. You were both quick to act, covering the most sensitive machinery and putting up coverings to keep the worst of the approaching storm at bay. Settling back into your joint work, he offered some interesting facts about storm types and correctly predicted when the rain would pick up and calm again. His knowledge poured from him like the rain from the bloated clouds, and he appreciated your follow-up questions. Soon, though, his wisdom turned to nostalgia as he recollected the storms on Kamino. Tipoca City was gone now, he would never get to experience a storm at home again, but your presence kept him warm, your hand on his even more so as the memories dripped unbidden and hurt more than he was willing to admit.

Hey guys, I thought I’d try to make a list like the one I’ve seen a few times on here. I’ve been really struggling to get the motivation to do some important things and to feel a wave of support behind me would help so much. I’ll even post pictures/proof of some kind that I’m doing the things so that you can feel the wonderful effect of helping someone get on top of their life :) I only seem to get notes on the fics I write, so my expectations are very low, but here goes

10 notes- I’ll start playing the piano again.

25 notes- I’ll finally finish my to-do list (it includes things like clean my hamster babies, update my calendar, buy a test I have to take to graduate college, etc)

50 notes- I’ll pull a late night/all-nighter to get completely caught up in my assignments

75 notes- I’ll thoroughly clean every part of my house.

100 notes- I’ll apply to 30 jobs so that I can make more money and not be so financially stressed.

200 notes- I’ll start writing a poem a day.

300 notes- l’ll finish fixing the links on my main, do maintenance on my other blogs and start three new blogs that I’ve been wanting to start forever but haven’t had the courage to (it involves posting my art that I’m self-conscious about)

500 notes- I’ll redo my formal wardrobe so that i can actually feel like who I am/who I’ve worked so hard to become when I’m dressed up.

750 notes- I’ll finally start my side blog business that terrifies me but is the beginning of the life I always wanted.

1k notes- I’ll start writing the fantasy book series that everyone (professors, friends, family etc) says has a high chance of getting published.

2k notes- I’ll record and post my first podcast episode (also something that excites and terrifies me because it would be the beginning of everything).

3k notes- don’t do this to me but…if I get to 3k I’ll stop doing the two things that are bad/addictive/potentially fatal in my life, tell my s/o about it, and get professional help.

Anything beyond that- I don’t really know, completing these things would be such a life altering experience. I’ll invest serious effort into ensuring I maintain this new life style? I’m not sure, but I’ll definitely do something significant to show my appreciation for that much support :)

After falling asleep reading the hobbit, you wake up in the arms of Thranduil This is pretty short but it was going round my head. I tried

You wake to soft light and warmth, though you could no longer feel arms around you, you could hear the gentle sound of fingers on fabric.

Forcing your eyes open against the sleep begging to keep them closed, you saw Thranduil. Dressed in his fine robes, and sat at the vanity, dragging a comb through his long milky hair.

His eyes meet yours in the reflection of the mirror. A gorgeous smile graces his face as he looks at you. Gob-smacked you stare at him in awe. He chuckles as you continue to watch him.

He turns to you with that breathtaking smile still plastered on his face. "Good morning my dear, I tried to stay quiet to let you rest". After coming across the room he places a gentle kiss on your forehead.

"Come, lets get you ready meleth nin". He takes your hand in his and pulls you back to the vanity, motioning for you to sit.

Now you had a proper moment to look at yourself. Your hair was its natural hair colour, but it was long, down past your waist, your ears resembling that of an elf, and your features had been sharpened, you still look yourself, just more elvish.

Thranduil tugging his fingers through your hair brought you from your thoughts. It was disorienting being in a world not your own. With a character known for being ruthless smiling down at you with such comfort and care.

You let yourself relax into his touch, you may as well enjoy it while it lasts. Warning bells became background noise as his fingers massaged your head. His face was stoic again, focused on the task at hand. The fondness never left his eyes though, something you took note of.

Starting to braid back your hair now, he tugged at your locks gently, careful not to hurt you. This was a soft side never shown in the books, it was so welcoming and warm. It was almost easy to forget the life you left behind. Almost.

You missed your quiet cottage in the woods, but this domesticity was none existent in that lonely cottage. This was a different warmth than the one of your cottage. This was just as peaceful, but so much more calming, the warmth encased your whole body, filling every nook and cranny. You closed you eyes now, soaking up the homely feeling Thranduil had brought in such a small space of time. This made you understand why everyone seemed to love him. In that moment you decided, while Thranduil kept his eyes focused on your hair, that you never wanted this to end.

You didn't want to go home. Ever.

Okay, I've never done this before, but I'm opening requests for tbb x reader oneshots! Bear with me, I'm going to lay out a few rules.

NO NSFW. It's really not my thing; I don't enjoy reading it, and it makes me even more uncomfortable to write it. These ficlets will be fluff only! Maybe a little bit of angst mixed in if you request it. (I can do a TINY bit of spice, just nothing explicit.)

The Bad Batch only, please! I love all of our fine boys of the GAR, but they're the only individuals I feel like I could write decently at the moment. I may open up more characters in time, but for now, we're leaving it at the members of Clone Force 99 (excluding Omega, obviously).

