Sunset Shimmer was literally terrified by this, because she was originally a pony 😭 Earlier in the short Applejack said “I tried to ask sunset to do this with me, but she just… wasn’t into it”.

Cozy Glow as a character frustrates me. Moreover, how we never even sniffed in the direction of a redemption arc for her. (Outside of the shared one with Tirek and Chrysalis in S9 that lasted a whole entire 3 minutes). We never get to see her backstory, learn about her family, and we don’t see any motivation for her actions other than simply wanting more power. We see some other villains who do the same throughout the series, but as far as we aware, cozy glow is just a little girl. Literally just a filly. And she never gets a redemption, or help, or learns a valuable lesson.
She is a kid that hates for the sake of hating until eventually she is turned to stone. I can see from one perspective that this was intentional: having a character that is just bad to be bad can be a refreshing break in the well-built stereotype throughout this show that everyone and anyone can be redeemed. But also. She’s a kid. I don’t like it. I would even argue that that throwing a 10 year old into a horrible, vile, dungeon meant for the most vile criminals and beasts, and then turning her to stone, is inherently immoral. But that’s just me.
I’ve read around about theories that Cozy Glow isn’t actually a filly, and is instead some bigger more-ancient evil being trapped in a filly’s body, or just looking like one. When we first met her character, this is also what I thought. All things considered, she totally could be! In which case, I would probably like the way her story ended a lot more. But in canon, we don’t really get anything that hints this is true. She is a cunning and manipulative foal, and her cutie mark is a chess piece. It tracks. She is kind of just evil because she wants to be, and this little kid gets sent to a horrible prison, and then turned to stone
"The creative team considers how the personality of each character translates into facial expressions, body language, props, and home environment. The Mane Six -- Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Apple Jack, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie -- each have expressions and style characteristics that are unique to that character, as well as general expressions that they all share. According to the DHX Media team, 'There are certainly characters that would make different expressions, like you might do something with Pinkie Pie that you would never do with Applejack or Twilight or Rarity. So we don't have something that's specific for just one character, but we avoid certain expressions if it goes outside their personalities.'"
From My Little Pony: The Art of Equestria by Mary Jane Begin
I did a little MLP gen art style practice and decided to display them all together. The ponies from top to bottom are Galaxy, Ivy, Razzaroo, Rainbow Dash, and Sunny Starscout. The backgrounds were stripped from official art I found on google.
What's your favorite gen?
I actually adore this
Then Joseph had another dream, and he told his brothers about it. He said, “I had another dream. I saw the sun, the moon, and eleven stars bowing down to me.” Genesis 37:9
Watching Twilight's ascension to princessdom during the first 3-4 seasons, I was thinking about Joseph and his prophetic dreams.
I thought about how Twilight's cutie mark, the mark that foretold her destiny, was a great shining star with five small stars closeby.
I thought about Joseph's dream in which he was a star, and his brothers and parents---the stars, sun, and moon---bowed down to him.
I thought about how every pony in Equestria, including her five friends, bowed down to Twilight.
I thought about how Joseph's future in Egypt was revealed to him when he was a teenager, and how it all unfolded over the course of many years.
I thought about how Twilight's destiny was in the making as early as her fillyhood, when she earned her cutiemark, even when they didn't know and everyone assumed it just meant she was good at magic.
I have finished Friendship is Magic. I don’t think I will ever be the same. Horses bro.

S9 E18 “She Talks to Angel”
THIS IS EPISODE IS AMAZINGGGG I’m never going to get over Angel in Fluttershy’s body saying “I talk to animals, I wanna marry Discord” PUHLEASEEE I will never recover from this.
That single episode doesn't define Chrysalis as a character, though. If you don't like her then you don't have to like her 🤷
I enjoy her as a character and moreover as a villain because out of all the villains we know of, she was the most justified. She is a creature who feeds on love. For as long as she has known, her and her give survived solely on feeding off of other creatures love. When she was pretending to be Princess Cadence at her wedding, during "This Day Aria", she said "no I do not love the groom, in my heart there is no room". In my eyes, it seems like she's a queen who was doing her best to provide for an entire colony in the only way she has ever known. As her character progresses through the series, we see her succumb to the loneliness of losing her hive. This leads her to "talk to logs alone in the woods". But she doesn't stay like that. When we see her with Lord Tirek and Cozy Glow, she is a complex character with more personality. Battling between her inherent hatred for friendship and the uneasy yet steadily growing relationship she has with Tirek and Cozy Glow. We see her do silly dances, be sarcastic, be afraid and angry, be vulnerable and so much more. We see her exude mass amounts of confidence while still being put in place by Grogar, where she cowers at his feet. Her "going insane" in that episode did not define her character. So yes, I think she's a pretty epic villain.
Chrysalis I love U (the way she’s written is so fun. A pretty epic villain tbh)
