I do not in fact have manners....at all.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The gang had always been curious about your peculiar fashion choices, but they chalked it up to one of your many quirks. Summer days would roll around, the blazing sun practically melting everyone else into puddles, and there you were—wrapped in layers like you were preparing for an Arctic expedition. A hoodie, a jacket over that, and sometimes even a scarf. You never looked uncomfortable, never broke a sweat, and barely seemed to notice the heat.
"You’re not… hot?" Ashlynn asked once, sweat dripping down her face as she stared at you incredulously during one particularly scorching afternoon. "Not at all," you replied simply, sipping on an iced drink as if that was enough to balance your sweltering outfit. The others exchanged glances, baffled but too distracted by their own discomfort to press further.
Then winter came, and you flipped the script in the most bizarre way imaginable.
---
It was the first snowfall of the year. The gang had bundled up, wearing thick coats, scarves, and gloves as they met up near the school bus graveyard. They were shivering despite the layers, steam puffing from their mouths with every breath.
And then you showed up.
“WHAT are you wearing?!” Taylor practically screeched, staring at you like you’d lost your mind. You stood there in shorts, a sleeveless shirt, ankle socks, and sandals, looking as if it were just another mild summer day. Except for the faint sheen of sweat glistening on your forehead.
"Is… is she sweating?" Ben asked, pointing in disbelief. "She’s sweating!" Tyler confirmed, his tone filled with shock. "It’s below freezing, and she’s SWEATING!"
You wiped at your forehead casually, unfazed by the snow collecting on your shoulders. “Yeah, it’s a little warm today.”
"A little warm?" Ashlynn asked, her jaw nearly hitting the floor. "We’re in the middle of a snowstorm!"
Tyler folded his arms, squinting at you. "You were wearing a hoodie and two jackets in July, and now you’re practically naked in December. Explain yourself."
"I dunno," you said with a shrug, shivering slightly but brushing it off. "I just feel more comfortable this way. Summer’s too cold, and winter’s too hot." The group was silent for a moment, their brains struggling to process your logic—or lack thereof.
---
From that day on, you became an ongoing mystery to them. Logan tried to lecture you about proper attire for the weather, but you always brushed him off with a breezy, "I’m fine." Aiden attempted to sneak extra layers into your bag, but you never used them.
Taylor even offered to buy you some stylish winter gear, but you just smiled and said, "Nah, I don’t need it."
The gang eventually gave up on trying to change your ways, though they never stopped complaining or worrying every time you showed up to the bus graveyard in a snowstorm wearing the absolute minimum.
Whenever any of them asked about your clothing vs. temperature issue, you just gave a sly grin, tugging at your sleeveless shirt as the snow continued to fall.
For a Moment
Chapter 1: A Night to Remember
For A Moment
Dawn's POV
The hum of voices and clinking glasses filled the restaurant, a small, cozy place I’d practically grown up in thanks to Tommy. Tonight, though, felt different. There was a buzz in the air, an energy I couldn’t quite explain.
I leaned against the bar, arms crossed, watching my brother like a hawk as he chatted with a couple of his bandmates. “So, what’s the deal with this guy?” I asked, nudging Tommy’s arm.
“Relax, Dawn. Frankie’s got pipes, trust me,” Tommy replied with a smirk, not even glancing my way.
“That’s what you said about the last guy, and he couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket,” I shot back, raising an eyebrow.
Tommy finally turned to look at me, his smirk shifting into something closer to annoyance. “You’ll see. Just… stick around, alright?”
I huffed, but curiosity got the better of me, so I stayed put, nursing a soda and watching as Tommy waved Frankie over.
When Frankie stepped up to the stage, the crowd quieted. He was smaller than I expected, with this boyish charm that made him seem almost out of place among the seasoned musicians Tommy usually ran with. But there was something about the way he carried himself—nervous but confident, like he had a secret he was dying to share.
