some writing tips that i need to remember and thought some might be helpful

okay so just write, it doesn't matter if you hate the words or not just get them on paper, you're going to change it in the editing process anyway

if you want to write in a specific style write in whatever style you can at the time, it is easier to change words that exist if you're unfamiliar with the style than create them from scratch

if you hate your writing at the time you can always go back and rewrite

rewriting is your best friend, don't be afraid of highlighting a text you hate, I promise you if you reread it the next day or even like an hour later you won't hate it as much

To all the people who constantly zoned out and daydreamed as a kid and probably told off for it, who learnt how to cry silently before the age of ten and maybe stopped crying entirely, who used books as an escape method and would constantly daydream about running off to a fantasy world, who is most likely now a burnt-out neurodivergent who didn't get diagnosed early so they self-diagnosed instead, and who now wants to groan at the thought of having to wake up another day,

how's the childhood trauma, deep-rooted love hate relationship with your parents, lack of self-esteem and sense of self, and raging queerness doing? you good?

I feel so called out

little life update, got in a wreck and i haven't stopped thinking about it

"don't worry about it" i say while spending nights directing what I did to make you do that to me

I be like “yeah we cool” then never feel comfortable interacting with u again

Listen. If you think writing fanfiction is cringe please know that I am currently pursuing my Masters degree in Creative Writing for fiction and I want you to know that most of the people in my graduate program either read fanfiction, write fanfiction, or do both. I promise you: cringe is dead. Write whatever you want. Do whatever makes you happy.

and maybe real success looks like

a regulated nervous system.

not comparing yourself to others.

a kind inner dialogue.

being able to show up for yourself.

being able to let go.

knowing your own worth.

having authentic connections.

having good boundaries.

living a life that makes sense to you.
