Phoenix leaving the Hard Deck to catch her Uber and a creepy guy follows her. Phoenix doesn't want to deal with some loser, but her ride is almost here so she'll hold off on confronting the guy. The guy gets closer and closer, no one around her is helping until Hangman steps in front of her. Pushes the guy away and stays with her until her ride is here. They both say nothing, thanks is understood and they go their ways.
Fanboy gets a flat tire and his phone is dead so he can't call anyone for help. There's no one there cause he's there late at Top Gun, he's concerned on how he's going to call for help. Then Hangman drives past in his truck, then turns around asking if Mickey''s okay. He gets told about the flat and Hangman nods getting out of his seat opening the backseat door to get out his Jack and wrench out. Jake fixes the tire and Fanboy thanks him and offers a beer as payment.
Rooster hurts his hand where he's unable to play the piano, except for his left hand. Gets called on to do a performance and he gets up, but Jake gets up with him. He beats rooster to the piano and starts testing the keys and Rooster is confused because he never knew Jake could play. Jake starts playing Piano Man so he could force Rooster to sing the song.
Bob signs himself up for a course learning about planes weeks in advance and forgets that he did until he gets an email reminding him. He reads the email and it mentioned having a partner to complete the course with. He has to find someone willing to go with him and he texts the group chat hoping for someone to be down to go with him. Everyone has some plans except for Hangman who said he'd do it. Bob's not sure about it, but he wants to go so he agrees and they meet up. Turns out Hangman is a big nerd when it comes to planes and they talk about their favorites. At the end of the course they get the chance to fly in the plane and parachute out of it. Hangman encourages Bob to jump and at the end of the day they talk about all the fun they had. Bob realizes that Jake is not as bad as he thought.
i am finally on winter break besties and as promised i am back with ✨️resistance posts✨️
so after thinking about it for a while i wanted to write some headcanons about what i think could have happened with Kaz after s2 of Resistance ( aka a fictional s3 )
-After rescuing Tam, team Fireball and the Colossuss finally manage to rendevouz with the Resistance on Ajan Kloss
- Poe is thrilled to see that Kaz is alive ( he will deny it if you ask, but he was worried sick about what had happened to the kid after he heard the Colossus was on the run)
- Kaz finally joins the resistance as a pilot, but since they are laying low he mostly deals with transporting things or guarding ships
-he is ocasionally sent as a spy to gather some intelligence and what not because despite what everyone might think he is actually competent at it
- speaking of intelligence, shortly after they arrive he learns that Commander Pyre actually survived all the havoc and so Kaz makes it his personal mission to find him and take him down.
- He tries to contact his parents but to no avail, Leia tells him that ever since the destruction of Hosnian Prime no one has heard of them ( apart from that one transmission in S2 that cinfirms they are alive )
- Kaz doesn't take this well, but Leia tells him since they are valuable targets they are probably laying low somewhere and assures him that she will help him find them
- Tam struggles to fit in at the beginning since everyone knows she used to be in the FO but with encouragement from Kaz and Torra she slowly begins to meet new people and make new friends
- Leia introduces Tam to Finn and the two inmediately become close, they bond over their past with the FO and Tam even teaches Finn to fly
- Kaz and Rey also become really good friends after she shows him how to fly the Falcon. They talk a lot about flying and ships, sometimes Kaz also asks her about her strange jedi powers because he still can't believe it is real
- Because Rey has only seen a few planets, she will sometimes ask Kaz to tell her everything about every planet he's ever been in, he willingly does so because he has travelled a lot and surprises himself by talking about Hosnian Prime, it feels surprinsingly good and healing to do so ( ugh i might actually write a snippet of this conversation later because it is too good to pass )
- Anyway, time goes on and suddenly almost a year has gone by, Rey has gone on her mission with Poe and Finn and suddenly everyone is on their way to Exegol
- i already wrote a little about Kaz at Exegol so let's keep it short and just say he kicks some imperial ass there
- After Exegol, Poe asks him to join Black Squadron to help him find and take down the remainings of the first order and Kaz accepts eagerly thinking this might be his opportunity to get Pyre (he wanted to get Hux as well but Poe tells him he doesn't need to worry about that anymore)
- He finally manages to contact his parents and as Leia said they were hiding on a farming planet
-they urge him to come back with them to the Core Worlds so they can start again, but Kaz feels that he still has a resposability with the resistance after the destruction of Hosnian Prime so he declines but tells them he will visit when he has time
- he can tell his parents disapprove, but it's not like he need their permission anymore
- Flying with Black Squadron is both thrilling and hard. He finally gets to spent a lot of time flying as he always wanted but they get the most dangerous missions, looking for some of the most dangerous people of the galaxy so Kaz has to remain sharp all the time ( but we already know he is a hell of a pilot tough)
- A lot of times the missions don't go to plan, hard decissions need to be taken, people get hurt and its hard for him to see how much control the First Order still holds over the galaxy and all the atrocities they commited on smaller planets
- Overall, cleaning up the mess of war is almost as bad as the war itself but Kaz still feels that he owes it to everyone he couldn't save to take down as much of the first order as he can
- After months of missions, he finally gets a promising lead on the location of Commander Pyre ...
that is it for now :) i'll make a part 2 in the next few days

new headcanon for the dialogue here:
rooster, pulling back from the hug, laughing to himself: “you know, I always dreamed of flying with you as a kid.”
mav, visibly touched, smiling like a doofus, probably concussed let’s be real: “hmm. and the verdict?”
rooster, exhausted smile, shaking his head, definitely concussed amirite: “absolutely never again.”
and then they laugh and the photo’s taken 📸❤️
@misanderousmisfit this was going to be super long and also I have a picture, so I decided just to make a post.