Tommy grabbed the mic first, his grin wide and easy. “Alright, folks, we got a treat for ya tonight. Frankie here’s gonna show ya what he’s got!”
The crowd clapped politely, and I could see Frankie shift on his feet, adjusting the mic stand. Then he started singing.
“I can't give you anything but love, baby…”
The room transformed. His voice wasn’t just good—it was *magical*. Smooth, velvety, with a touch of vulnerability that made you lean in, made you *want* to listen.
I watched as the women in the crowd melted—leaning forward, whispering to each other, their eyes sparkling. But while they fell in love with Frankie Valli, the heartthrob, I was drawn to something deeper. The way he sang felt personal, like he was sharing a piece of himself with everyone in the room.
I found myself gripping the edge of my seat, hanging on every note.
"Alright so the kid can sing,” I muttered, not tearing my eyes away from the stage.
By the time Frankie hit the last note, the room erupted in applause. He ducked his head, a shy smile on his face, and I couldn’t help but feel a twinge of admiration.
Tommy leaned closer, a sly grin playing on his lips. “What’d I tell ya, huh? Kid’s gonna be a star.”
I didn’t answer. I was too busy watching Frankie step off the stage with his shy smile, already wondering how someone so small could fill a room like that.
————————————————————————
Now, of course, the usual problem came up with the crashed car in the jewlery shop with a giant safe came along and Frankie got blamed.
But he was loyal to Tommy, holding his own until that court date that landed Tommy 6 months in jail.
Now, Tommy being in jail wasn’t exactly new territory, but this time it felt different. Six months was a long time, even for him. And while I could’ve used the break from his constant scheming, I couldn’t shake the feeling that he was counting on me to keep an eye on Frankie.
Frankie was good—too good to waste his time sneaking around town, crooning to impress every girl who batted her lashes at him. He had potential, but if he didn’t take himself seriously, he was going to get nowhere fast.
I spotted him one afternoon, leaning against the side of a diner, serenading a small group of girls with that same song he’d sung at the restaurant. “I Can’t Give You Anything but Love.” It was sweet, sure, but I could see right through him—the way he tilted his head just so, smiling at their giggles. He was eating it up.
“Seriously, Frankie?” I called, crossing my arms as I walked up to him.
The girls looked at me like I’d interrupted the second coming, but Frankie just grinned, finishing the last note before lowering his voice. “Hey, Dawn. What’s the matter? Jealous?”
“Jealous of what? A guy who’s got a fan club but no direction? Please.” I rolled my eyes, but my lips twitched, betraying the smallest smile.
“Direction?” He scoffed, tucking his hands into his pockets. “You sound like my old teacher.”
“Yeah, well, she was probably right,” I shot back. “If you keep wasting your time with these sidewalk performances, you’re never going to get anywhere.”
The girls murmured their disapproval, but Frankie waved them off. “Go on, girls. We’ll pick this up later.”
Once we were alone, he turned to me, his grin softening into something closer to curiosity. “You really think I’m wasting my time?”
I sighed, shaking my head. “You’ve got talent, Frankie. Real talent. But if you don’t take it seriously, no one else will.”
“Alright,” he said, tilting his head playfully. “What do you suggest, Coach?”
I ignored the sarcasm and straightened my posture. “First of all, stop singing the same song to every girl who’ll listen. Show some range. Second, work on your stage presence. You’ve got a good voice, but you fidget like you’re afraid someone’s going to throw a tomato at you.”
“Tomatoes, huh?” His lips quirked, and he leaned closer, his tone teasing. “What, you gonna start chucking them if I mess up?”
I gave him a light shove, unable to hold back a laugh. “Maybe I will, if it gets you to focus.”
From that day on, we had this strange rhythm. Whenever we crossed paths—at the diner, the grocery store, even on the street—he’d have some new line, half flirty, half sassy, and I’d throw it right back at him.
