for the past few days, all josie did was toss and turn at night, putting her into a cycle of being constantly tired and annoyed. she could feel something in the air, it was dark and powerful. until she was sure of what that was, the siphoner would have many more sleepless nights. lizzie told her she needed to blow off some steam, go somewhere that made less wrinkles around her eyes. after the merge, she went to the stables a lot so it felt like the time to start back up again.
as she parked, she gripped the wheel and let out a deep sigh. there was so much on her mind, some things bothered her more than others. she couldn't stop thinking about the woman she met at the masquerade and how she had no idea who it might be. "come on josie, just try to relax...you got this." the pep talk wasn't really working, but she was going to try her hardest to not sink into darkness.
josie was working, picking an art piece from the cathedral that was being transferred to the museum for a new exhibit. she has walked these steps for as long as she can remember, but it wasn't like they weren't special, the siphoner just had much more on her mind. his touch sent her out of her daze, meeting his gaze with a raised eyebrow, because honestly she was going to tell him off for touching her, but then he spoke and she understood. nodding her head, she took a step back to the others side and looked up at the building. taking in the way it looked as the sun hit it at just the right angle.
allowing her shoulders to relax, a smile formed on josie's lips as she looked to the other. "have you been inside?" if he was this enamored by the outside, she couldn't imagine what he would think of the rest.
open starter: @inaducursehqstarters location: outside the st. louis cathedral "Oh wow, this is just ... wow," Isaac isn't usually one for so many words, but his excitement is getting the best of him. He's been standing at the foot of the Cathedral for twenty minutes, gawking up in awe. Nothing sings to him like a pretty building, and this one in particular is an opera. Isaac has reread the plaque at least four times, soaking in every detail. The architect was French (he loves the French!) and died before seeing the completed structure. Isaac will enjoy it enough for the both of them, he decides, because what better way to honor the memory. A person steps into his view, then, appearing to head for the door. Isaac reaches out instinctively to stop them, lest they disrupt his view (which in fairness, hasn't changed in the last twenty minutes, but still). "Not yet," he tells them gently, but his grip is strong, "You're already missing the best part."
"oh, okay, yeah so sorry to bother you." eleanor turned to see the empty table, realizing that the only person she saw in this giant place was charlie. once her gaze went back to the other, he was already sitting, looking just as confused as she was. flexing her hands, she placed the manuscript on the counter before giving the other a smile. "so umm, i've decided to just kinda be up front with people since my brain is moving so much faster than any other body part. anyways, it's not you making this whole thing awkward its very much me." giggling softly, she shook her head and took a seat. "my name is eleanor, have we met before?"
he looked familiar but it was impossible to put any names to faces. elle's memory was still fuzzy, each day she was alive brought something new. the name of a childhood friend or just something she once loved. the whole process made her feel as if she was insane and honestly who could blame her if she was?
Charlie sighed in frustration as he carefully dished up his plate of food, realizing that the girl in front of him seemed to have misunderstood. He could see the confusion on her face as she held the oversized plate that was clearly meant for more than just one person. "It's not for me," he explained, trying to sound patient despite his irritation. "It's probably for one of my cousins or my uncle. You can just leave it on the table over there." He gestured towards the empty table in the corner of the room, hoping she would understand and not cause any further confusion.
Charlie took a seat and silently cursed himself for not clarifying things sooner. He felt a pang of embarrassment at the awkward situation unfolding before him. Glancing at the abundant amount of food on his plate, he couldn't help but feel a little overwhelmed by the thought of having to explain himself further.
josie walked over to the scene just in time, to see the man speed away after handing mia a card. tilting her head, she made her way over to the other and giggled softly. "i guess there are worse things to be left with than a nice card and some balloons." she hadn't seen mia in so long, so she quickly gave the other a tight hug before pulling back and examining the display. "does the card have a name?"
location: rousseau's bar
Mia walked out from the back of the restaurant into the bar area when she spotted the collection of balloons being placed on the ground near the door. A delivery man was quick to hand her a card and then headed for the door before she could stop him. "Wait, these aren't for here," she called out, looking over the card, but the man was already gone. She looked up at the balloons with a smile. "What am I doing to do with you?"

there was really no rhyme or reason as to how eleanor ended up at the brewery. maybe it was noise of busy people? someone is bound to help you in a crowd right? or at least that was what the tired girl had hoped. everything was fuzzy and hard to process, so she just followed the sound, shielding her face as the bright lights beamed from the building. dusting herself off, she finally realized that she was in the clothes her family buried her in. a black v-neck sundress and matching ballet shoes. while the only thing to identify her, was the dainty gold chain the read her name in cursive, nikolas gave it to her the night she died.
she was shaken out of her daze by a voice calling her way, looking up with a confused grin, she then pointed to herself to confirm. he sounded kind and there was water at the table, oh how long it had been since she had water. so she found herself skipping over to the empty seat, nodding her head at his question before grabbing the pitcher of water and gulping it down. it felt as if she her whole body lacked oxygen and liquid, causing her muscles to feel tense and strained. after a few seconds, ellie placed the now half empty pitcher on the table. her cheeks turning red as she realized what she had just done in front of everyone.
"oh my god, you'd think being newly dead was embarrassing but this really tops it." she admitted quietly, hoping only the person next to her could hear, while the crowd that glared only saw a nervous smile.

