i really like the trope of an extremely traumatized whumpee sharing a bed with caretaker, who just happens to be their partner.

they don’t do anything, it’s not like that.

it’s the way that caretaker holds whumpee, giving them warmth and a sense of security, helping them fall asleep, and comforting them after nightmares.

now whumpee can relax despite everything they went through; they trust caretaker so much, and caretaker loves them so much, even with all their trauma.

whumpee can only sleep when caretaker is near them, they’ve become their entire sense of security.

it’s just so sad- but so perfect 😭

Whumpee stifles their sobs behind their hand. They stare at the ceiling, trying to calm themself down after a particularly nasty nightmare. Finally, the tears stop and whumpee can catch their breath long enough to look at whumper next to them in bed.

The whumpee isn't ready for it, maybe they don't expect their attacker to hurt them.

They almost mistake it for some sort of odd embrace before they feel a searing pain in their stomach.

The whumper steps away, leaving them clutching the hilt of the blade shoved deep into their flesh, blood begins to drip between their fingers.

The whumpee collapses to their knees as the support of the whumper disappears, eyes cast up to their betrayer, full of hurt and surprise.

just something i've been thinking about recently

just read a REALLY cute snowed in fic so now of course i have to make whumpy prompts from that concept heehee hoohoo

cw: intimate whumper, branding, (attempted) abandonment, caretaker whump, burning

cold, shivering whumpee whose only source of warmth is whumper/whumper's blankets, so they have to choose between sleeping on the floor or climbing into bed with whumper

whumper bringing a branding iron over to whumpee to help them "stay warm"

whumper trying to leave whumpee outside in the snow, but whumpee clings to their pants and cries for them not to leave them as they're inadvertently dragged along the ground

a whumpee who ran away, but has no choice but to come back to whumper as the weather gets worse. whumper drapes them in their blankets, puts them next to a fire, and all but invades their personal space as they whisper to them "welcome home."

caretaker who has no qualms about giving whumpee their bed and all of their blankets and suffering in silence as they lay uncovered on the sofa

whumper slamming whumpee against the iron cover of the fireplace, burning their back on it

Pick a character from your WIP that you think is under-developed and write their origin story. Or create a new character, same idea.
