I have the BIGGEST side eye for anyone who says shit like 'celebrities aren't obligated to make political statements' or 'why do you even care what they think?'. Why the fuck would I want to support someone who sees what's happening in Palestine and has the power to inform their audience/fan base and simply doesn't? Why don't they care enough to say anything at all? How do they, as millionaires and billionaires with very real influence whether we want them to have it or not, not want to help? When they see these people suffering and begging to just survive, how do they continue about their lives and not WANT to speak out even once??
Like how do they see children being bombed and go 'oh, that's so sad...anyway, nothing I can do about it', when they absolutely can do something about it. Small content creators with only a few hundred people listening are doing more to help Palestine than Taylor Swift, BeyoncΓ© or literally any other big-time celebrity with the power to both make massive change and preserve their careers through it all. So why, why the actual FUCK, would I want to support these celebrities in ANYWAY when I know that they are capable of ignoring what's happening in Gaza or any atrocity like this. Why would I give my time and possibly money to some cunt who can't get on Twitter for two minutes and post something as simple as 'I stand with Palestine' because sometimes that's all they need to fucking do!
Y'all can ask 'why do you even care what they think?' all you want, but I do care if someone I was openly supporting doesn't have the basic decency to want to help the people of Palestine when they are screaming to be heard. Where they stand on issues like this will ALWAYS be more important to me than their next album or TV show. Silence is compliance.
thank you to the dishonest failing new york times for constantly erasing us and purposefully obscuring jewish participation in these protests just to make people less sympathetic to the movement opposing an ongoing genocide
btw you can see all the edits nyt makes to their article titles on this twitter account
I don't expect Jerry Seinfeld to care about hurting other people's feelings, after all, I expect nothing more from someone who supports genocide:
Queers like you confuse me you would be lynched on entrance to Palestine
youβll never guess where i am rn
Swifties can't think bc I'm seeing them out here calling Taylor the music industry
Babe the only reason that album is even in the top 100 is bc of the cult streaming it 24h long and blocking other artists to succeed
I promise you no one gives a shit about ttpd
The protests at Emory university in Atlanta have been met with the most violent police brutality by far. Students have been tased, tear gassed shot with rubber bullets and THEY WILL NOT STOP because they are courageous Beings with a heart to match and the common people will not accept anything less than a Free Palestine ππ
I am Jewish. I am an anti-Zionist. I am always and forever pro-Palestine.
My grandmother was born in Palestine before Israel existed. My grandmother, who died less than a decade ago (in her 70s) was already older than the settler colonial state of Israel. Judaism exists without Zionism. Zionism goes against the Jewish religion. Zionism is white supremacy.
From the river to the sea Palestine WILL BE FREE
very sexy of joe alwyn to have the eyes of millions of prying swifties on him for months and to only ever be like "btw you should care about gaza"

As Mona's campaign has completed I'm preparing for you this list so we can show these families the same amazing and unbelievable support we showed Mona and her family. The invasion of Rafah grows nearer everyday. Please understand the urgency of this campaign.

Rabbis from the US and Israel marched towards the Erez crossing carrying symbolic aid for Gaza and calling to end the war. The police blocked them a few hundred meters from the border, and arrested 7 protesters. source
It WILL COME BACK IS BACK! And its still absolutely feral.
Lmao how is this real, "the ambient sounds of the world were wrong, sir"
every two months taylor swift is like iβm going to make another album of me saying ooh aah baby your love was like a knife but iβm a flower and thanks to you i can now take in more water. and everyone goes crazy over it

