Sykion is a city which is an important place in the greek mythology established by the ionians.
It has a long and rich story but I can't see anything relevant to the theory...
Lysippos was a Greek sculptor in the 4th century BC. He was from Sykion.
"It is believed that he created the way of representing the third dimension, the expression of muscles and complex movement"
If we think about it, it makes sense. As a sculptor, he can create. But he was a human, how could he create Caerus? I dug a bit deeper into this topic and this is what I found:
"The most famous statue of Caerus, however, was found in Sikyon, Greece, and it was created by Lysippos. This statue was said to be one of the most beautiful in Ancient Greece."
This is the statue of Caerus. And the last quote on in the last post was carved into the back of rhis. Deside this information, I can't find a damn thing on the internet :((
Genshin and the greek gods part 2
Heyy it has been 2 minutes since I posted the first part, but I'm really into this theory of mine so let's continue where we left it :D
PAIMON AS KAIROS
*also called Caerus*
Yep u saw it right. This might seem random but let me explain >:(
(Kairos is also a greek word, not just a god)
"Kairos (Ancient Greek: καιρός) is an ancient Greek word meaning 'the right, critical, or opportune moment."
In existential psychology, Kairos also means "critical moment of decision"
(Kairos in greek nowadays means weather but I don't know if this is relevant for the theory)
If you think about it, at the start of the game, Paimon says that we accidentaly catched her while we were fishing? I'd be clowned if it was really an accident. It was the right moment. Perfect if I could say. Because just as we arrive to Mondstadt we already solving a catastrophe with a dragon. And as we go to the upcoming nations, we are solving all of their problems.
Kairos aka the right moment doesn't have to be always positive. And we faced some pretty critical moments in genshin. I mean, we were almost killed by Dvalin, the Osial, Childe, the Raiden Shogun ect...
The point is, that Paimon was always with us while all this happened.
"Caerus is represented as a young and beautiful god. Opportunity obviously never gets old, and beauty is always opportune, flourishing in its own season."
This statement is refering to Paimon. Can't tell me otherwise. Paimon is clearly looks young. Ofc that doesn't mean she is young...
But the one thing that really snaped me was this epigram by Poseidippos that is carved on a statue:
"Who and whence was the sculptor?
From Sikyon.
And his name?
Lysippos.
[...]
Why did the artist fashion you?
For your sake, stranger, and he set me up in the porch as a lesson."
FOR MY SAKE? STRANGER? Yes. Paimon is guiding us everywhere in Teyvat. Why? Because she was designed to do it. There is a theory out there that speculates the fact that Paimon was sent from Celestia. THIS PROVES IT. For the upcoming parts or fillers, I will search after who is Lysippos and what is Sikyon cuz this stuff is getting more and more interesting :o
Next part is going to be about this mysterious Lysippos and Sikyon if I can find any information about them. If I can't then I'm going to talk about the first generation of gods. Stay tuned :DD
Thank you for reading<3
Genshin and the greek gods
I don't really know if this theory exists yet cuz I haven't really seen anywhere so I won't say that it's mine, but HEAR ME OUT-
This is probably going to be part 1 of the theory cuz it has a lot of information which I couldn't summarize in one blog.
Also my first language isn't english, so feel free to correct me if I'm not saying smth correctry.
So the whole theory is about connecting the genshin characters (and maybe even the lore) to the greek mythology.
LUMINE AS HEMERA
AETHER AS AETHER
According to Wikipedia, Aether and Hemera are brother and sister. They are the child of Nyx (night) and Erebus (darkness).
"Aether is the personification of the bright upper sky."
"Hemera is the personification of day."
Each of them represents something related to brightness and daylight. Kinda makes sense, right? If we pay attention to the lore, we can clearly connect Aether and Lumine to these. I mean even Lumines name means "light".
As conclusion, we can clearly tell, that the traveler siblings were inspired by Aether and Hemera.
This wasn't the end. In the next part, I'm going to write about Paimon and who I think she represents.
Thank u for reading<3
So I just saw the trailer for 3.0 and I'm so exited for the lore that Sumeru is hiding. Can't wait to play for weeks and making theories till I pass out ;v;