“Dawn,” he’d call out one afternoon, his hands cupped around his mouth. “Wanna hear a new one? I’ve been practicing.”
“Not if it’s another love song,” I’d reply, pretending to groan.
“It’s jazz!” he’d counter, flashing that boyish grin that somehow made it hard to stay mad.
Frankie had a way of getting under my skin, but I couldn’t deny he was improving. Little by little, his voice grew stronger, his confidence steadier. And while I still wanted to strangle him every time he flirted his way through a practice session, I couldn’t help but feel proud.
Tommy might’ve been the one who brought him into the fold, but I was the one keeping him on track. For now, at least.
After Nick landed himself in jail after Frankie's little rendezvous with a lady in a church, that left me to carry the boys heavy work until Tommy came home.
Frankie and I had already spent a bit of time together...not bonding though. It was more like teaching and slightly insulting him to step it up.
When Tommy came home though, I was off the hook and back into sidelines... Watching the miss Mary Delgado find a special spot in Frankie's heart.
Ask~~~ Hiiii i have a writing request if you don't mind! Could you write something about the banner family? Specifically the parents? I love them so much and there is a genuine lacking of content for them! Thank you! :)
Eeee yes I love this family, they definitely need more content on it all and I'm so excited to write about this!
-Writer Icy♡
General HC's for The Banner Family♡
Mike, Emma, Ashlynn
School Bus Graveyard ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Both former military people, I feel like the nickname Mike gives Ashlynn "Soldier" is just something that happened naturally which honestly is super cute and makes the family feel healthy and domestic ❤️
Emma, being the sweet anti-social woman she is, is very understanding of her daughters emotions towards not wanting to have friends, I feel like she might've had trouble with that when she was younger or even in bootcamp.
I hc that Emma and Mike met in the military, finding such a beautiful peace among so much chaos. Their love holds alot of respect and understanding because they are quite different from each other.
Emma is more quiet and collected, Mike is more of the sporty, outgoing type of guy and I feel they clicked kinda fast. Mike has a ton of energy, he drinks coffee with like...two shots of espresso and Emma has hers just black. Or she drinks tea- I can see that too..
EMMA IS A BOOK WORM- now hear me out- She enjoys reading alot into either the survival fiction books or like...the dystopia books like Hunger Games or The Giver because she can picture it more in her mind.
I also hc before Ashlynn was born, Emma either read to Mike before bed or in quiet time or read to her baby belly :,)
Ashlynn, when she was little, would ask Mike and Emma to tell stories from the military but like...the funny ones about all the crazy stupid stuff that happens in the barracks. Mike being like "Yeah and Johnny almost got caught by our Unit Commander and blah blah blah slipped and landed right into the mud on the other side of the fence" or something like that
Emma had some creativity with her quietness, I feel like she sang or danced in private, maybe was in a high-school choir or something before enlisting.
I feel like they had alot of trouble overcoming the 'Phantoms' along with after being in the military for a while. Like....that has to come with a certain amount of trauma or mental health that lessened from it. They had to rely on one another to pick each other up on especially hard days and now they work together to do said thing for Ashlynn.
They are definitely a pretty healthy family from what is given from them, they want the best for Ash and to keep her happy and safe. They're loving parents and have alot of things they carry but they manage it in healthy ways.
Ugghhh I love them, they deserve extra credit, they're so precious 💖
Call of Duty Ghost
Ghost x Fem! Lieutenant! Reader
Angst/Comfort
Warnings: Mentions of guns/gunshot, wounds, friend dying, friend getting injured, self blame
Oof this one hurts- I'm so tired but I got it done, I need to go eat my hot-pockets now
-Writer Icy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Gunfire. Screaming for a medic. Not having enough time

