I think the worst for gs is how similar to gb the situation is. A hot headed brat, consumed by hatred, whom older sister died by goblin? That was gb all right. And probably gb never worked on that trauma. Instead he buried it deep in his heart, and started slaying goblin, seeking to do something. Anything. All to forget. Focusing on saving people, instead of stopping and follow the five steps of suffering.

But opening his heart, started to mellow those feelings he kept in check, as useless and dangerous in battle, since they could bring distraction. Allowing him to better work with people, and doing things that he alone (may?) Never be able to. But also the trauma he left unchecked all this time. Kept fresh on purpose on his pursuit of goblin. A motive that keeps him steady before the horror he decides to live every day he walks in a goblin cave.

His guilt is not for not killing the girl. Or at least, not completely. He had no problem accepting it before, times and times again. As necessary actions. Acts of mercy, which he may have wished could have been spared for her sister, as he looked uselessly while hidden as a child. For example when Explaining to priestess that the girl could not be saved, he did so without breaking a sweat. Instead already going again to save the the last girl.

It could also be survivor guilt, as he started enjoying his time with his team, when there are people that he could not save. And realized only now, remembering the girl while everyone was preparing a party.

The most heartbreaking is how he decides to suffer alone. Deciding to run away from all the people he learnt to call friends.

He is probably condemning himself, thinking that after all this time, nothing changed. His actions were not able to save a little brother (him) from having his family (gs's sister) die on him. Useless, as he was under that hiding place. Back to when he was looking at her sister being violently tortured (it was torture stfu) and unable to do anything to help her.

Not true, as we know. In fact, We could say that the simple fact that gb saved the hero, was enough to have saved the world. And even if gb doesn't know it, many villages have showed their appreciation to him. But remembering his trauma, gs can't see all the good things he did. Only what he didn't. Making it his fault.

Sorry if it is written so badly😝. English is not my first language, and i was going to sleep. But gb is a quite complex character, and I adore how much you can extrapolate by his actions. And seeing a openly weeping gs was probably a surprise for us all. I just couldn't describe how truly f*cked up our poor gb is. Only try. So if anyone thinks otherwise, don't take my words for guarantee, alright?😉

P.s. does anyone else think gs under his armor is just a big dork uncomfortable when in companyn other people? It is difficult when you speak to someone and are unable to see their face. Mostly because you can't see their expressions, and are unable to figure what the other people is thinking. I don't doubt GS is wearing his armor for strictly pragmatic reason. But could it be that his many years by his master, left him unable to converse normally with people? And let's not forget that even after, he would pass most of his time alone hunting goblin. Leaving precious few times to speak with others. And even then, he would just hurry back to another quest. So he may be socially stunt? It is called like this when a child can not form a social self to relation with others?

If I recall, his sister and their companions (including the priestess) were Porcelain ranked who take a goblin slaying request WITHOUT any plan. They just headed straight to the goblin’s lair. Also, they got killed because they underestimated the goblins. Well, not all of them.

His sister, the wizard, gets poisoned by the dagger the goblins stabbed her with, and Goblin Slayer killed her out of mercy because she will not survive for so long.

And now, Goblin Slayer felt guilty for killing his sister.

It’s the first time we see Goblin Slayer cry ever since his whole village were raided by goblins.

Will that guy finds out the truth?

just read a story where ozpin was pretending to be oscar (who might have never existed in the first place)

and wooooh boy was it fucked up to see a thousand plus year old man manipulate ruby and whittley into loving him so he could further his plans. still makes me feel nauseous just thinking about it. which speaks well for the author of the story at least. but yeah that was really messed up might have soured rose-garden and rich-farmers for me forever. 

it also gave a believable break down of bumblebees so it fell apart (because blake is racist and decided to side with robin since she said she would help the fuanas and politicians never lie) and showed a yang and weiss desperately trying to save their younger siblings. 

it also killed nora and ren off to just throw more shit at jaune (like the guy needs it) but then it turns out they’re alive and simply hiding out from ozpin and cinder while working with jaune’s family to save everyone’s favorite noodle and jaune’s rapidly approaching fuck it levels that will result in him destroying everything if a fit of nihilistic furry

