MSPA Snapchat - Greetings from Earth!

I should have posted about this yesterday, but worry not! For I am here now with the content™.

Yesterday, as most of you are probably already aware, we had a fresh MSPA news update from Hussie!

It appears that Hussie is planning to release additional post-canon content or information via Snapchat, as the newspost contains a link to a “snap code” image, which can be scanned to allow the new “mspaofficial” snapchat channel.

Just an hour ago, the channel posted the first of its content to a snapchat story, and it’s new content from the kids post-Homestuck!

This was followed shortly after by another image!

Looks like construction on Can Town is under way!

As this appears to be canon content drawn by Hussie… dare I say, #upd8?

I’ll add additional content/images as and when it comes!

I was backing up my files and I found a shot I made for Collide that ended up not getting used, so I’m posting it here because that Rufioh was kinda fun to draw!

Well over the last seven years we’ve crashed Newgrounds, we’ve crashed the MSPA website, and this time we apparently crashed We Love Fine

I still find it funny that Dirk, who was shown as fairly strong throughout the comic, was easily killed two times in [S] Collide (exclude decapitation) while Dave and Terezi never even died. 

I highly believe he died so many times in that fight and everytime Dave and Terezi had to go in and use their fraymotif to save his ass.

The goal is simple - we thank Hussie for everything he’s done for us. For all the updates, all the people he’s met, everything he’s had to deal with - for making Homestuck. He made something far bigger than he could have imagined. I think it’s time we thanked him.

Everyone who reblogs this will have their URL added to a text file. At the end of April it will be emailed to him along explaining that these are all the people who want to personally thank him for what he does.

according to echidna, karkat is to be the new leader of the trolls, so as to prevent another “race of lost trolls”

wv’s and pm’s goal as exiles was to reintroduce civilization to earth. mission accomplished.

more specifically, when the white queen dubbed pm queen, she told her to bring jack noir to justice and rebuild their kingdom in a new land. check and check.

THATS WHAT ARADIA WAS DOING

So Homestuck’s over

We don’t know what kind of conversations some of the reunited characters had. We don’t know what happened to Davepetasprite. We don’t know if Terezi and Vriska got their happy ending.

And surprising, I think I’m okay with that?

There was no ending for some of these characters that would have satisfied everyone. Someone would feel that their fave was mischaracterized, or that their ending was unfair, or that it wasn’t the right development.

And I guess for that reason, Hussie didn’t give us a concrete ending. He gave us some beautiful scenes, he gave us a snapshot of the environment the kids ended up in, and he left us space to fill in the rest with our headcanons and opinions.

This is an ending that leaves Homestuck wide open for post-game fic, for headcanons and fan-adventures and aus all filling in the gaps Hussie left. This is an ending that will allow fans to continue creating Homestuck for years to come.

Homestuck began as a fan adventure where you can choose your own path, and ultimately, that’s how it ended too. 

A QUICK EXPLANATION

Because I see some people are confused about what all just happened.

Lord English is nearly unkillable. This is because of the power given to him by Caliborn’s dead session. The special thing about a dead session, if you remember, is that you automatically get the hardest denizen (Yogurtboner) and you are given The Choice: carry out the session, live, beat Yodlebooger, and become an unstoppable killing machine, or don’t, die, and end all suffering in all of paradox space.

Caliborn, obviously, chose the former. We see him breaking the clock, which tells when he dies, rendering him unkillable and giving him an incredible amount of power. Here’s the thing about his power, though: it’s really, REALLY massive. So massive, it has to be supplied by a giant sun that’s 2 multiverses large. Enter the Green Sun.

Alt!Calliope, of course, comes from a timeline where she carried out the session. In this session, she chose the alternative choice. By sacrificing herself, she destroyed the Green Sun, thereby draining LE’s power and rendering him killable. In short, LE can be fucked up by any old weapon now.

Any weapon, especially the one weapon meant to be able to destroy him even when he was hyped up on Green Sun power. We can safely assume that the HS juju has successfully destroyed LE once and for all.

And by destroying LE, Alt!Calliope has eliminated the major cause of suffering in paradox space. Assuming that the further stipulations of The Choice do extend beyond LE, I’d like to think that ALL suffering is gone. Like, all of the dream bubbles are destroyed and all the ghosts can live on Earth with everyone else. And Vriska is still alive. And (Vriska) is still happy.

In summary, suffering is gone. That’s the end. No more suffering. You can all live peacefully knowing that your faves are no longer suffering.

Caliborn already had flickering eyes when he acquired the chest in claymation. So his scene isn’t really a plothole.....right?

I’m more confused on the “new (or old cuz its the future alpha one) earth” scene.

You’re Going To Have To Decapitate Me

ANYWAY. this took about four hours on and off and i’ve still only reached the tip of the iceberg for this and although i’m fucking exuasted i am also amazed, nostalgic, and slightly tearful. it’s amazing to think of how much this fandom has done. homestuck is one of the longest works of fiction in the english language, and the fan content is so staggering it has possibly become bigger than the comic itself.

It’s just been amazing to be in this fandom, and to never get really bored, or go without reading new content, old content, fan produced or otherwise. there’s always been fan competitions, rps, forums, meetups, fanadventures to look or participate in or even make from scratch. this fandom has done so much in the 7 years it’s been around. and whether you’ve been around for all of it or only a week, there’s always been something to enjoy. i’ve made so many friends out of this comic. i’ve speculated, written, drawn, cosplayed, rped, cried, Discourse’d, and even at some point probably rapped, for this fandom. and it’s sense of inclusion and community is honestly something i’ll miss the most. even if you weren’t a bnf or actively producing content, there was so much content to discuss you’d make friends and feel part of something either way. chaotic, self deprecating, emotional or not, this fandom has created something. and it’s a really fucking good thing.
