What’s even better is that, in later seasons, we get to see them growing and achieving their dreams gradually. In the beginning, Rainbow was working a minimum wage job. But then she decides to go back to school through the wonderbolt academy, and she eventually becomes one! And rarity starts with her small shop, but ends up opening two more boutiques in Canterlot and Manehattan. Like yeah, the show is about the importance of friendship, but it also shows realistic growth and baby steps in these grown characters who are navigating their way through young adulthood. It isn’t something I ever noticed as a child, obviously. But as a young adult myself, I have a whole new appreciation for the show for adding importance to these details.
One of tbe brilliant things about mlp:fim is that the main cast aren't wayward children or highschool students they're just a bunch of young adults. Like. Twilight is a postgrad forced by her supervisor to go find friends. Apple Jack has responsibility of gaurdianship of her little sister. They're all employed. They pay rent and taxes. Fluttershy has to deal with her deadbeat underachiever older brother who can't seem to move out by himself when she visits her parents. She also has anxiety she hasnt grown out of since high school. Rainbow Dash spends most days getting high and goofing off on her minimum wage job. Pinkie Pie has a culinary apprenticeship and lives with an older couple after she left her small mining town when nobody there was as into psychadelics as her. Rarity balances running her slowly growing etsy fashion bussiness with going on tinder dates with the worst men you've ever seen. They all vote. They have to pick up their own medical perscriptions. These are 26 year old girlies going through first quarter life crisises. So, yea, that fanart of Fluttershy smoking forever weed is highly accurate.

Dream Drifter isn't one of the main characters, but she's definitely got a role to play. On the outside, she doesn't seem all that powerful, just weird; she lives on her own out in the middle of nowhere, is a bit of a hippie, and regularly zones out of any conversation. She spends most of her time sleeping, as well. Only her special cutie mark, which cascades down her leg, belies her true potential.
You see, while she sleeps, Dream Drifter can visit a special "dream world" that lets her enter the dreams of anyone. Any creature who dreams can have their dreams entered, and no spell can block it. What a being dreams about, combined with how they feel about the dreams, can really tell you something about their character...
Furthermore, Dream Drifter can alter a dream at will once she enters it. She primarily uses this power to get rid of nightmares, especially in children. This power can be used for other things, too, such as sending messages.
However, Dream Drifter is very much a neutral party. She's nice to those she meets, but her refusal to work for a cause can be quite irritating to some. She also refuses to denounce anyone as evil, instead telling everypony to look at things from an outsider's perspective. She's very empathetic and an avowed pacifist. If someone antagonizes her, whether in the physical world or the dream world, she will simply leave. She doesn't see the dream world as any less real than the physical world, and in fact, she thinks that if any world were "real", it would be the dream world, since it exposes the true thoughts and natures of everyone, and everyone are equals there.

Why do cartoon horses make me so happy. I love them. Look at them go.
There are a few flaws in your argument but I appreciate your thoughts!
I would like to state that yes I am aware the school does teach young adults and adults, but it ALSO teaches children. Otherwise, why would Cozy Glow be there? I don't know the exact ages of the new mane 6 (gallus, smolder, silver stream, yona, osealus and sandbar) but I always interpreted them between ages 14-17. I could be wrong, but I always viewed them as children. They need to have their parents/guardians contacted in order to go home which speaks volumes to this.
And just to remind you, Starlight was unaware that stopping the mane 6 from ever meeting destroyed the world. She had no idea. Her goal was to make Twilight feel the same way she felt when Sunburst left her: alone. She wanted Twilight to understand what it felt like to have everything taken away from her. Is this justified? Absolutely not, it was a horrible thing to do. But it was fixed because Twilight showed Starlight what the future looked like without the Mane 6, which is where Starlight's redemption arc began because she realized she destroyed the world.
And this debate was not about Cozy Glow but I absolutely agree. I am astounded that such a young foal was stuck in Tartarus. She could very well be viewed as a troubled child who simply needs to be steered down a better path, and I would have loved to see this happen with her character. If anything, Cozy Glow deserves redemption above Chancellor Neigh Say. I also think there's more potential with her character if they did that.
I just finished season 8 of FiM.
Chancellor Neigh Say shouldn't have been redeemed.
YES I AGREE!!!
Honestly, I don’t understand the design choice at all. I mean, other toys being released from this time looked so cool! More fluid with a modern feel. These toys feel like they wanted to capture earlier MLP gens retro feel on something that was very much not. Don’t even get me started on the gen 5 toys.
My dream gen4 my little pony toy
The discourse has long since passed on this since MLP Gen 4 has been out for years, and now they have the g5 toys which are even worse, but anyways.
I think its a real shame they didn't make the g4 pony toys have like... any poses.
Lauren Faust has such a dynamic artstyle and I understand how it was hard to make into 3D but I refuse to believe this was the best they could do:
When theyre posed they have ugly little tube legs and no elbow. I think lauren fausts artstyle works with horses because she actually tool the time to look at horse anatomy and make it unique and stylized but these look so bad and not even very dynamic when they do do the poses but usually they dont do any poses at all.
