And watch "The Sea Beast" on Netflix! Totally worth your time! Beautiful animation, great story, memorable characters…

We really need more pirates movies in animation. Films like these tend to be underrated. I'm thinking of "Treasure Planet" and "Sinbad Legend of the seven seas" to name a few… There's a lot of possibilities in these kind of stories when combined with animation.

There not afraid to go dark here. Oh yeah, it can get scary and real sometimes, but it does so in all the right ways. Those high stakes make it only more thrilling.

I also love the message of living the best life you can, and what makes a person right or wrong. It makes you think…

In short, it's a wonderful film to watch this summer for any fan of animation.

Worth The Wait

I’ve always wanted to write a little something like this, and Triad Verse Week was the perfect nudge to get me to to do it. So, here, have some Marina/Proteus/Sinbad happy ending stuff.

Inwardly sighing, Proteus pasted a polite smile across his face at the couple that had just asked him to dine with them later in the week. “I wouldn’t want to intrude on your romantic evening.” He told them politely, and watched the lady’s face fall as she caught the implied rejection in that. The man, however, wasn’t so quick on the uptake. Or perhaps he was just more persistent.

“You wouldn’t be intruding at all, my Lord.” He said, managing a good balance of earnest and flirtatious.

Proteus’s smile became a little less fixed, and a little more apologetically amused. “I’m afraid I most certainly would be.” He insisted gently. “I hope you find someone who makes you both very happy, but that someone is not me.”

The couple shared a look, but then they bowed and curtseyed to him, and left him alone. Proteus took the momentary break in having to mingle with the guests at his father’s party, and retreated to the balcony, where he could be alone with his thoughts. The fresh air cleared away the frustrations of the evening, and he found himself grinning fondly as he looked out over the bay, bracing his hands on the parapet. This time, unlike before, his attention wasn’t caught and held by the tower that held the Book of Peace, and it made him laugh to find his priorities so changed.

it’s time for my twice-a-year nostalgia trip for this movie and proteus as a character specifically lol, i used some old vacation pics from when i actually went to siracusa and had a fucking shit time due to outside circumstances but we’re electing to ignore that  as reference. it’s weird how these “box office flop” movies are so so special to a lot of people i know and have been a huge influence despite being seen as commercial failures. much 2 think about

ok so I'm trying to edit proteus with his hair down I had to take off the hair bump his pony tail caused and get rid of the pony tail in general in order for the back to look ok and wow this is how he looks without long hair (maybe a few more tiny hairs flying in the wind and it would look better but Allas thats for another day) just really wanted y'all to see this.