It happened too fast. I watch as he lay lifeless on the concrete floor, several gunshot wounds to the stomach and chest… right through the vest.

As the unit communicated through coms, the world went quiet for me. I froze, my heart pounding in my ears as my blood ran cold. Rage and anger but sadness and regret. I was frozen, stuck in one spot as I stared down at my now dead best friend. He had been there my junior and senior year of highschool and enrolled into the military with me..I was at his damn wedding- “Y/N! Pull yourself together!' I heard Soap's voice ring out sharply, his words cutting through the silence that I thought was there. 'This isn't a field trip, L/n! Get your ass into gea-” another gunshot and a yell. My head whipped around to Soap who was now bleeding from his bicep. “Fuck..” I had to move, I had frozen in the middle of fire. My heart sank as I realized the severity of my actions.

Ghost’s POV

Soap's words had stung her, but they also served as a harsh reminder of her duty. I ran out just as L/n looped her arm up under Soap’s, making their way back to the hall we took cover in. I could only serve a sharp look her way. “L/n, You're a lieutenant. Act like one.” I grumbled under my breath. She put her head down as the rest of the unit met back at the evacuation heli.

No ones POV

After returning to base, a run-down shack in the middle of nowhere; they were able to get Soap down and banaged after removing the lodged bullet in his arm. “Fuckin’ ‘ell Soap” Ghost mumbled after watching Y/n bandage Soaps arm. “L/n, what the hell were you thinking? People die everyday- You could’ve gotten Soap or yourself killed.”

Y/n nodded “Yes Ghost I know, I know the severity of my actions and what could’ve happened…It wont happen again.” she mumbled before leaving. Soap grabbed Ghost’s arm with his good one, “Go easy on ‘er mate. How’d you feel if ya’ lost her in combat?” Ghost nodded, “I know…Have to be harsh on her out front…Price would have our arse if he knew-” Soap patted his comrade’s arm and nodded “I know. Just go get ‘er.” He mumbled before relaxing back into his temporary bed.

Ghost returned to their shared room to find Y/n sitting on the edge of the bed, her back facing the door. Tears streamed down her face as grief consumed her, not only for their fallen comrade but also for the realization that her panic and freeze up could have jeopardized Soap, herself and the whole mission… So many more lives could’ve been lost if she had stood there another second-

“Y/n,” Ghost’s deep voice rang through the silence of the small room. He closed the door and made his way over to her, his heart heavy.

'I'm sorry, Simon,' Leah whispered, her voice trembling. 'I let you down.'

Ghost crossed the room and crouched in front of her. With a soft touch, he rested his ungloved hand on her knee, his gaze meeting hers. 'You didn't let me down, Y/n.”

'But I panicked,' Leah protested. “I could’ve gotten Soap or someone else on the team killed. I-If I had stood there another second, It could've-”

“We all have our moments of weakness, Y/n,” Ghost sighed, cutting her off. “But it's how we respond to them that truly matters.”

Ghost's words brought a glimmer of solace to Y/n. She leaned into his shoulder as the final walls broke as she cried openly into her partners shoulder. He held her close, whispering soothing words into her hair. “Let's honor your friend,” Ghost suggested softly. “We'll give them a separate burial, just the two of us tomorrow…I know they were your best friend.”

“He was practically my brother Simon..” she hiccuped. “So lets make them feel honored. He may be gone but not completely.” Ghost soothed her to the best of his ability. Comfort wasn’t his specialty, it was Soap’s. Being with Y/n, he had to learn a thing or two as to, in words of Soap, “Not be a fucking dick-faced-prick”.

The following day, they found a secluded spot, far from the temporary base in the forest clearing. With solemn hearts, they laid their comrade to rest, offering a whispered prayer for their eternal peace. As they filled the grave, Y/n felt a sense of closure. Though the sorrow would linger, she knew that her friend had found their way to the afterlife. It hurt her but she knew it was always going to hurt when she lost someone she loved. She knew when she joined, they both did. But as she looked at her partner beside her, she felt relief that she wasn't going through this alone. The man might be harsh, rude, and unfeeling on the outside but she knew what laid in his heart and she loved him for it all.

