A lot of people like to say that Ron's second house is either Hufflepuff because of the movies or Slytherin simply because of the scene with the Mirror of Erised in the Philosopher's Stone, but in my opinion that's not it. Movie Ron is not Book Ron, and Ron does not aim to be those things that are shown in the Mirror of Erised, he simply desires them. His aim is towards helping his friends, and having fun playing chess or Quidditch. He is more quick-witted that people give him credit for, and more knowledgeable as well. He also had a certain wisdom to him, knowing things or perceiving them in such a way that he sometimes predicts things that will happen. Like predicting that Lockhart was a fraud. He even told Hermione that someone as powerful like Dumbledore could be tricked by a really clever Dark wizard (Grinderwald).
And Hermione would definitely be a Slytherin. Outside of the fact that she literally created two organizations with the aim to defy an authority (S.P.E.W and the D.A.). She was determined, resourceful and clever, which are all Slytherin traits. She was also more vicious in certain aspects that people sometimes ignore. Marietta Edgecombe comes to mind, as well as Rita Skeeter, or sending Ron those birds.
If they weren’t in gryffindor, Ron would be a ravenclaw and Hermione would be a slytherin.
ron is logical and strategic, often has great and practical ideas. hermione is ambitious, resourceful and determined. it makes sense to me.
Ron was asleep, his muscles and shoulder felt really bad and he was incredibly tired. Right on top of him, was Hermione. Her brown golden curls were falling like curtains that surrounded her face. Her beautiful eyes were shining as she gazed at him from below. He wanted to move, to touch her like she deserved to be touched, but for some reason he couldn’t move. It was as if he had been petrified and he could only gaze as she began to lower her head towards his. Just when he thought she might’ve kissed him she lowered her mouth near his ear.
Taking the chance he licked and kissed her neck, it tasted like blood and metal. Weird, but he was tasting Hermione’s skin and he wasn’t about to complain about that.
“Ron,” she whispered. Fuck, it was the sexiest thing he’d ever heard. “Ron,” a little louder and he silently begged for more. “Ron,” that wasn’t as quiet as the others. “Ron!”
Ron’s eyes snapped open. He looked around, he was surrounded by most of his friends, as well as some other people from Gryffindor. Hermione was kneeling down her face clearly worried and with marks on the sides of her head where it looked like she clawed with her nails. He unconsciously licked his lips and recognized the taste of metal and blood. Fred and George were also there and although they looked quite worried were snickering silently. Ron sent them a glare, as he couldn’t move.
“Ron,” he turned to look at Hermione. “Are you alright?”
“Yeah,” he said, trying to nod his head, but failing. “I just won’t be able to move for a while, but other than that I’m pretty good. Where’s Gryffindor?”
“I’m here,” Gryffindor said, kneeling on Ron’s right side. “Drink this,” in his hand was a glass bottle with viscous yellowish substance inside.
“No thanks,” said Ron, grimacing at the view of whatever the hell Gryffindor was trying to feed him. Gryffindor sighed, then he grabbed Ron’s chin forcefully and pried his mouth open. Ron for his part closed his mouth as tight as he could and this time Gryffindor had a hard time opening it. He put the large bottle down and handed it to Hermione.
“When I tell you to,” he told her. “Pour it in his mouth. It’ll help,” Hermione looked quite conflicted with herself, but if it meant helping her friends Ron knew what she was willing to do.
Gryffindor took a hold of Ron’s nose cutting off his breathing, Ron held on to the air inside his mouth as long as he could until he had to take in some air. He opened his mouth in a loud gasp and Gryffindor held his jaw.
“Now! Fill his mouth and don’t overdo it!” Gryffindor exclaimed. Hermione began pouring the viscous substance into his mouth. It filled Ron’s mouth, it was cold and it felt as if a weird slime was pouring inside his mouth. Ron closed his mouth and forced himself to swallow, however the unpleasant feeling inside his stomach or the disgusting taste never came. Instead, he tasted bananas and chocolates along with very cold milk, and his body, which was burning, tired and exhausted, felt cooler and more relaxed.
“Hmmmmm,” he moaned, closing his eyes and savouring the taste. “What is that?” He asked.
“It's a banana smoothie,” Gryffindor said, his eyebrow arched. “Right now, you’re experiencing cramps so intensely your body has stopped moving temporarily. So if you want to walk today instead of staying in bed all day. Drink. The bloody. Smoothie.”
