The last days of the petition against conversion therapy are FASCINATING to watch. I have been following it pretty closely for almost a year now, and the progress was, above all, steady. There was this jump when some algorithm in Finland picked it up, but even that was local.
And now, everyone is panicking.
Which really shows.
These past three or four days, multiple countries have reached the threshold. Even more notably, the number of signatures in total, the ones that we need to get one million of, are growing rapidly. There are only 400'000 signatures missing. Two days ago, it was closer to 600'000.
You can see the progress here:
Consider joining the fun by making everyone around you sign it!
Made this drawing of me and my boyfriend as medieval lovers for an assignment. I haven’t drawn in a while and I’m kinda proud of how it turned out so I thought I’d share it here.
I just scheduled an appointment with the dentist to get my wisdom teeth removed, y’all wish me luck
The Rose of Versailles movie was so bad I don’t know how I endured those two hours. The animation was fairly good but the plot and its pacing were horrendous.
Sure, I must admit it’s hard to summarize such a long story. However, the whole movie watered down every theme that made this manga so good, and overall it was boring as hell.
I knew it was doomed starting with the erasure of the beef Marie Antoinette had with Du Barry. But the movie failed in many other ways:
Oscar’s internal conflict about her gender identity is completely erased, and her attraction toward Fersen is so unnoticeable that if I hadn’t read the manga I probably wouldn’t have picked up on it. Andre’s problematic behavior is also removed to such an extent that I almost felt empathy toward him, which is not a good thing.
Most importantly, I hate how they reduced the sapphic side of the story. Oscar’s love for Marie Antoinette was so underdeveloped that I barely cared when they parted ways. Honestly, I understand why Rosalie was left out of this mess but she’s essential to Oscar’s development. I mean, she’s the one who triggers her empathy for the people and sets her on the path toward getting involved in the French Revolution, which here felt like it happened out of nowhere.
Ultimately, the treatment of the Revolution itself is so superficial it’s unbearable. What do you mean they didn’t even mention the Affair of the Diamond Necklace, the literal scandal that sparked the insurrection?
The saddest thing is that all the elements to make a good and entertaining movie were there, but instead, all those plot points were thrown into an overload of unnecessary musical montages…
ugly cring while reading David Copperfield was not on my 2025 bingo card
I’m already addicted to my Kindle but if I had this in my possession as a child I would have been insufferable.
As far as I can remember, I’ve always loved reading, but sometimes I felt like I was confined in my readings and couldn’t really “upgrade” them.
I mostly read old family books, and when I roamed freely in a library, I wasn’t inclined to choose titles that really stuck with me, mostly because they hadn’t been recommended to me.
My family isn’t familiar with literature, so reading is already impressive to them, and school didn’t really help in that regard either. So I lacked access to certain books that I’m sure would’ve been so important, not just for my education, but also in shaping my critical thinking.
I’m not saying that this kind of game would’ve solved those issues, since they’re also tied to broader societal concerns, but I still find the concept of a pre-filled and supposedly “accessible” library pretty interesting.
I just know the botanic garden in my town hates to see me coming because my main focus is plants tied to hunger games lore

More excerpts from the extremely beautiful “Subjective Atlas of Palestine“ project. View the full publication via link.
About: The Dutch designer Annelys de Vet invited Palestinian artists, photographers and designers to map their country as they see it. Given their closeness to the subject, this has resulted in unconventional, very human impressions of the landscape and the architecture, the cuisine, the music and the poetry of thought and expression. The drawings, photographs, maps and narratives made for this atlas reveal individual life experiences, from preparing chickpeas to a manual on water pipe smoking, from historic dress to modern music. Pages containing humorous and caustic newspaper cartoons and invented Palestinian currency followed by colourful cultural diaries and moving letters from prisoners. All in all, the contributions give an entirely different angle on a nation in occupied territory. In this subjective atlas it is the Palestinians themselves who show the disarming reverse side of the black-and-white image generally resorted to by the media.

I grant you refuge from hurt and suffering.
With words of sacred scripture I shield the oranges from the sting of phosphorous and the shades of cloud from the smog.
I grant you refuge in knowing that the dust will clear, and they who fell in love and died together will one day laugh.

Maids, cleaners, janitors, and sanitation workers are all the most important people of civilization by far. Even 12 hours without them is VERY noticable and they simply need to be highly compensated for it
