matt loves napping, but he loves his girlfriend even more

    matt loved to nap. in fact, he probably would say it was his favorite activity in the world, second only to spending time with his girlfriend, y/n. it was a typical day for him. he had gone out with his brothers earlier, they got lunch, and now he was in his room, scrolling on his phone, ready to drift off. the sunlight was peaking through his blinds in a serene way, and his eyes softened as he moved to get comfortable. 

    he hadn’t been expecting y/n today. she had mentioned being busy, so he assumed she wasn’t going to be around. when he hears a soft knock on his bedroom door, he mutters, “come in,” before shutting his phone off and placing it on his chest. his face lights up when he sees her in his doorway, clad in one of his hoodies and a pair of jeans. “i thought you were busy today,” he says, rubbing his eyes. she nods. 

    “i was, but my friends canceled, so i figured i’d surprise you. did i interrupt nap time?” she responds, a soft laugh in her voice. he nods, his lips breaking into a smile. “come lay with me, baby,” he murmurs, putting his arms out towards her like a child. 

    she sighs, her cheeks flushed ever so slightly. she slowly slips off her jeans and makes her way over to his bed, allowing him to wrap his arms around her and pull her down next to him. she shifts slightly, tucking her legs under the comforter and pulling it up to her shoulders. she feels matt’s arms slowly snake around her waist, dipping underneath her hoodie, rubbing against her bare skin. “your hands are so warm, matt,” she sighs, pulling herself closer to him. 

    she tucks her head into his chest, her arms gently holding him. she allows her fingers to play with the hair on the back of his head as he sighs contentedly. “comfy?” he mutters, somehow managing to move her further into him. she smiles against his chest. “i love you,” she whispers, but she already feels matt’s breaths growing deeper, more even. he’s asleep. 

    she softly rubs her hand against his back, and allows sleep to overwhelm her as her eyes shut and her body grows relaxed. y/n loved napping with her boyfriend, but he loved it even more.
