The girl with the zipper marks on her cheeks...

Walked along wanting to open the zippers,

But they felt like they never would...

Questioning will she ever be strong enough?

But it was never about strength.

You shouldn't pull or tug the zippers,

It doesn't work, you pull them the skin will burn.

You simply wait.

One day the zippers will give a little and come undone with only the softest of prying.

The skin won't feel so tight wrapped around her body,

It won't burn anymore not in the way it used to.

Because the pain inside will be eased with less pressure and confinement.

To make room for peace...

Strawberries and Sweet Coffee

We have been climbing a hill for so long and today it felt like we almost reached the top,

There we sat the golden hour creeping in and your breath sang a tune of strawberries and sweet coffee.

There was a amber glow that doodled threw grass only to light up your already sparkling eyes,

I hadn't seen such a genuine smile for a very long time that made today so very special for me,

Because it is something I have been waiting to see.

Our fingers intertwined as we danced, stepped and swayed to the melodies on the background,

Whilst hearing you laugh it is such a beautiful sound.

Feeling you next to me in such a geniuine way made the hours fly away,

With not enough time or words to say...
