if i ever wrote a book or something that got popular and had a fandom i would make two characters relationship be unclear as to whether its romantic or platonic and post art I did of them together but vague as to the context that they're in so people would start to ship them and others would get annoyed because it's not canon and this would go on for two years. and then I'd show up on twitter after not posting for three months and say hey look at old fanart I did of ___ and ___ haha and it's a drawing from ten years ago of them making out
