nothing worse than when the premise of something captivates you but then it sucks ass. bro you put this idea out into the world and you didn't even do it a shred of justice
So, been leaning into my headcanon of Catholic Blacks recently and been thinking about Sirius knowing about Regulus turning against Voldemort because Regulus confessed as much to his local priest, knowing that the course would result in his own death and fearing this would amount to suicide. Sirius goes to the priest, desperate for answers and while receives no specifics, gets enough to figure out that Regulus tried to back out. This picture is meant to be Regulus in his last confession.
I combined this with my own thoughts about clothing in the wizarding world. I believe the split when wizards went into hiding is some time not long after the Tudors, so I've run with a Tudor-esque outfit. Purples and greens are often mentioned and I think they'd be very fitting for a young Black. Stripped purple/pink and silver pantaloons because after a dream I had of Regulus in stripped trousers, its just too much fun to put him in them. His belt his black leather, with the family emblem in silver at the end. The cloak has crystals sewn into its outer edge to create a glittery effect. He has a ruff, because why not keep around such a funky it of neckwear? The rosary is gold, Whitby jet and malachite.

Cobra Kai x Outer Banks
My taste in romance has less to do with how romantic the relationship actually is (though that is a bonus) and more to do with how interesting I find the dynamic between the couple. Which is why fluffy vanilla romance usually bores the hell out of me. I want to see how these characters dramatically affect each other and fundamentally change each other and their individual understandings of the world!!! I want to see a beautiful tie-in between the romance and the themes + messages of the story and how it all builds to a climax!!!
angst with soulmates, my favorite genre <3 literally<3 <3

Just thinking about how
Ronald Weasley flew a magically enchanted car and ended up reaching his destination totally (ALMOST) safe AT THE AGE OF 12 ?????
Hermione Granger trapped the animagus of the stinky ass reporter who wrote shit about her and her best friend for like 6 months??? A year????
Harry Potter sass-ed out not only like half of the adults in his life but also the minister of magic!???????
How the three of them literally helped hagrid plan AND execute the escape of a legit very very illigal to keep baby dragon!????? AT THE AGE OF 11!?? AND THEY SUCCEEDED!???
STARTED A TEENAGE REBEL GROUP AT THE AGE OF 15!???
AT THE SAME TIME USED HAGRID'S HALF BRO TO LIKE PICK AND KICK UMBITCH OUT OF HOGWARTS!???? (THAT WAS AWESOME BTW)
BROKE INTO THE MINISTRY NOT ONCE BUT TWICE!???
BROKE INTO GRINGOTTS AND GOT OUT OF THERE ON A FUCKING DRAGON!???
ALMOST DIED (WELL HARRY ACTUALLY DID ) LIKE COUNTLESS OF TIMES AND STILL SURVIVED!????
WE DON'T TALK ENOUGH ABOUT THEIR CHAOTICNESS IN THIS FANDOM I SWEAR
Today's children don't know what it was like when half of your photographs would turn out with demonically glowing red eyes.
Once again thinking about: "He was only fifteen-" "I'm fifteen!"
Imagine being Harry and finding out that one of the worst people you've ever met who does nothing but belittle and degrade you, who has become the antithesis of everything you aspire to be, is the victim of the exact person you believed to be the gold standard.
Because for years, everyone was telling Harry one thing about James while Snape was saying another and, for years, Harry had been comfortable believing Snape was the one who was wrong.
So, imagine being Harry and all you have left of your parents is the memories people choose to share with you, so you take all the scraps and make this Frankenstein idealistic version of your parents because, for a moment, it makes you feel like you actually know them.
And then, just in case you forgot, reality reminds you in maybe the worst way that you don't know these people at all.