Ron squinted his eyes at Gryffindor in a small glare and opened his mouth. Hermione for her part put the bottle to Ron’s mouth as he began to drink, he had closed his eyes at the moment and so he didn’t notice Hermione staring at his Adam's apple bobbing, her cheeks a light pink. By the time the bottle ended Ron could move again, however his left arm still hurt when he tried to use it. As Ron checked himself he noticed his robes at first, only his pants were actually unscathed, his upper half clothes had been burned and slashed to the point that it was comical how much he was revealing and how much he had uncovered.
The blood that was on his body and clothes was not that much, perhaps half a cup at most. The cut had hurt far worse than it probably should have. He wasn’t even that worried about the blood, he was more worried about the pink and bright scars that were on his shoulder now.
He looked around ready to ask Gryffindor what exactly had happened when he was nowhere to be seen.
Gryffindor was walking angrily towards the Headmaster’s office. Of course it had to have been one of Salazar’s students who would break the rules and against his Champion no less, no one else could be that petty.
‘You could,’ said a small voice that sounded like Rowena.
‘Shut up,’ he continued until he was in front of the stone gryphon. He said the password and made his way up the stairs. When he opened the door making his way in, hell resonated in his ears.

RWatHT Master List
In the HP fandom there are an innumerable amount of pairings between one or two characters. In this post I'll go over the ships that I like or have like in the past regarding the characters inside the Golden Trio. Be aware that all of this is only my opinion and in no way do I think that other ships are invalid because of what I like. This is just for fun.
I always felt that Harry needed someone fun in his life. As someone who is constantly pessimistic and a "realist" regarding the future of his life Harry is sometimes unable to have a positive thought unless absolutely necessary (Patronus Charm).
There's a reason he enjoyed Ron's company a lot more than Hermione, Ron was there to remind him not what necessarily mattered, but what was also important in any person's life: fun.
So who better for Harry Potter than his best friend:
Who else but the first dynamic duo that Harry was a part of? Ron has been with Harry from the start. He has never been afraid to call out Harry when needed and he was even Harry favorite person.
The two could play Quidditch together and spend time doing things the two love doing seeing as they're almost two peas in a pod. And I'm about 92% sure that at some point Harry had a crush on Ron.
However, if Ron was not available for Harry or played for the other team there is a person who is just like him. Only with longer hair:
Just like Ron, except Ginny has boobs. I think from a standpoint she is one of the few people who could truly understand what it's like to have Voldemort constantly in their mind. She understands him in a way that Ron never could.
This is my OTP for Harry, but Rarry comes a close second. And what comes third is a bit more interesting. Harry needs someone that can take off his mind from Voldemort, someone who understands him as well as someone who knows what it's like to live through what he lived through:
Luna and Harry have a lot in common, but one thing that Harry could relate to the year he met Luna is being an outcast and an outsider.
Even in his previous years Harry had always been an outsider, someone who outside their choice became someone not relatable and uneasy to comprehend. Luna was an outcast because of her choice to be eccentric.
Who else would know what it's like to lose someone in front of your eyes but Luna?
Ah yes, the youngest of the Weasley boys. Ron is someone who is always positive, funny and quite optimistic. Like we previously mentioned he is good for Harry, but is Harry good for him? Ron is not necessarily attracted to looks in fact he advised Harry against choosing someone purely for their look at the end of OoTP.
Ron is quite insecure and always needs someone who is aware of his achievements and what he's capable of. Someone who notices who he is and doesn't think he's just Harry's sidekick:
My OTP since I was eleven years old. Brains and brawn. Beauty and beast. Opposites attract. Friends to lovers. Is there something these two lovebirds can't do?
Hermione knows Ron, he has seen him at his worse as well at his best. He knows truly just how brave and courageous he is, as well as how kind and loyal he can be. Wether it was the moment they met, or during the disastrous Yule Ball, Ron was destined for Hermione and vice versa.
Someone who reminded him of serious important stuff, someone who challenged him without making him feel inadequate or stupid, someone who could calm his nerves before his first Quidditch match.
However, there had been times where Hermione has been too blunt or simply doesn't acknowledge Ron as a person. Who is someone that could be more perceptive:
What else is there to say? From the moment the two of them met Luna thought Ron was funny and even expressed interest in having gone with Ron to the Yule Ball last year. Ron for his part thought she was... Looney.
That opinion however changed and throughout his fifth year and her fourth year he became aware of just how amazing she was. He even said so himself. Luna thinks well of Ron and has seen him in the face of danger, however she is also aware of his bluntness and isn't the type of person to stay quiet when it's clear he is less than nice.