Yes he's a God. Just "it's a party" has been a clusterfuck of Surprise by beginning to the end, and you can Always See the study there Is behind his characters, even though Is the only finished story. Beside "dies irae", "a Grimm tale" and "broken fangs" are all completely different by One Another, while the most of Fanfiction today Is Just a variation of "jaune goes to Beacon" with adds-on. In His stories there Is never "they Met, they fucked-the end". He explores the racism that was Just mentioned in the show in a complete new light, and probably I could keep going for a bit, so i'll Just repeat that his characters are constants. If they are not well in the head that's Just It, It doesn't change in five minutes with a pair of magic words by the MC of the story. I mean look at blake in broken fangs or Cardin in a Grimm tale!

And ozpin Is depicted like a true Immortal should act, not Just a troll, i mean, look at the show, the most despicable thing he has done Is having caused the unspecific reason for Hazel's sister death, and that part we don't even know if it's true or Just hazel's obsession, but living so long must mess with the head.

The wild and naked anger on his face as he rose, and Blake’s gaze went up, his mailed hand grabbing her throat and raising her up. Blake’s legs kicked against his armoured form, the man in the armour not letting go of her as he brought her face close to his, snarling lividly at her. Blake's heels kicked at him as he held her, whilst they stared and the wrath in his expression made her cower.

“YOU TOLD THAT WOMAN ABOUT THAT? ARE YOU INSANE?!"

His teammates shifted, muscles tensing, ready to interfere if things got violent. It was something Weiss noticed, as the man she liked's voice turned angrier.

"ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND, YOU SICK FAUNUS BITCH?!”

Spit hit Blake in the face as the cat ears flattened on her face, Jaune’s grip pressing against the Faunus girl’s throat, Weiss up from her seat after she'd gathered herself, as was Yang.

“Jaune! Calm down, she didn’t mean anything with it! I was there with her, we both did it!”

Blake was struggling against the hand, as he didn’t look away from her. Jaune ignored Yang, looking at Blake's face with eyes that were full of emotion.

“Beacon fell because of YOU and your fucking people, Blake. Your whole ‘White Fang’ maniac band of Faunus murderers just went out and MURDERED THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE! THOUSANDS, BLAKE! And you know what the best thing is, Blake fucking Belladonna? Pyrrha died because of Cinder Fall and her White Fang flunkies. All because of you. You couldn't just leave that mad crusade for 'Faunus rights' alone, could you?”

His anger was visible on his face as Yang grabbed a hold of him, trying to wrench her girlfriend free. Weiss could use a Glyph, but there was nothing that could stop Jaune without impacting the others.

“She was innocent of that! She had nothing to do with the White Fang, and Adam was-“

Yang shouted, and Jaune’s eyes turned to her. Yang actually flinched back, the blue eyes looking angry and tired.

"SHE HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH THE WHITE FANG, YANG! HER FATHER CREATED THE ORGANISATION AND SHE WAS A PROUD MEMBER!"

His breathing was heavy, as his grip on Blake's throat increased, the gauntlets holding her tightly, as his voice calmed somewhat, speaking in a harsh tone.

“Adam chased the two of you down, simply because this little pussycat couldn’t keep her mouth fucking open for FIVE FUCKING SECONDS and tell all of us about what it’s like to fight with him. Information, Blake Belladonna, about his fucking semblance would’ve been nice. Do you think this is funny? Do you? How many of us need to die before Blake Belladonna gets it in her fucking skull that not everything revolves around the people who are oppressed?”

Blake was starting to turn purple in the face as his grip dug into her neck. The armoured gauntlets were hard to pry from a neck, she could guess. She didn’t get closer, looking at her team leader, Ruby looking scared and indecisive between the two of them.

“You handed out information to a known political opponent of Ironwood, simply because ‘Blake fucking Belladonna, Faunus terrorist supreme’ wants to see her girlfriend Yang lose another arm. ‘Oh no, I’m so sorry for dodging every damn fucking consequence Yang, even thought they cut off your arm! They can replace it!’, and I don’t want to see my friend like that!”