kilian sits comfortably under one of the weathered canopies just outside the parleaux beer lab, a hazy ipa sweating on the table in front of him. his fingers are coated in black from the charcoal pinched between them, sketching under the glow of the setting sun. lost in his craft, he finds some semblance of peace despite the subject of his sudden artistic inspiration. the details of the shaded drawing capture the intricate features of his best friend, lost in the fire that took their lives. they'd spend their friday evenings at breweries like this, decompressing after a long week of classes and enjoying the company of their closest friends. it was time taken for granted, so now he basks in every moment. relishing in each sip of his drink, recalling memories of laughter and deep conversations, and growing stronger in their bond with one another. now, the table is silent and only one of them remains to carry on the tradition. almost like clockwork and eager for a distraction from his grief, he spots the other step out of the brewery. a smile pulls at his lips and urges him to wave them over, setting aside his sketchbook and wiping his hands as clean as the napkins allowed. " hey ! are you meeting someone here ? 'cause i could use some company if you're not. " kilian says with confidence, before motioning to a seat at his table and leaning a tad closer to them, his tone taking a more playful turn, " besides, i'm getting pitiful stares from the other patrons here for drinking alone. if anything, i'm making it look cool . . . right ? "
being a siphoner meant that you sensed everything about another person. there was immense power radiating from the other and from her facial expressions, it was clear something was wrong. yet, josie also understood the reaction, she often pushed others away when needing them the most. a bad habit that got worse after the merge. so instead of insisting that there was a problem, she took a step back and tried another approach.
"there have been murders, all over the city. i think it'd be best if we headed somewhere safer." her voiced sounded a lot more calmer than she actually was.
she was just seeing things, her mind drifting off into the idea that something was going to happen when it wasn’t. yet, the vision she had seen, the vision that made her walk to the alleyway without realising it had dragged her here. “oh…nothing..nothing..” she commented, shaking her head, hoping it would shake the feeling in the pit of her stomach that something would happen.
hearing the other, she nodded her head, scratching the back of her neck. “I’m fine, really I am.” she commented, she was fine, well as fine as someone who kept having nightmares about death. “just..kinda zoned out I guess, didn’t mean to scare you if I did.”
ONCE UPON A TIME 6.02, A Bitter Draught
it's possible that everyone who was brought back was now bonded. lizzie was related to her fiancé, his family was the polar opposite of her blood one, so it always fascinated her how the mikaelson group dynamic worked. running dirty fingers through her hair, eleanor nodded to the other. feeling instantly soothed once in her presence. "you're back too, so that means..." she trailed off, as her brain worked at a much faster pace than she could currently handle. "well now i have a horrible headache, do you think you remember your way to the boarding school?" all her senses were fuzzy, along with her vision and nerves. it felt as if she had been numb for several years, waking up from a coma like state, but it was different than that. she hadn't been hooked up to helpful nutrients, so her bones ached and she felt dry, it caused her to shudder.
it felt different, almost unnerving being back. she knew she had died, there was no way to stop the merge and here she was. god, she wondered how long she had passed but no, she needed to pluck up the courage to head back home or to the boarding school. her eyes narrowed ever so slightly as she saw the other, almost as if she could sense that they were both alike, both back from the dead. this set the uneasiness that lizzie felt already to now, a ten.
“could i?” she commented, as she heard the other speak, hoping to settle the feeling she had. talking to the girl would put things into perspective for her.
SAM CARPENTER Scream VI (2023)
it was far too early for gabriela's face to show the exact amount of excitement that ran though her body once elena pulled out the extra coffee. machine coffee was the bane of the demons existence, it provided no actual energy and tasted burnt. taking the cup as if it was treasure, she smiled sweetly at the other, grateful to be so in sync.
"I mean unless someone that was raised from the dead was really bad, like not a demon who fell in love and is grumpy about life in general." before meeting tyler, gabi's life was filled with violence and moments that would stick with her for the rest of her life. even if she managed to do good things now, it would never erase the things they did. only few knew that she was a demon, not wanting it to get around town, it wasn't easy to explain. "does uhh damon know that you are part of the faction? cause i haven't told tyler yet, but i plan to when he comes home..." she trailed off a smirk on her lips. "it will probably be the next morning when i actually manage to say something."
Elena leaned back into the car and pulled out a second coffee. "Call it intuition," she said as she handed it over to her friend. She was going to use it to bribe the morgue guy, but she had other tricks up her sleeve if necessary.
As they walked into the hospital, Elena scanned her badge and let them into the service elevator that would take them downstairs. "Yeah, I don't believe it, either. Unless we're missing something, it seems like the dead that have been raised are innocent." She thought about Summer, certainly she wasn't out there killing witches and vampires, right? "It's too close to be a coincidence, but why would they raise the dead and then kill more supernatural?" Whoever was behind the recent goings on had to have some kind of master plan, and Elena was determined to figure out what it was.
hayley rolled her eyes at his comments, they'd known each other for years now and still there had been no change in her reaction. however, it was now always followed with a cheeky smile, knowing that was always the way to soothe the original. "you've had to holler for me since we met." a smirk grew on her lips before shaking her head softly. "klaus we have gone over this before, we are not disbanding the faction. it is still getting it's bearings and with this serial killer on the loose, it's needed more than ever."
rolling her shoulders back, she folded her arms and gave klaus a glare. "have you seen that boy our daughter has been sneaking around with? he reminds me of you and i hate that she grew up with my taste in men. her taste in women has always been better."
"Sine when do I need to hollor after the mother of my first born," he said stepping into line with hayley. "You know I heard rumors again, about people disliking all the faction members being Mikaelson's," he commented. That was people for you, never good enough. "We need to end this before it becomes a problem."