But perhaps this is not enough praising? Who else could honestly praise Ron's achievements even more?:
To be honest I'm in the fence about this pairing. On one hand I love Ron and Hermione together and Lavender puts a wedge between the two. On the other I like the fact that Lavender likes Ron for who he is and isn't afraid to show her affection for him.
Unlike Hermione she didn't waste the chance to show her feelings for Ron by kissing him right after his first Quidditch Match. At the time I think Lavender was good for Ron as she took notice of him when Ron thought not even Hermione did. I think if Hermione was out of the picture she would be a really good partner to Ron.
Now, let's not forget something in common with this girls: Wisdom and intellect. Hermione, Luna and Lavender are all incredible clever at something in particular. Wether is books, wise advice, or Divination, so it seems that Ron is attracted to brains, how ironic considering his scars.
An honorable mention goes to Romionuna (A Ron, Hermione and Luna Polyamorous Pairing) I once stumbled across this ship in a fic and it left me quite a good taste.
The brightest witch of her age. Hermione was definitely the hardest of the three to pair with with as she is quite a special character. I think hers is probably the shortest of every list here.
And that is because there is only one name on this list. Ronald Bilius Weasley is the only one for Hermione Granger and that is a fact. Even though I despise The Play That Shall Not Be Named I need to give them props for one thing only. The way that Ron and Hermione interact with each other. Even in a world where they never get together Hermione still pines for Ron and vice versa.
He makes her laugh, relax and is the source of most of her fun in the Wizarding World. He loves her and she loves him and guess what. It's canon. That's right, it doesn't matter if you dislike it because it happened and it's perfect and this presentation is done.
Potters Look Quite Like Gingers Nowadays
Can't believe someone actually asked, but I'm happy to respond.
This one is a One-Shot Crack Fic I'm working on from book 2 to the final book.
Basically, Snape finds out about the whole Malfoy calling Hermione a mudblood incident in Chamber of Secrets, but instead of being angry at Malfoy for saying mudblood he projects himself onto him, and basically tries to set them up.
He fails because Hermione finds Malfoy repulsive and Malfoy really doesn't want to date Hermione, but still does what Snape tells him to because he's scared of his unstable Potions Professor.
Snape also begins to let go of his hatred for Harry and begins concentrating it on Ron, that's where the title comes from. I've just written a couple of paragraphs, but I hope it will turn out okay.
Snape stared at Malfoy with such hatred, such repulsion and anger. That when Draco Malfoy finally raised his head, he realized he was looking into himself. The young Malfoy's grey eyes reflected his own dark and slumping figure, and there he realized they were one in the same. Two poor souls, unable to...
To be with the one they loved…
Yes, poor Malfoy truly had screwed it up. He had screwed it up far earlier than he had. With the exact same horrible word that had cost him his Lily. And then the disappointed came in, this world was so wretched that it could never let two tortured souls be with the one they love.
Malfoy stared up at him, and Snape then realized he so hope. Desperation. Fear. A thousand emotions that swam in his eyes. Surely, it was hope for Snape to fix this situation. Desperation for him and his lovely muggle-born Gryffindor to belong together. Fear of losing her forever.
"Mr. Malfoy," he said in his normal stern voice. He gulped, the poor boy he truly was scared of losing his Lil–Hermione. "Do not worry."
And then his previous frown became a slow smirk that overtook his features.
"You are not losing her," Snape continued. "I'll do everything in my power to get you and Ms. Granger together."
The poor boy, he was so excited he became almost petrified.
“We’ll take a quick break,” said Hufflepuff. “Before the duels start. Feel free to head to the Great Hall for a quick meal. Champions you may go first. Next, it is the students’ turn. And then, the professors’ and the staff.”
The Champions stood up and looked at each other, before Ron held his stomach. All four of them were hungry as they had eaten nothing that morning as they were preparing for their entrances. The four stared at each other before they began walking towards the same direction, then Cedric glanced at his right looking at Luna and sped up slightly. Ron looked to his own right seeing Cedric speeding up and he too sped up. It only took all but four seconds for the four of them to begin sprinting towards the Great Hall.
When Ron arrived at the Great Hall, neck to neck with the others he found himself staring at the feast prepared for the whole school. He looked at the others, Luna for some reason had a panting smile on her face, while Cedric held a smirk of his own. Daphne Greengrass, however, was the only one similar who seemed completely serious.