Together, Ghost rebuilt Y/n’s shattered spirits. They recognized the strength in their connection and the importance of supporting each other through their darkest hours. Y/n's panic had been a harrowing experience, but it had also brought them closer together, forging an unbreakable bond that transcended the battlefield. He knew she was going to be okay, not today or tomorrow, but she’ll get through this and he’d help her till the end.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ashlynn:
- First Death (Tree): When the reader dies for the first time, Ashlynn is completely shattered. Her immediate response is disbelief, unable to comprehend the reality of it. She cradles the reader’s lifeless body, tears streaming down her face as she screams for help, her mind racing with the thought of how she couldn’t save them.
- Second Death (Aiden’s Sacrifice): When the reader dies again to save Aiden, Ashlynn’s grief turns into something much darker. She’s angry that the reader sacrificed themselves once more, furious at the universe for forcing them into that situation again. Ashlynn starts blaming everyone around her, even Aiden, for "taking" the reader away from her.
- Hospital Reaction: When they finally get the reader back in the real world, and she’s taken to the hospital, Ashlynn refuses to leave her side. She’s terrified that if she takes her eyes off the reader, they’ll slip away again. The relief that the reader is still alive is overshadowed by the obsessive need to protect her from any future harm, making her more possessive than ever.
Tyler:
- First Death (Tree): Tyler is frozen in place when the reader dies the first time. It takes him a moment to process, and then he’s overwhelmed with guilt. He feels like it should have been him—he should have protected her. His grief turns into self-blame, and he becomes consumed by thoughts of what he could have done differently.
- Second Death (Aiden’s Sacrifice): When the reader dies again, this time saving Aiden, Tyler completely breaks. The guilt from the first death is nothing compared to how he feels now. He becomes erratic, angry at himself for not being the one to die instead of her. Tyler feels helpless, like the universe is conspiring to take the reader from him repeatedly.
- Hospital Reaction: At the hospital, Tyler refuses to leave the reader’s bedside. He’s constantly watching her, terrified that something else will happen. His yandere tendencies intensify, and he becomes almost paranoid, wanting to shield her from everyone—even the rest of the group. He’s determined never to let her out of his sight again.
Taylor:
- First Death (Tree): Taylor is heartbroken when the reader dies the first time. She immediately becomes a mess of emotions, sobbing uncontrollably and lashing out at the Phantom World. She’s consumed by the need to undo what’s happened and tries to cling to any hope, even if it’s impossible.
- Second Death (Aiden’s Sacrifice): When the reader dies again, Taylor’s reaction is even more chaotic. Her grief turns into a frantic desperation to "save" the reader somehow. She’s constantly talking about finding a way to keep the reader alive, as if it’s something she can fix. She becomes consumed by the need to prevent another tragedy from happening.
- Hospital Reaction: Taylor is relieved when they return to the real world and find the reader alive in the hospital, but the trauma of losing her twice makes Taylor more obsessive. She clings to the reader constantly, trying to bring them gifts and stay by their side at all times. Her emotions become unpredictable—one moment she’s cheerful, and the next she’s panicking at the thought of losing them again.
Aiden:
- First Death (Tree): Aiden is numb with shock when the reader dies for the first time. His analytical mind tries to rationalize the situation, but it can’t. He feels an overwhelming sense of helplessness, knowing he couldn’t protect her. This helplessness transforms into an intense need to prevent anything like this from happening again.
- Second Death (Aiden’s Sacrifice): When the reader dies saving him, Aiden is devastated. He’s consumed by guilt, believing that her second death is his fault. The fact that she gave her life to save him breaks something inside of Aiden, making him more obsessive and controlling. He vows to never let the reader sacrifice herself for anyone again.
- Hospital Reaction: At the hospital, Aiden becomes overly protective, standing guard by her bedside. His calm demeanor is gone, replaced with a quiet but intense resolve. He monitors every aspect of her care, questioning the doctors and nurses at every turn. His possessiveness grows, and he becomes determined that no one will ever harm her again—not even herself.
