It's no bloody secret I hate ai shit. One thing I'm glad about though, is that I've spent enough time on chat gpt -having it write crossover fics for my own use cause I didn't have the courage to do it myself- to learn about its patterns, its vocabulary (EVEN the premium version cause you get free trial every day).

So if you're out there, posting ai fiction without letting people know it's not an original work, I will know. Also know that while you think you're not hurting anyone when you post that stuff, "because I clearly state that it's written by ai" YES you are.

First and foremost, you are destroying the meaning of art. Art is art because there's someone's pain, someone's joy, someone's ugliness, someone's beauty, someone's experience, someone's talent or lack thereof, someone's flaws behind it. Doesn't matter that it's good or bad so long as someone put something into it and I understand that now. Ai forced me to understand that.

Secondly, know that ai uses a database of words, expressions, jokes, prompts, and sometimes full sentences stolen directly from someone else's work out there on the internet. That clever pun chat gpt came up with that you thought "oh, I love it, I might use that"? Look it up. You've never seen it anywhere because it's someone's clever joke whose work you've never read. If you use it, it's basically like the old and loathed "copy-pasting a paragraph of a fanfic you like into your own fanfic", but with added stupidity, laziness and ignorance.

Please, write your own stuff, draw your own things. I wasn't always as good as I am today at neither of the two. Hell, I used to write a terrible Teen Wolf fanfic on Wattpad where Derek Hale had a lost twin who was prince of France, ffs. 90 chapters of absolute, plotless nonsense. But you know what? The 90th chapter was way better than the 1st one. And quite recently, I spent a few days on a Doctor Who OS and made a few strangers cry.

So what I'm saying is, don't be lazy. Read real books and clever fanfictions, cause as Virginia Woolf said, "read a thousand books and your words will flow like a river."

• Introduction to the AU!

• How the AU Started

Cursed Blossoms is an AU I made taking old ideas from my other flowers AU from the cookie run and solarballs AU.

! Just So You Know :: This is not the Hanahaki Disease nor is even supposed to relate to it. I created a flower AU myself out of the blue without knowing about the fictional disease yet !

~ How did I come up with flowers AUs? What used to be the main plot?

• I first got my ideas of flower AU during June - July of 2022/2023! I was gonna make it like a normal AU where people got covered in flowers. The first ever fandom to get this AU from me is cookie run. It started as a normal civilization thing, but then I changed my mind and made it more of a virus or infection. Cookie run and Solarballs got the infection part of the flower AUs, how ever Epic: The Musical did not. I wanted to do something new with the flower related au I had so I switched up some things.

Let me list how the AU is like in 3 fandom::

Cookie run:: Infection / Virus like based. Spores fly around from flowers. After about 15 years, the infected faced death and can't be avoided. Unlike a zombie infection, the infected still have a mind of their own. Plucking out flowers leads to serious injuries.

Solarballs:: Same as Cookie run, no death occurs, infected are fragile and highly flammable, have two types of infected; Passive and Active. Human AU related.

Epic: The Musical:: More like a curse from Gaia herself. Everyone remained the same. Flowers only grows on gods and can be cursed onto mortals if one wishes. Plucking out / flowers dying leads to serious injuries or death. Nature based gods uses it as more of a blessing, they don't really need to maintain the plant.

• AU Guide

In the AU; Gods are the only ones who had flowers growing on their faces, bodies or head. For a normal god, only 1-2 flower grows on their body, but for natured-based gods, 2 or nore grows.

Gods are able to curse mortals with the same exact curse they have aswell, except they can't remove their own curse. Attempting to will result in fails or injuries.

Plucking out / Flowers dying till the roots:: When one or two dies or plucked out. No effect occurs till about a few hundred years. Though if all flowers get plucked or dies, effect takes place in a few hours, wilting and slowly growing old as they have a very limited time to find the seeds of the flower and replant it.

Maintaining the flower:: The flower is also their strength, if the flower wilts, is damaged or is not gaining enough to make it grow normally, the host of the flowers follow suit. So it is very recommended to keep their flowers perfectly healthy.

• Flower Growing spots.