You May Be forgetting the danger if One of these animals get Lost, or, even worse, if down the reproduction cycle some of the descendants show a mutation, since there seem to be a bond between body and aura that keep it's presente in the following generation. Beside It takes a long time to train an animal, and with super intelligence and strenght they must be twice more careful over Every single animal. So MayBe Even if he can't create an army, maybe a small handful could be used and given to a select Number of trainers.

P.s. of course if doesn't exist a semblance or some others BS Power on remnant that would allow blind obedience, but i doubt they would use It then. In the game we play by ryuugi jaune adopted a dog and gifted aura and something more, but in that case the dog became smarter than me in Little less than a month so i dunno if he counts.

He’d be a pretty good trainer

Remnant is pretty much a death world, so the wildlife must be pretty insane too having to deal with things like Grimm, whatever arcane things the Brothers left behind,  humans, Dust and it’s effect on the environment, and likely ghosts.

That said most animals can be tamed, or at least trained to an extent. All living things from the smallest bacteria to the largest whale, to the smallest algae to the largest grove of trees is capable of aura.

Jaune is an aura amplifier, see where I’m going?

Jaune is strongish on his own, he’s strongest when working with others. He’d be at his pinnacle commanding an army of beasts, going full druid, on his enemys. 

Sending murder after murder of Ravens, Crows, and Rooks at his enemies to scout information, and harass supply lines, and take out lightly armored units like beowolves with sheer numbers or even better… Send one murder of crows of over the battle field carrying flour, coal dust, gun powder, or even just packets of oil, then send one higher flying murder dropping lit torches. Or they could be lame and make carry small flechettes. Huh, they could even step the battlefield by dropping caltrops and other small traps that could injury feet on unsuspecting enemies. 

Sending in his packs of armored dogs, wolves, and hybrids to further harass and distract enemies, using hit and run tactics to take out weaker units then pulling back and hiding when outmatched, stalking them and whittling down forces. Or sending them to take down larger solo larger units like alpha’s or elder Grimm, attacking them in swarms then retreating while sending in the next pack, not giving the Grimm rest, not letting them heal or learn eventually killing them with a death by a thousand cuts.

Sending in passels of armored boars to break enemy lines, or Grimm packs. Younger Grimm being killed instantly under the weight of the war pigs, while older Grimm are gored as they charge pass them. Clearing entire areas of edible plants to decrease supplies for enemy forces, while feeding them.

War elephants to deal with super-heavy grimm, to break enemy fortification, to transport supplies and arms. Carry lighter animals like crows or foxs, or even allied humans, humans who can fight from ontop of the elephants. 

Having a pride of lions as his honor guard guarding his flank and back. 

WHALE SQUAD! ORCA UP! Dolphins to deal with underwater threats, Orcas to deal with heavies.

With each and every animal’s aura unlocked, boosted, and possibly with semblance, it’d be a massacre. That said I’m sure most animals would have simple semblance that are easy to find and master. But, simple does not equal bad, no, if anything it just grants greater chance for growth.

The potential is endless, yeah, it’d be a time investment to tame those animals, but start with the Crows and work up, get people to help.

Sure you could argue, oh no way he has enough aura for that! You’d be right, at first. But, semblances evolve and change based on how they are used, and Jaune in constant aura dynamo state would increase his reserves, as his semblance is natural the giving type, so to give more it’d increase his already large reserves until he’d have enough on tap to supply his beast horde. Then it’d increase his aura regen speed to keep up with the damage they take in. Hell, it’s not outside the realm of reason that Jaune’s semblance could evolve in the following line of thought, like a creating a link between him and living be allowing him to give aura from a distance, then it further evolving allowing a two way connection via thought, and then allowing him to telepathically control his armies from miles away while still boosting them

Also, food? Like 90% of Remnant is unclaimed, give him time to build his power base and he’ll figure it out.

Anyway, I think Jaune should be Remnant’s equivalent of a pokemon master.
