I need straight people to shut the fuck up about chappell roan. I'm tired. "She's not using her platform" she was raising money for gaza at concerts with her friendship bracelets. "She's using the queer community" bitch she's a lesbian drag queen she IS the community. "She's so entitled now" she literally just won a Grammy and used that speech advocating for living wages and healthcare for all artists. What the fuck are you doing? Other than tone policing people actually putting the work in?
If I was desperate for kudos I would not be out here posting villain ships, minor character rarepairs, and other deeply unpopular ships.
I know how to write popular fic. I know how to farm kudos. That's not what I'm here for.

It means "even if writers write purely for themselves, if you don't bother to interact with writers when you do enjoy their work, they might stop posting and just keep their work to themselves."

This is not an attempt to scold anyone, I literally don't care if I get kudos or not. It's simply an attempt to remind people that fanfiction is a community, and fan authors can't read your mind.

If I could change one thing in the Harry Potter books, I’d make Lily’s hair a different color just so the “Ginny is a Lily clone/carbon copy!” takes that are based SOLELY on them having the same hair color yet are so prevalent and widely accepted would not exist (no, fanart and movies do not prove they look similar they’re not canon also they look nothing alike in the movies besides hair color what are you talking about I think you just believe all redheads look the same).

Ginny is such a fascinating character when you peel back her layers: beneath her bold, confident exterior is a girl fighting to carve out her own identity in a family where it’s easy to get lost. Being the youngest and the only girl in a family full of loud, opinionated boys? That’s a battle for space, for attention, for agency. And the way she navigates that pressure (sometimes through defiance, sometimes through sharpness) reveals both her strength and her wounds.
The Weight of Being "The Only Girl"
Ginny grows up in a household where gender roles, while never explicitly rigid, definitely shape how she is treated. Her mother dotes on her and clearly wants to protect her in a way she doesn’t with the boys. Molly’s love is fierce, but also stifling, especially for someone as independent as Ginny. Imagine how frustrating that must be when all your brothers are given more freedom while you’re constantly being watched.
This is a girl who grew up watching her brothers play Quidditch but was never invited to join them. She had to sneak out and practice on her own. Even from an early age, Ginny learned that if she wanted something, she had to take it for herself, no one was going to offer her a seat at the table.
And that kind of environment breeds a specific kind of defiance: I will not be ignored.
Why She’s So Sharp with Ron
Her relationship with Ron is especially charged because, in many ways, they’re both fighting for the same thing: respect. From Ginny’s perspective, it must feel infuriating, especially when she’s lived through things (like the Chamber of Secrets) that none of them fully understand.
Their friction isn’t just sibling rivalry, it’s a fight for autonomy, for recognition. They’re both clawing to be seen as themselves, not as the roles their family casts them in.
Her Distance from the Older Brothers
Ginny’s relationship with Bill, Charlie, and Percy is more distant, partly because they were already grown or gone by the time she came into her own, but also because she probably felt like she had to perform around them.
• Bill and Charlie: They’re the “cool, successful” older brothers, and it’s easy to imagine Ginny hiding parts of herself when they’re around. I imagine Ginny feels both loved and trapped by her mother. She’s proud to be a Weasley but unwilling to be defined by her family’s image.

Drunk Ginny's not so secret desires
Ginny could consume a reasonable amount of alcohol before she got drunk, at least if you took into consideration her complete body mass. Considering her short stature, it wasn’t all that much-—she was a bit lightweight. Something she was in denial of, and Harry was completely aware of.
She got combative with random people when she was drunk enough but if he was near, she was pretty docile and snuggly. So the safest thing for him to do was to stay in the booth with her and let her cuddle into his side while he watched his even drunker friends dance and spill beer over themselves.
“I want to have your babies.”
Harry’s gaze snapped down. “What?” he asked, not sure if he had heard her correctly.
“Your babies, Harry,” she said, slipping her hand over his chest.
His eyebrows rose in surprise. “What about your career?”
“I can do both,” she let out a very indignant tipsy huff. “Obviously.”
He chuckled. “Right. I’m sorry for questioning your capabilities.”
“We’d make cute babies,” she continued. “They’d have your brave heart and my...” She looked down at herself.
Harry waited to see what she was going to pick.
“My great hair.”
He squeezed her closer. “That’d be lovely.”
“Wouldn’t it be nice, Harry?” she said. “You’d be part of a family, with me. I’d look cute pregnant.” She whispered excitedly. “We could have a whole bunch of them!”
He set his coke down and sat up, holding her to him. “I’m taking you home.”
She got up with him. “To make babies?”
“No,” he said with a shake of his head. He pulled his leather jacket off the hook and wrapped it around her shoulders. “You’re on the potion.”
Her expression froze. “Oh.”
“We could practice though.”
Ginny’s eyes widened. “That’s very important,” she said with a tone of severity.
“Indeed.” He grabbed her hand. “Let’s go.”
Hermione appeared, smiling. “You’re going?”
“I’ve got to take her home,” Harry said, ignoring Ginny’s tugging on his hand.
She nodded excitedly. “We’re going to make babies.”
Hermione’s amused gaze slipped from him to her.
“That’s why,” Harry deadpanned.
Hermione laughed. “Yeah, don’t want to let her running loose like that.”
“Precisely,” Harry said with a chuckle, letting Ginny pull him towards the door.
“Oh, and Harry?” Hermione called his attention for another moment.
He turned towards her. “Yeah?”
“Don’t make any babies.”
Ginny popped her head out from behind his back. “Can’t make any promises.”
Harry shook his head. “She’s joking.”
Hermione bit back her smile. “I don’t think she is.”
“That’s the worrying part,” Harry said with a smile. He turned back to Ginny. “Come on, you.”
He waved once again as he let Ginny pull him out of the pub. He apparated them home and kicked off his shoes.
Ginny came up to him and wrapped her arms around him, her hands sensually running down his back.
“You’re going to be a handful, aren’t you?”
She batted her eyelashes at him. “I know you can handle me.”
All jokes aside my poor baby girl Ginny was GOING THOUGH IT in chamber of secrets. The way this fandom dismisses her trauma and removes her from the narrative is one of the bigger annoyances I have. She deserves so much more as a character.