No poly relationships. I only feel qualified to write about singular relationships, since that is the only kind that I'm familiar with.

Unless requested otherwise, the fics will be gn!reader. I like to try and keep my work as open as I can so as many readers as possible can see themselves there.

Please be respectful! This is my first time writing by request, and I'm mostly doing this for the practice, experience, and to have fun! If you want to give me some constructive criticism, that's fine, I want to improve, but please be kind about it.

If I receive a request that I don't feel comfortable writing for some reason, I will message you and explain why I won't be fulfilling your request. Should you still want your fic to be written, you can communicate with me about where we can find some middle ground. But please understand that I have the right to not write about something I am uncomfortable with. It's nothing against anyone, I just don't feel qualified to write about certain topics. It's that time of the month and you don't feel very good. How is your Batcher dealing with it....

Hunter

He is probably the only one who immediately knows what's going on because of his senses. Even if you wanted to, you can't hide that you are on your period. The Moment he sees that you are feeling unwell because of it is the Moment he digs into the matter, reading up on information and talking to you about it, asking you what he can do to make you feel better.

Every next period when you are not feeling so well, he is prepared. He makes you tea, your favorite flavor of course. He's got your comfort snacks ready and takes care that you get warm compresses when your cramps act up too much. He's not to shy to get you hygiene products if you're out. Don't worry about anything, he's okay to take care of you and he's the last person to be mad when you are not up to take care of any tasks.

Echo

He is very caring. Echo can see right away that something is up, may it be that the cramps change your posture or your mood switches, he is attentive and will approach you about it. Be open about it, there is no need to hide anything, it's natural, he knows that even if it's new terrritory for him.

He will be prepared for any coming period, he will even help you with your hygiene items by bringing you a supply every now and then. He is patient and caring, probably helping you put your legs up and bringing you snacks. He's read that it's not good for a woman to exert herself too much during her period, so he wants you to cut back during that time, whether you're feeling really bad or not.

Wrecker

The big guy is sweet and soft. The first time he witnesses you in this time, he asks a lot of questions. He picks you up gently and lays you down, tucks you in and brings you tea, cause that's what Omega brings him when he is sick.

"Now get some rest and don't worry about anything, I got you covered"

Tech once mentioned that vitamins might be good for you during this time, so Wrecker gets you fruits and cuts them for you. As soon as he can, he sits down with you in your bed and watches holo movies with you, feeding you fruit.

Tech

He is prepared, even the very first time it happens. As soon as he developed a crush on you he read up on everything about females there is to know, also about the period. He was concerned and surprised to read that some women experience much pain and unwellness during that time.

He's got everything ready, different kinds of hygiene products, herbal teas, thermal patches, vitamins, chocolate and snacks. And in case it's really bad, Tech also got appropriate painkillers at hand. He takes care of you gently, of course talking to you about everything he's learned about your body.

Crosshair

He's a little confused at first.

"What's wrong with you today? You are pale and moody and you move... differently. Are you in pain?"

You sigh and try to explain what's going on. He listens to you and nods finally.

"Guess you stay in bed then"

"It's okay I-"

"Bed, now"

He is stern and wont budge. Crosshair makes sure you lay down and put your feet up.

But, he wont stay with you, at least not the first few time sin your relationship. He'll find excuses to leave but he always brings you things when he comes back, almost like a little apology for not being there with you. He also asks Omega to have an eye on you while he is gone.

Dormant Predators

hey. got involuntarily admitted for 3 weeks. i won't touch much upon the hell i went through but let's just say i am extremely jaded and bitter and angry. i have a severe bruise on my leg from attacking objects, and some more bruises elsewhere. my knees are further fucked from medical neglect. i was threatened with restraint within hours of arriving. nothing feels real and i keep breaking down in tears.

i just got out today. my bestie picked me up, we hung out, it was cathartic. i was going to be put into inpatient rehab, then i realized i didn't want to be locked up and was just being manipulated. then i tried for respite and outpatient, but respite won't have a bed until after thanksgiving. i'm terrified to even go now because i want to keep what control of my life i have left.

so now i'm home. with my abusive family. no one has seemed happy to see me. only my mom visited me, when i asked her to bring something. my psychiatrist at the ward broke HIPPA and told my mom i'm an addict, who then told my aunt, and now my whole family knows. my father included. i have already abused drugs within half an hour of being home.

i don't even have the option of relaxing in my own room, which i had begun turning into a safe haven, because my family turned it into storage. there is virtually no walking room and it is a massive safety hazard to me. they also killed half my roses, and the others are barely alive. they said they'd take care fo them. fuck my life. fuck all of this.

Haven't posted in forever and this is really random but yesterday I watched the fnaf movie and it was great but I noticed 2 things that I want to try to explain without spoiling possibly: first, in the beginning of the movie, there's a scene that takes place in a classroom. On the chalkboard of the classroom, there are "spelling words". One of them is puppet 🙃

I send 124 people an email every time I write smut.