Ben:
- First Death (Tree): Ben is silent when the reader dies the first time. He doesn’t show much outward emotion, but inside, he’s boiling with rage. He’s furious that something like this could happen and is already thinking about what he can do to prevent it from happening again.
- Second Death (Aiden’s Sacrifice): The second death hits Ben harder than the first. When the reader dies saving Aiden, his rage turns inward. He blames himself for not being able to protect her and becomes hyper-focused on ensuring her safety from that point on. Ben’s yandere tendencies evolve into an obsessive need to control every aspect of the reader’s life.
- Hospital Reaction: At the hospital, Ben is a silent but constant presence. He rarely leaves the reader’s side, his protective instincts on high alert. He’s colder and more distant with the rest of the group, focusing entirely on the reader’s well-being. Ben’s possessiveness grows, and he becomes determined to shield her from any future harm, no matter what.
Logan
- First Death (Tree): Logan is a wreck when the reader dies. His usual cheerful and kind nature is shattered, and he breaks down, sobbing uncontrollably. He can’t handle the pain of losing her and is consumed by the thought that he should have been able to protect her.
- Second Death (Aiden’s Sacrifice): When the reader dies a second time, Logan’s grief turns into desperation. He feels like the world is playing a cruel trick on them, taking her away repeatedly. He can’t understand why it keeps happening and becomes consumed by an obsessive need to protect her in the future, should she come back to them.
- Hospital Reaction: When they finally return to the real world and find the reader alive in the hospital, Logan is overjoyed but also terrified. He never leaves her side, constantly checking on her to make sure she’s okay. His yandere tendencies intensify, making him cling to her emotionally, unable to cope with the thought of losing her again.
Ashlynn (First Death):
Ashlynn cradled the reader in her arms, her voice trembling as she whispered, "Please, don’t leave me. You can’t leave me. I need you." Tears mingled with the rain as she held on tighter, as if refusing to let the world take the reader away. "I’ll never let anything hurt you again, I swear."
Tyler (Second Death):
Tyler screamed in agony as he watched the reader’s lifeless body fall to the ground after saving Aiden. "Why? Why did you have to go again?!" He pounded his fists against the crumbling walls of the Phantom World, his heart shattering into a thousand pieces. He would never forgive himself.
Aiden (Hospital):
Aiden sat by the reader’s bedside, his eyes glued to the monitors beeping rhythmically. "I’m so sorry," he whispered, his voice cracking. "It should’ve been me…Im sorry, I didnt- You shouldn't…im sorry…"
*The gang is left with deep emotional scars from watching the reader die not once, but twice. Their love for her turns obsessive, each member pushing their protective instincts to new extremes in their desperate attempts to keep her safe. Even as the reader recovers in the hospital, the trauma of her deaths will haunt them, fueling their yandere tendencies.
Taylor (First Death):
Taylor knelt beside the tree, her hands shaking as she reached out to touch the reader’s cold skin. "No, no, no..." she murmured, her voice cracking as tears blurred her vision. "This can’t be real. I’ll fix it. I’ll find a way to fix it. You can’t be gone, not like this." Her fingers gripped the reader’s hand tightly, as if she could pull them back from death with sheer willpower. "I’ll bring you back. I’ll do anything."
Ben (Second Death):
Ben stood silently at the foot of the hospital bed, his eyes fixed on the reader’s unconscious form. His expression was cold, but his mind was racing with thoughts of revenge and control. "I won’t let this happen again," he muttered under his breath, his hands clenched into fists. "You’ll never have to sacrifice yourself again, because I’ll make sure no one gets close enough to hurt you." His gaze darkened, his possessiveness growing stronger with each passing second. "I’ll protect you... even if it means keeping you from everyone else."
Logan (Hospital):
Logan was paralyzed with horror as he saw the reader push Aiden out of the way, taking the fatal blow in his place. He dropped to his knees beside her body, sobbing uncontrollably. "Why did you do that?" he choked out, his hands trembling as he touched her face. "You didn’t have to... I was supposed to protect you!" His heart shattered, a raw and aching pain spreading through his chest. "Please, come back. I can’t do this without you."