The four dug in as they sat at their separate tables. Ron couldn’t help but to stare at Daphne Greengrass as she elegantly cut her food before putting a piece of steak in her mouth and chewing slowly like a real snob.
Ron for his part didn’t really care about being appropriate as he shoved entire spoonfuls of food inside his mouth.
‘She’s bloody crazy,’ thought Ron. ‘Honestly, she cut that graphorn like it was nothing. She’s so–’
——————————————————————————————————
‘Bloody annoying,’ thought Daphne. ‘There’s no way anyone, and Ron Weasley at that, can get that good in such a short amount of time. It’s so obvious he’s just a–’
——————————————————————————————————
‘Bloody maniac is what she is.’
Students began to pour in the Great Hall, the professors’ close behind the large group of students. Most of the students came barreling through the entrance and went straight to the Champions as they congratulated them. Harry and Hermione sat beside Ron.
“That was amazing, Ron,” she said as she sat down hugging him. Ron’s ears went red. “Are you sure you’re alright?”
“Y-yeah,” said Ron, clearing his head. “Yeah, I’m alright. Madame Pomfrey only said it was a broken rib, nothing she couldn’t fix.”
Ron’s friends nodded, before they had to do a double take as they watched the Gryffindor Champion continue with his meal as if he hadn’t just revealed a critical injury for most people.
“What?!” almost everyone exclaimed.
“What?” said Ron looking around as he swallowed the piece of steak he had been chewing. “It’s nothing, really.”
“Nothing?!” shrieked Hermione. “Ron, a broken rib is a serious injury, you can’t just say it’s nothing!”
“Oh come on,” said Ron. “This stuff would make Dementors blush.”
“No, seriously, Ron,” continued Hermione, her tone a mix of worry and admonishment. “You broke your arm during the last Quidditch Match and just put it back as if it was nothing, and then there was about a month and a half ago when Harry and I found you passed out on the floor of the Quidditch Locker Rooms, Gryffindor had said that you had been too exhausted from your training with him and you still went to Quidditch Practice.”
——————————————————————————————————
As Hermione said all this Ron tried his best not to choke on a piece of pork he had shoved in his mouth a little too forcefully. The two continued to throw argument after argument before they decided to resign themselves to their meals.
Harry stared between his two best friends, and while just a few weeks ago he would’ve been relieved to see them bicker like always he internally called his past self from three weeks ago a fool.
——————————————————————————————————
Hufflepuff clapped loudly and everyone stopped what they were doing, excited for the next part of the Match that day. The duels. Everyone made their way back to the Quidditch Pitch. Ron watched as Harry, Hermione, Ginny and the twins were taking to the Gryffindor high tower in the stands as he’d asked. Other people were also brought to other towers, Sue Li, Neville and Padma Patil went to the Ravenclaw tower, while Ernie MacMillan, Hannah Abbott and Tamsin Applesbee were led to the Hufflepuff one. Ron wasn’t surprised to see that only Astoria Greengrass, Daphne’s sister, had been chosen for the Slytherin tower.
The sorting hat once more began to float, but this time she went to each and one of the Champions. Like Gryffindor instructed Ron, he put a piece of parchment with his name inside the hat as did the other from what he could see.
The hat floated to the side of the field and began to murmur before seemingly chewing on nothing, before he spat something out. A small ball of parchment paper suddenly exploded into a ball of fire, and Ron seemed to appear in the middle of the air, with his Tournament robes and sword. His name appeared above the sort of translucent image of him.
The hat spat something out once more, once more a small ball of parchment paper was spat into the air, but this time it turned into dust and exploded into a small sand balloon. Cedric with his robes, wand and mallet appeared in the air looking like a ghost, similar to Ron. His name above him.
“Ron Weasley and Cedric Diggory, make your way to the field!” Shouted the sorting hat.

Great Work! A scene that when I first read broke me in more than one way!
Hey silver doe anon…
Its funny cause since I started this in like, February, you can see my drawing style shift a bit, lol.
Oh boy, did I feel sad drawing the end :,D
Also, yes, I know, I still need to work on backgrounds.
This... Just this!
I always felt like out of the Golden Trio, only Harry and Ron's friendship was the most balanced. On the other hand, in Harry and Hermione's friendship, Harry doesn't do much for Hermione as much as Hermione does for him. For Romione, It's Ron who always puts the most effort in the relationship with Hermione while she hardly reciprocates equally back. Please send to vivithefolle and I really am a fan of her Ron analyses.
yes, I completely agree with you!
@vivithefolle hi, someone wanted you to see this :)