Okay, SO.
I just posted this gif with a new set, prompting @misanderousmisfit to say, "Wait how did I not notice that Mav takes his own wings and snaps them on the casket??!!!"
Then she asked for an explanation, and I am happy to provide one, not least of which because I actually already researched this and explained it to someone else like right after TGM came out.
What Maverick does with his wings at Ice's funeral is based on a tradition by the SEALs. Similar to naval aviators, Navy SEALs are given a specific pin that is unique to their role. Pilots have wings; the SEALs have what is called a Trident. It's a symbol not only of the group they belong to, but of all the work they had to do to acquire this specification.
When a SEAL team loses a member, the other members hammer their Tridents into the top of the casket. It's basically taking an incredibly valuable item and giving it to your friend as a sign of respect, and to show that a piece of you is going with him.
The reason they punch them into the casket like that is just to drive the metal into the wood, so the pins stay there.
Those are Maverick's wings. He is giving them to Ice to send a piece of him with him.
EOS stares at the soft, fluffy white material covering the ground at her feet. She must be making a face without realizing it, because almost immediately she hears John laugh.
“It’s snow, EOS! You know, frozen–”
“I am very well aware of what it is!” EOS snaps, mildly hurt that John didn’t think she knew what something as simple as snow was. “Snow is precipitation that has frozen into crystalline ice flakes and collected upon the Earth.” She’s still staring at it, however. Of course she knows academically what snow is, but she’s spent most of her existence on Thunderbird Five, or on a tropical island that never truly sees winter.
She’s never been this close to it before.
Cautiously, EOS takes a few steps forward, listening to the scrunchy noise the flakes make when ground together when stepped on. It’s strange, almost like hearing someone squeezing styrofoam, although not as squeaky. Her eyes are still fixed on the ground when something cold and slightly damp impacts the back of her head and breaks apart, spreading chunks of wet coldness through her hair. In shock, she turns back and is surprised to see a sheepish expression on John’s face, along with quite a lot of snow clinging to his knitted gloves.
“What–?” she says, that one word filled with so much meaning that it doesn’t truly need more added to it.
John’s face is very pink all of a sudden under the brighter red at his nose, ears and the tops of his cheek from the cold. Still, he’s smiling even with the apologetic bend to his eyebrows. “It was just a snowball– I’m sorry, I forgot– It’s just… the timing was perfect–” EOS still looks confused, not quite understanding the humor he’s taking from it. His eyes soften at how utterly lost she looks, and he walks over and gently brushes the snow from her hair.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to upset you. Here, let me show you.” He places his hand on her back, and she stoops down as he does, watching, then imitating how he scoops up a handful of snow. “You pack it together like this,” John says, demonstrating the motion, then dropping his own handful to guide her hands through it. When her first snowball emerges at last, lumpy and slightly misshapen though a good first effort, he stands up and gestures at himself. “You get a free hit. It’s only fair.”
EOS shakes her head vigorously. “I can’t throw something at you! I could throw too hard or I could hit you in an unprotected spot or…”
John raises his hands in surrender. “Fine, throw it at the ground then. But snowballs are meant to be thrown, EOS. It’s a game.”
Her eyes flit to him, then the ground, and then back again and he can practically see her processors working. After a few more glances, and even some off to the side in mild distress, she pulls her arm back and throws the snowball as gently as she can at him. It doesn’t even sting as it hits his coat and breaks apart, strewing bits of snow all over his chest.
“Was that so hard?” he asks, a kind smile on his face and in his voice. EOS shakes her head, a smile crossing her own face as she stoops down again, hands reaching for the snow below her.
When John finally tells her they have to go back inside before they’re missed, a good fifteen minutes later, both are lying on the ground, half-covered with snow and grins on their faces.
Iceman cannot start the day without coffee.
Maverick is not allowed to have coffee.
“Don’t you know how you’ve changed me? Strange how I finally see
I found Home You’re my Home Stay with me.” ~Home (reprise)“ From the finale of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (Broadway)
I know, I know, this is Virgil week and what am I doing putting up John art, but I’ve been working on this for a full week (or as much as the humidity allows) because I watched a local production of Beauty and the Beast and the song spoke to me. So I had to draw from it. I may see about coloring it (or having someone else color it, *wink wink*). But either way it was just so much fun getting to draw John and EOS in their uniforms again. <33
