what relationships should NOT be:
filled with anxiety, self-doubts, extreme jealousy
a one-way thing
never stepping out of your comfort zone
blantantly forces you to do something you don’t want to do
hostile atmosphere is ever-present
lack of autonomy
uncomfortable, stagnant, undermining, empty
forgetting that you have a life outside of your relationship
make you feel limited, inferior, confined, always exhausted, insufficient
compromise your mental health and growth
what relationships should be:
promotes your welfare
filled with trust, honesty, and a stable communication
freedom to choose and speak
mental health is considered a priority
two-way thing
a safe, supportive space for both of you
empowers and fulfils you
might be filled with both the good stuff and sometimes bad stuff
^ but only because it helps you grow
a constant journey of self-discovery
lesbian is not a dirty word
lesbian is not a nsfw word
lesbians are not inherently sexual
lesbians are not pornographic
any sexual thoughts are feelings you have are good and okay and pure and lovely and not at all for male consumption
if you’re ace and sex repulsed you’re also good and okay and pure and lovely okay?
i love you all, you’re all lovely, you’re not dirty or bad i love you
straight women, if you really want to pride yourselves on being Great Allies, i implore you to consider the following:
stop using the term ‘girlfriend’ to refer to your lady friends. it’s confusing for us and makes it that much harder for our relationships to be taken seriously
stop joking that you and your best friend are Totally Lesbians. our relationships are not yours to make some cutesy little joke with your friends
yes, this totally includes using the 👭 emoji on pictures of you and your straight friends on instagram. why do you do that
stop using the term ‘girl/woman crush’
stop making out with your straight friends to get guys off
stop fetishizing our relationships
stop assuming that the one lesbian or bi girl you know at school is going to hit on you. chances are, they want absolutely nothing to do with you
and stop assuming it’d be the end of the world if she did
whenever “strong female characters” insult men by calling them girls my eyes roll so far back in my head i can see my brain cells die
I’m so happy this post exists
We have come across the most adorable bottle of ketchup…
It is so small… so defenseless…
We shall adopt it and raise it to become big and strong.
Happy trails to the cast and crew of Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 which closes on Broadway after 32 previews and 336 regular performances on September 3rd, 2017.
what she says: i’m fine
what she means: Deaf West’s Spring Awakening was the first show on Broadway to incorporate American Sign Language into not only the songs and dialogue, but the choreography. The choreography (and essentially the whole show) were blocked and shaped around the ASL, and it wasn’t even nominated in the Best Choreography category for the Tony’s