No crumbs left.
just to reiterate: intentionally targeting hospitals is a WAR CRIME and a TERRORIST ACTION
remember when they got rid of the slogan "don't be evil"?
TWO HOURS AGO: an incredible photo taken by a ut austin student capturing something deeply poetic in my opinion, a line of state troopers eagerly waiting to arrest student protesters standing just behind a sign that reads "what starts here changes the world. its starts with you and what you do each day."
she's for sure going to spurn the whole nfl and say she's so glad she doesn't have to pretend to like football anymore
I know when travis and taylor are over she will write about how he only stayed in australia for a bit because he had to fly home to party in las vegas or whatever. She probably was pissed
Yeah, I think the partying and the ever present bros will become more and more of an issue the longer they're together.
hearing someone tell the same boring or only mildly interesting story more than twice is unbearable to me. it's like there are ants under my skin. i have to leave the room or if i can't i have to pull out every mental trick i have to distract myself and then vent later and I'm pretty sure it still shows in my body language despite my best efforts.
taylor swift is like someone who tells the same few mildly interesting stories over and over and over. her music isn't garbage or anything, but at the same time 90% of it is unbearable to me because every single she releases gets so much play, it gives me the same ants under my skin feeling and i often can't get away from it.
and it's not just her music, it's also the constant narrative around her. i was made to sit through a mini documentary about her relationship with travis kelce on espn, treating her like a saint doing a public service for bringing more customers to the multibillion dollar CTE league that is the biggest financial supporter of tackle football for children. (I am on record hating tackle football, the NFL, and its youth outreach long before this)
ever since the self-proclaimed activist happily accepted being named more influential on world events than any world leader and used the platform to talk about no world events or anything worthwhile, it's like the ants have become bullet ants whenever i hear this saint swift narrative repeated. we're even supposed to say "thank you mommy, may i have another" to the billionaire making millions on obscenely priced concerts that are supposedly "holding up the whole economy". i'm just never going to understand people who worship her (not just like her music) and dedicate their time to giving her unpaid promo and claim to care about things like genocide and the environment and wealth disparity.
anyway, that's why stuff bugs me. please tag everything that's related to taylor with "#taylor swift" so people's blacklists work properly. A LOT of y'all don't and it's giving ants!

Am I the only one who doesn't believe this? π€
It seems legit to me. We know from Tortured Billionaire that Travis likes having other people around. Taylor is probably too intense for him on her own.
another reminder to stop buying/watching/reading anything JK Rowling associated
i hope that the discussion about student protests does not get reduced to "privileged rich kids faffing around at an ivy league school." setting aside that tenuous claim, over the last week, protests have erupted over the entire country. a few days ago, riot police beat, pepper-sprayed, and arrested NYU faculty shielding students; protests started at the university of southern california when the admin cancelled the valedictorian's speech; encampments appeared at the university of southern carolina, UT dallas, the university of maryland, the university of new mexico, IUPUI, virginia tech, the university of virginia, the university of illinois, the university of north carolina β chapel hill, the university of pittsburgh, uc berkeley, the university of michigan β ann arbor, MIT, emerson, tufts, the university of rochester, rice, swarthmore, the new school, vanderbilt university, with students arrested; students protested or walked out at miami university, northwestern, temple, the 5 claremont colleges: pomona, pitzer, scripps, harvey mudd, and claremont mckenna, stanford, washington university in st louis, students were arrested at ohio state, students were confronted by riot police at cal poly humboldt, after which they occupied campus, students were arrested at the university of minnesota β twin cities, after which faculty walked out; and yes, there are protests at the other ivies, most notably yale, with students facing mass arests after encampments, but there is also an encampment at brown, protests appeared at cornell, princeton faculty issued a statement of solidarity while students are preparing an encampment, and harvard banned the undergraduate palestine solidarity committee. there are thousands of students who are protesting for palestine across the entire country, facing harassment, arrest, and suspension in return
It's not the "without the racists" line on its own I dislike, but that whole tangent is supposedly preaching this wise deep lesson about how the past wasn't as great as you romanticize it to be. but who is she talking to??? idk anyone who's like 'damn, I wish I was in the 1830s'. it's nonsensical without confronting what it is about that time that appeals to her, since the major features of that time supposedly don't. is it the lack of the technology that made her famous? the dresscode? swifties literally say 'there's nothing appealing about it, that's the point' but then WHY WOULD SHE SAY IT IN THE FIRST PLACE
it's a desperate attempt to save face. I'll always remember the tweet when someone said "without all the racists", girl who would you date/write about then?.
