I just came up with a fun way to remember when to use effect or affect.
Think about: Affect-ion
You give affection and are thus effected positively.
Affect is the intrusion or the causation and effect is the solution.
The rain affects the garden by watering it. The garden is effected by the rain.
Affect refers to an action that will/is/has interrupted the previous norm. Effect refers to the act of being influenced by something else

the amount of pride i’m feeling is too much to fit in my chest. this album is storytelling at its finest. as if somehow the lyrics weren’t enough, louis tells a story with his choice of melody, the guitar riffs, the way he uses his voice. the album’s version of dlibyh manages to be even gentler than the single version and i honestly didn’t think that was possible. i swear that soft guitar in the pre-chorus and chorus feels like a hug (or should i say ‘a cuddle’?). too young is literally the kind of tender conversation that happens after the fight is over, like the clear sky after a huge storm. i know we’ve talked at length about walls, but it’s impossible not to mention it when talking about this album. i think there’s a reason why it’s positioned right in the middle. i think it’s meant to be the core and it feels like the core. it feels like the culmination of something, the moment things take a turn and you start to heal. habit, much like too young, makes me feel like i’m intruding on a private conversation. that delicate “god, i’m missing you and your addictive heart” sounds like a sigh sang out loud. and don’t even get me started on the way his voice takes a brighter, more optimistic tone when he starts to sing the princess park verse. it took 0.05 seconds for the first few notes of always you to put the biggest smile on my face and i think that says everything about the song. it’s the exhilaration and wholehearted happiness you feel when you finally get it right. fearless had me shaking in awe because louis has got the fucking pen, ladies and gentlemen. that man can write. the lyrics on that song? holy fucking shit? it’s a love letter to the braver, younger, more genuine version of us that we all have locked somewhere inside of our chests. his VOICE in perfect now. he could be singing about cows in a field and it would still feel like a blanket with how sweet & warm he sounds. the tender “just wanna be loved by yoOoOou” in the bridge of defenceless physically gripped my heart and squeezed. i think only for the brave will be one of those that has a personal meaning to everyone, but, to me, it talks about letting go of your pride, your rules and your past beliefs & completely opening your heart to something, and it makes so much sense that louis would choose that one to close this album. i think the highest compliment i can give Walls (2020) is that anyone that listens to it will feel like they know louis. you can hear his soul in every song. you can hear his determination, his grief, his regrets, his redemption, his kindness, his admiration, his selfless love. by the end of the 12th song, i’m nowhere near tired of the raspiness in his voice, i just want more. more of his voice, more of his words and story, more of his heart.
louis always being so consistent in readily embracing his vulnerablity while never being ashamed of his softer side as a man and breaking down the wall of toxic masculinity is so important

So I’m seeing people in deep denial that louis mural is not a rainbow. So I’m here as the logical guidance you’ve all been looking for to help make less of a fool of yourselves.
So firstly no. No it’s not a rainbow. It’s actually a tv test pattern. Here’s the proof:

A rainbow follows the Roy g biv pattern, there is no other order for a rainbow to exist. Rainbows in nature are Roy g biv and rainbows on pride flags are too. So people can stop saying “the mural is so loud” “I’m so proud of Louis” “they’re going to be free soon” because that’s not what it is. It’s not a signal, it’s not a sign, it’s a design that has to do with a broken tv, look it even has static to go with it. You can still be proud of Louis but be proud of his album, his music NOT his sexuality which this has NOTHING to do with.

Due to recent events, I’be been thinking about the “Adore You” music video. At first I used to think Louis was the/ represented by the fish, but then I thought, maybe Louis is the sun…
Perpetual cloud cover for as long as anyone can remember. It’s the contract. They’ve been under contract for their whole career.
So the cloud cover is the contract.
And the cloud cover makes it so the sun can’t come out.
Louis is the sun and he can’t come out because of the contract.
Harry is the boy. He is on Eroda, on the other side of the clouds, separated from the sun.
Because of their contract, Harry can’t be around Louis, they are separated from each other.
The boy/Harry and everyone else on Eroda (the fans/Larries?) are sad because they/Harry do not have the sun.
But when the cloud cover breaks - when the contract breaks/ends - the sun - Louis - can come out. And this makes Harry and everyone else on the island happy because they can be together.
They are no longer separated by cloud cover. Louis and Harry can be together when the clouds - their contract - breaks.

This suggests that Louis and the other person making up this “we” I wonder who are still together and still making it. It brings their relationship from past tense, memories of college and band days to today.

Yes, I totally believe that Louis doesn’t know any of the connotations behind rainbows at all. I 100% believe that Louis, a man who has been plagued by rampant gay rumors for a decade, has no idea what a rainbow might mean. I am fully convinced that Louis, a man who has been rumored to be with another male his whole career, is absolutely ignorant when it comes to the implications of rainbows. I guarantee that Louis, a man who staged bears who just so happened to have rainbow fur, is just a mega fan of gradients. I am so fucking certain that Louis is completely oblivious to the associations rainbows have with the LGBTQ+ community when he personally responded to commentary on his rainbow shirt years ago. You know what? I don’t even think Louis knows what a “““““rainbow””””” is. Actually, I KNOW for a a FACT that Louis William Tomlinson has never seen or heard of this so-called rAiNbOw at all. He is so Straight™, that his retinas are incapable of processing the full color spectrum. He sees only grey.
