You know what? I do see the difference! The guy on the left is awarding Ellen with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. That’s an award given to American citizens. The guy on the right is giving a veteran the Presidential Medal of Honor, an award given to soldiers who serve their country. Obama gave out Medals of Honor to dozens of soldiers. So it is really weird that they chose to use a photo of him with Ellen instead of one any of those. It’s almost as if they were intentionally making an unfair comparison in order to confirm the biases of the uneducated rubes who trust Facebook memes more than actual news. Fun Fact: That veteran served in Vietnam, a war that the current commander in chief deferred from serving in FIVE TIMES because he had painful “bone spurs.” The president heroically overcame that obstacle the second the draft was over, and now he can even play golf 2-3 times a week instead of doing the job he was elected to do. For some reason a bird speaking Japanese is mildly off putting.

Even if you’re flipping burgers, waiting tables or answering phones today, you never know where you’ll end up tomorrow. Never tell yourself you’re too old to make it. 

Never tell yourself you missed your chance. 

Never tell yourself that you aren’t good enough. 

You can do it. Whatever it is.

Fish Using Jellyfish as Shelter

Jellyfish serve as a habitat to many ocean creatures… Jellyfish play a critical role in the lives of different marine creatures. While they are used as a direct food source for many, some use them as shelter (juvenile fish), some as a means of travelling from A to B and some have a combined interest of travelling while snacking on the microscopic parasites attached to the Jellyfish. These symbiotic relationships are very intricate and are being investigated by scientists.

Boston Schools Use Modernized Maps That Enlarge Africa, Depict World Accurately

In the original map, Greenland appears bigger than Africa. In reality, it is 14 times smaller.

Public schools in Boston are using a new global map to help show students what the world really looks like.

Boston Public Schools, a network that includes 125 institutions, announced Thursday that instead of just using the widely popular, over 400-year-old Mercator projection map, which grossly distorts the size of the world’s countries and continents, classrooms will be incorporating the Peters projection map because it is more accurate.

“Overall, we hope students gain a deeper understanding of the importance of researching and analyzing multiple perspectives in order to develop their own conclusions about the world around them,” BPS’ History and Social Studies Director Natacha Scott said. “By exploring geography, we also hope to increase an awareness of the relationship between themselves to other countries, communities, cultures, and individuals around the world.”

First of all I’d like to admit  that no map is 100% accurate (though some are more accurate than others). But the ISSUE here is that the Mercator map doesn’t even get the size of Africa and South America right to the naked eye. Whichever map they use, people need to keep in mind just how many countries can fit into the African continent. 

Africa is enormous, and people still somehow call it a country. I personally hate that!

The Peters projection represents a more area accurate map, which makes other continents more proportional to one another.

And what I like the most is that white people triggered by accurate map projections!!!!
