Love how this turned out!
eight years into my spirituality and I finally know what they mean when people talk about raising energy.
To raise energy you must get completely out of your mind. You must get into your body, into the present moment, forget time exists. It's about getting to a place and a mindset where you're simply just doing, being, not thinking.
And it cannot be forced. For years I've tried sitting, meditating, willing energy into objects or worse, into the world in general, and found it doesn't work.
Whether you get there by dancing in the shower, by meditating, by allowing yourself to feel an emotion viscerally, it doesn't matter. It just matters that you're not thinking.
And you can literally feel it. To me it feels like a blood rush to the head, my arms will usually raise above my head on instinct, and my face smiles. It feels like a shot of b12. It tingles.
Then the energy just moves with nothing more than a thought, an impulse, a desire. It just becomes. It just is.
“What do I do if I want to—“
Go into the woods.
“How do I—“
Go into the woods.
“I am going through—“
Go into the woods.
Or if you live next to the sea, to the sea.
Or a desert, into the desert.
Or a grassland, into the grassland.
Or a park with as much treecover as you can scrounge- better yet, make a day of it, leave the city, and go into the woods/the sea/the desert/the grassland then.
Any answer to your question won’t come from another person, but from going into the wilderness. So stop talking, stop asking and babbling, and go.

For those in the broom closet, or for those who are open, for baby witches and for the experienced, here are some back to school witch tips to help your school year be magical and spectacular <3
Draw sigils on assignments for good grades/to have your teacher appreciate your work, scratch them out really hard/fast or erase them to charge.
Charm your lip balm to be persuasive, or to be heard!
Draw a tarot card in the morning to see what you should be aware of for the day, or what you need to work on for the day.
Stir your morning tea or coffee counter-clockwise to rid bad energy, and stir clockwise to bring in good energy, luck, and any other sort of positive intention.
If you have a binder that acts as a book of shadows, place sigils on them to keep wandering eyes away.
Glamours, glamOURS, GLAMOURS!!!!! They work so well if you’re running late. I like to mumble them to myself and mediate on Rose Quartz when I’m in a rush.
Eat small snacks to keep yourself grounded, and don’t forget to breathe after each class. Trust me, I know it can get frustrating with obnoxious people.
Charm talismans/amulets/bracelets to help you be on time/remember your homework.
Put satchets in your lockers/decorate your locker to make it a little safe space or school-friendly altar.
Keep the list going! I started school Monday and I’m eager to see what else witches can do for school!
Witchcraft is not just a craft; it's a path that intertwines with our daily lives. Amid the spells and rituals, it's vital to remember that self-care is a cornerstone of our practice. By nurturing our minds, bodies, and spirits, we empower ourselves to be more effective witches and resilient individuals.
In this blog post, we'll delve into "Witchcraft and Self-Care: Nurturing Your Mind, Body, and Spirit," exploring the importance of self-care and suggesting rituals and practices to help you flourish on your magical journey.
🌟✨
1. Grounding and Centering 🌳🌌
Start your self-care journey with grounding and centering. Take a moment each day to connect with the Earth. Stand barefoot on the ground, feeling the energy of the Earth rise through you. Meditate, visualize roots extending from your body into the soil, anchoring you to the Earth's nurturing energy.
2. Daily Affirmations 🧘♀️🌟
Affirmations are powerful tools for nurturing a positive mindset. Each morning, recite affirmations that align with your intentions. These affirmations reinforce your sense of self-worth, strength, and resilience. For example, "I am powerful," "I am loved," or "I am in control of my destiny."
3. Bath Rituals 🛁🌸
A soothing bath can work wonders for your well-being. Infuse your bathwater with Epsom salt, lavender, or rose petals. As you soak, visualize any stress or negativity melting away, leaving you refreshed and renewed. This simple practice can be profoundly healing.
4. Moon Meditation 🌕🧘♂️
Harness the energy of the moon to nurture your spirit. During the Full Moon, find a quiet space outdoors, and meditate beneath its radiant glow. Visualize the moon's energy filling you with light, cleansing away any emotional burdens, and empowering you for the month ahead.
5. Herbal Tea Ritual ☕🌿
Create a mindful tea ritual using your favorite herbs. As you brew and sip your tea, focus on the sensations and flavors. Allow the warmth of the tea to envelop you, bringing comfort and serenity. This practice can also enhance your connection with herbal magic.
6. Journaling 📓🖋️
Keep a magical journal to record your thoughts, experiences, and spellwork. Journaling is not only cathartic but also a powerful way to track your progress, uncover patterns, and celebrate your successes. Use it as a tool for self-reflection and growth.
7. Self-Compassion 💖🌈
Practice self-compassion in your daily life. Be gentle with yourself, just as you would with a close friend. Understand that setbacks are part of growth, and mistakes are opportunities to learn. By nurturing self-compassion, you'll foster resilience and inner strength.
🌟✨
As witches, our practice is a reflection of our inner and outer worlds. By prioritizing self-care, we infuse our craft with authenticity and power. Remember that you are the most important tool in your magical toolkit, and by nurturing your mind, body, and spirit, you become a beacon of light in the world.
So, let's embrace self-care as an essential aspect of witchcraft. By nurturing ourselves, we empower our magic and cultivate a deeper connection with the universe.
🌿🌟✨
Hey babe that spell might not be working because your associations with an item may not be the same as another's and how you feel about an ingredient is what's going to impact how it influences your spell!
When I say "connect with nature" I don't just mean the aesthetic forests with deer and beautiful flowers.
I mean the weeds growing through concrete, the fungus that grows on the rotten shed, the nettles that always seem to return and the scary, spindly cellar spider in the corner of the bathroom.
Nature is not always pretty or magical - the pigeons and seagulls you swat at are nature too, the wasps and flies that hover by your meals are animals too, store-bought strawberries and the leaves that fall from your neighbour's tree are not all that different from the Giant Sequoias and it's seeds.
If you want to connect and understand nature, I mean *really* connect to it, in it's entirety, you have to seek out and learn about the ugly, scary and mundane things as well. You don't have to like it, just don't forget that it's there.
