Cont. from this but in a diff style bc there’s no style consistency here ☺️✌️
what if you were a MED STUDENT and it was you FIRST SHIFT in emergency medicine and then you spilled MYLANTA on yourself and you had to CHANGE YOUR SCRUBS and then a patient BLED all over you and you had to CHANGE YOUR SCRUBS and RIGHT AFTER THAT a boy BARFED BLOOD all over you and you had to CHANGE YOUR SCRUBS and then a some guy PEED on you and you had to CHANGE YOUR SCRUBS and you looked like a BABY OWL
How cute would it be if Dennis started calling Trinity “Tom Sawyer” as a nickname since her initials are T.S. and since she already calls him Huckleberry? 🥰
i can’t stop thinking about sang-woo’s suicide attempt. more specifically, little details surrounding that.
on the floor, we see a pile of cigarettes and ash, an empty bottle of soju, a trash bag filled with wrappers of what i’m going to assume are some kind of food or beverage… and shaving cream. which means it is more likely than not that sang-woo shaved himself before his suicide attempt. (he also does look cleanly shaved as well)
further more, when calling his mother, he’s not wearing the jacket of his suit. we see him put it back on. it wasn’t a spur of the moment decision; he willingly got in the bathtub with his suit on, assuming he was going to die.
so sang-woo made sure that even in death, he looked presentable and clean. he doesn’t want to be found a mess, because he’s meant to be better than a mess, and he wants people to think highly of him, even if he’s dead.
oh, the sheer irony of his actual death being messy.
look how far we’ve come.

also, it still breaks my heart that sang-woo was never able to tell his mother he loves her. while yes, he did get interrupted by the customer, i feel he also held back because of the things that had happened.
he’d basically jeopardized his mother because of his own wrongdoings, and he hadn’t really been the son she thought he was for the past couple years. that alone feels like a betrayal on its own.
and he’s basically drowning himself in shame and guilt that maybe he’s tricked his psyche into thinking “well, if you really loved your mother, none of that shit would have happened.”
I actually cannot get over how the pitt is so good at like. trusting its viewers to catch onto things while fully not giving any information at all. I don't know if I explained that correctly. but we literally are not told a single thing unless it's immediately relevant to the story or one of the characters.
we don't learn about mckay's ankle monitor until it goes off, and we never even learn why it's there because it's not immediately relevant to anything going on. we don't learn the details of why langdon needs the pills, only that the pills stem from something that happened to him. abbot's prosthetic is never mentioned until the very end because, shit, dude, he's probably in so much pain after that shift he needed to take it off to relax. nothing is explained because the characters know what they've gone through and they don't feel the need to talk about it, or it's not necessary for them to talk about it. and when we learn about stuff from the environment or the way the characters are acting, like with princess and perlah's friendship and javadi's insistence on being taken seriously and literally everything between collins and robby. it's all storytelling through implication and sometimes it's really obvious (like with javadi) and sometimes it's not (like with langdon) and sometimes it's just really good for setting up character reveals (like with santos).
this show is kind of a masterclass on the perfect balance of showing and telling, and it knows exactly when to use one, the other, or neither. and somehow it works every time???? jesus christ I need the writers team to win everything during the upcoming awards season.
what the fuck did they inject into Karma (2025)'s theme to make it that good?
dr john shen clocking in early as attending (after having been one for only 3 months) on this fucky ass day because there's an MCI and then once things start slowing down a kid comes in with measles and his parents are being unreasonable and while he deals with that he has to deal with those two old white men refusing to end their damn shifts and one of the day shift residents almost gets fucking arrested and there's an 18-year-old in custody in one of the rooms who will likely stay there all night with his sad mum and the day shift attending just showed a patient's father the fucking make-shift morgue and then right when they're about to close trauma a man's pelvic gets crushed and he has to stand there and listen to walsh and abbot argue over what is supposed to be his patient, really, and he can see the day shift attending dissociate for ten solid minutes and no one's even told him there are two rats still loose in his damn department and abbot calls him a nerd
