i find it kind of funny that while blithe is having an existential crisis in front of speirs, martin is just. sleeping soundly beside him. occasionally giving blithe a side eye. also sending him off to inspect the sound of someone screaming while he's getting comfy in their foxhole. he can't be bothered he's too sleepy

he's happy to be included, not sure about how he feels abt third wheeling tho

tbf so many idiots would fit this I dont even know what pictures to use

thinking about gene’s little “gotcha” when he finally found babe after searching for him. thinking about how his face immediately dropped when he saw that babe was not doing okay. thinking about how gene took out the chocolate to force feed him. thinking about how he was running around to try to find babe to give him that chocolate. thinking about how he just wanted to comfort babe. thinking about how babe didn’t talk to spina but he did talk to gene when gene came. thinking about them falling asleep next to each other. just thinking, you know, about baberoe as one does.

I can see Gene chilling on the couch when someone knocks on the door, some kid pointing down the street saying his friend fell off his bike or smth, he cleans the kid's scratches and put a bandaind on his knee, gives them a small smile and goes back home.

The kids like to thank them with small favors, helping them with the groceries, raking the leaves off their front yard or shoveling snow. (Gente is cool, mysterious and Babe is so nice and kind, giving them candies or sweet beverages every now and then). They are the loveliest couple (⁠っ⁠˘⁠з⁠(⁠˘⁠⌣⁠˘⁠ ⁠)

Something that brings healing to my soul is imaging older baberoe. Like they go on walks down the street and all their neighbors know them because babe’s always out about talking to folks so of course they know Eugene by association even if he’s a bit more quiet and mysterious but he always has some bandaids in his pocket so the neighborhood kids know that if someone falls on their bike or scrapes a knee they can go to him and he’ll patch them up and he doesn’t know it but they all think he’s so cool because they know nothing about him and make up stories about what he’s really like and so of course all their parents like them because babe’s friendly and talkative and gene’s always taking care of everyone and anyway yeah idk I just like imagining them being happy old men together that everyone loves