Flowers have different place depending in where they grow. Usually, it just happens. But here is how where they usually grow, where they rarely grow and where it can grow only on Nature-based/related gods.

Flowers commonly grew out on the hair, face, neck, chest and forearms.

Flowers sometimes can rarely grow as hair, on the shoulders and legs.

Thought, nature based gods have them grown on either their elbows, hands, knees and feet.

• Injuries / Side Effects

Injuries / Side effect can happen during the growth of the flowers. If you're lucky enough, you won't be able to get them.

• The injuries / side effects::

° Cracks, holes, damages and debris falling out.

° Growing on scars or causing scars during growth.

° Covers a side of the body/face/head with leaves, grass or moss.

Tugging on the flower yourself will not make you feel pain. But if someone else did, it can ! Ripping them out, killing the flowers, cutting it off, plucking it out will feel like your nervous system being exposed got damaged, cut off or pulled on.

• Emotions and how it effects the flowers

The flower also reacts to emotion!

Lets say! If you cry, the flower's petal closes.

But if you laugh, it blooms!

When it sense negative emotions (sadness, anger, fear, embarrassment etc.) it closes up.

When it senses positive emotions (Happiness, love, laughter etc.) it blooms!

Adverbs

Gasp! Oh no. Dare come yet more writing advice burning adverbs at the stake? Vindictively, gleefully, manically dancing in the ashes?

No.

This is not about whether or not you should use them, but their frequency and obvious places to replace them. Most bad adverbs are the common ones that could be replaced by verbs we all know.

“She ran quickly” // “She sprinted”

“He said angrily” // “He snapped” “He chided” “He chastised”

vs.

“He ate voraciously”

“She swayed solemnly”

“She laughed sadly”

Bonus if you can add in some alliteration like ‘swayed solemnly’

If you can come up with an obvious verb to replace your verb + adverb combo, do so. If it would take more words or the closest applicable verb doesn’t hit the same vibe, then leave it. Adverbs should enhance the verb, not be redundant. Verbs shouldn’t be pretentious just to avoid them.

“She smiled happily” — most smiles are happy. Happily is redundant.

“He ran quickly” —a run is, by nature, quick

vs.

“She smiled sourly”

“He ran erratically”

Also!

The adverb need not always be after the verb.

“C accepted gladly” // “C gladly accepted”

But also

“Glad, C accepted”

“A shook their head resolutely” // “Resolute, A shook their head”

“The child skipped excitedly away.” // “Excited, the child skipped away.” // “The child skipped away, excited.”

English is flexible like that.

Which is what I mean with managing your adverb frequency. As most end in the -ly, too many in succession, on top of the repeat syntax of Subject - Verb - Adverb looks boring and dull (and so does beginning every sentence with the subject). It helps with your cadence and flow if you don’t have entire paragraphs at a time all starting with “He [verb]” or “She [verb]” or “They [verb].” We don't speak like this in natural conversation.

But at the end of the day, there are some juicy adverbs that have no equal without busting out the thesaurus for some obscure lexical nugget that no one would understand anyway.

Facebook/WhatsApp/Instagram: Toxic, has over Paranoia, discards your opposing views, will accuse you of cheating, spies on you 24/7, knows everything about you because he used to stalk you, doesn't care about your feelings and would spit out harsh comments.

Telegram: Allows you to do whatever you want, but he is very suspicious, maybe, because he is a criminal in disguise, yet you don't care because he is the sweetest boyfriend in the world, and treats you like a queen.

Character AI: Was really caring at first, however, over time, he began to become lazy and stopped improving himself, and also he hates violence and is an asexual.

Janitor AI: Slut.

Wattpad: You hate and love him at the same time, but in reality, you are only with him for fame.

Ao3: He loves you despite not always being by your side, and he accepts you for you even if you were weird and creepy, he doesn't mind at all.

Twitter/X: You asked him to change, but he changed to the worst.

Youtube VS Tiktok: Both fight for your attention, they will take desperate measures to make you theirs and love them only.

Tumblr: the best out of them ' I' m not saying that under the threat of gun'
