I’ve been publishing some stories on AO3 for like a year now, and I’m having trouble updating them. Not updating them gives me pressure because there are many people who like it and I feel bad for not updating for so long. I’m going through school and it’s consuming all my time. Also, I have trouble writing because of my perfectionism and belief that I’m not a good enough writer. I constantly compare myself to others, such as how long my story is and how many likes there are. It’s annoying and unhealthy.
I want to stop these habits and have a healthier mindset. Can I have some advice on how to do that please?
Can I also have advice on:
-What to do when you have writer’s block
-How to write the beginning of chapters
-How to stop striving so hard for perfection
Thank you to anyone who answers or likes! 😁💕
I can't write more than 200 words without needing to close wattpad entirely and leaving it to simmer for 4 hours 😭
sorry I haven't been posting a lot.i really want to but I have zero ideas.i litterly started a different blog before working on smth here. I need ideasss😔
Man all these cool werewolf ideas make me wanna write
Hey, so if a person gets bit by a werewolf they become a werewolf. If a werewolf bites an animal, then one of two things can happen:
Every full moon, the animal turns into a wolf, or nothing happens, depending on if you want to have your sheep learning self-defense every full moon.
What do you want me to post? Just reply in the comments what you want me to write. No art, sorry. Also, I RAN OUT OF IDEAS!!
Stephen King's book On Writing is a great read, part biographical, part a look on his career, and part writing guide, reading this it's easy to see why his prose is so approachable. Even if you're not a Stephen King fan this book can at least be top tier beach reading material.
oh, what a good story idea
Hey, that's an even better story idea
Wow, that would be amazing to write
*Stares at screen*
I’m not a perfectionist, but finding a typo or a grammatical error in my own already-published fic is like stepping on a Lego honestly
Okay so first of all, I use c.ai and CHAI ai (no shame), and I've recently started making bots on them and like- i'd love it if people would use my bots so... here:
https://character.ai/profile/VexoSilentO
I'll post links to my CHAI characters if you want them
but also I wanted to say that i'm bored and have no social life so if you want me to make you a bot, tell me and I gladly will lol.
SECOND: I'm a Wattpad writer who has no idea what to write.. please request fanfics, give me ideas, etc..
im basically begging for ya'll's help with this post TvT anywaysssss
Love all of you, and in case no one's told you recently: You're doing great, and I'm so proud of you <3
as Hunter Wittebane once said...
“Bastard!”
“You’ll regret saying that to me, princess.”
“You guys really suck with the nicknames, ya know that right?” (Go figure I say that with an already forming shiner)
‘Man, I really know how to piss people off. Just lovely.’
I s’pose I ought to tell ya exactly who I am ‘long with how I get myself into issues like that.
Experiencing writers block please give me prompts for a pjo, hoo, totk/botw/eow or Arcane fanfic (if you see this don't just like and repost please give me a prompt)
P.S No smut, furthest I'll go is a makeout or 2 but I can write fluff, angst or action. I write for literally any character, please just request something (might not be great at eow fanfics cus I only got it yesterday and I'm stuck on the fight with Jabu Jabu)
Defo gonna try this.
I cannot take credit for this idea–I read it somewhere on the NaNo forums last year, and since they’re wiped yearly the post I saw is long gone. Someone awesome who isn’t me came up with this, but I love it and want to share it.
Here’s what you do:
Set a timer for 5 minutes and sprint. Record your word count–I played this morning and got 188 words.
Okay, double that to set your goal for the next sprint, 10 minutes. I needed 376 words; I actually wrote 481. Go me!
Double that (my new goal is 962) and do a 20-minute sprint. Oops! I failed the first time, and only wrote 870 words.
If you fail at the goal, you have to try again instead of doubling. My second try: a measly 737. I was getting tired.
I took a break and did some tumblring, then tried a third time.
After a while, I realized I hadn’t actually started my timer, when I thought “Shouldn’t it have gone off by now?” and saw it sitting at 0:00.
But I’d written 1,443 more words, bringing my total for the day to almost 4K. Success, even if I wasn’t actually playing the game anymore.
(If I had reached that goal, the next step would be to double it and do a 40-minute sprint–I’ve tried that twice before and never managed to make it. Fatigue sets in for me, and my most effective writing-time length seems to be 15-20 minutes max, if I’m going for speed. Give it a try, certainly, to see if it works for you!)
*confused but considerably motivated* Hell yeah! Let's get this shiz *proceeded to half ass write fourteen different plot lines but fell asleep*
*kicks down door* only I can say my writing sucks! You’re not allowed to say your writing sucks! You’re writing! You’re doing more than any fucking tech bro could ever pay for! *leaps out window*

Okay, I have an itty-bitty problem. I have writer’s block. Like bad. The worst part is I just hit 200 followers and I really want to celebrate, but I don’t know how. This feels terrible. Does anybody have literally any suggestions for getting over this? Please help me, my brain feels empty.
screams into the void
SOMEONE PLEASE DOSE ME WITH UNREGULATED AMOUNTS OF MOTIVATION TO FINISH OFF THE REST OF MY FICS
RAAAAAAAAAAAAA
My secret to writing when I have writers block is writing anyway and going "this sucks ass this sucks ass" over and over as I write until I get a large chunk done, then I stop and come back to it and then correct it and then I have an alright portion to work with and finish the rest unsatisfied then do the same thing and go back to it and then im done
I have so many fics planned(Over 100) with the plots ready to go but no will to actually write them
I miss the joy of writing i'm lacking motivation for it. I can't even do my assessments.
I want to feel the words flowing from my brain to paper.
I want to see all the characters come alive in my head.
I want to be able to escape this life and write another.
I want to see my favourte charates have their happy ending they desver.
I want ideas to become reality.
as a reader, I LOVE a slow burn
as a writer, I hate them <3
