little late BUT here we go y'all! many thanks to everyone who recommended prompts! EDIT - FIXED DAY 30 ON THE IMAGES
Welcome to Whumpay 2025! Up above you will see the basic prompt list and down below the cut you will see it written out in a list as the rules
Rules are the same as usual -
You only have to use one (Or two, if you’re doing the extreme edition.) prompt a day! But you’re welcome to use multiple if you want to, and it still counts for both.
I know the description of the blog says it’s a writing event, but if you want to draw or make other kinds of content, that’s cool too.
Have fun, tag content warnings (such as noncon, graphic violence, etc) and try not to be crushed by the mortifying ordeal of posting your writing.
This is a pretty chill event so you can start posting whenever but I’ll be reblogging posts made to the #Whumpay2025 tag throughout May.
scaled things back a bit this year, so theres no mini challenges or extreme edition, but if you want a smaller challenge choose one prompt from each category and post one each week

hero keeping villain as a trophy, showing them off at parties and letting anyone do whatever they want to them
The hero shivered in the cold, bundled up in a coat. Their ride was supposed be here a half an hour ago. Out of the blue, a lone taxi pulled up to the curb.
“Need a ride?” The driver asked.
The hero knew that voice. They peeked inside. The villain.
“Not a chance in hell,” the hero hissed. “Get out of here.”
“Come in,” the villain said. “What did I ever do to you?”
“Should I start listing things?”
“Come on. The snow’s about to start.”
The hero looked up. The sky was a concerning shade of grey. Freezing to death, or an unpleasant car ride. They briefly weighed their options.
“Fine,” the hero conceded.
They got right in the passenger seat and reached for a control knob. “But I choose the music.”
Stockholm syndrome in whump. Yes or yes? 👀
five dialogue prompts for characters who have a hard time resting :)
"Don't sit up. You'll rip your stitches."
"You need to calm down. Your heart rate is spiking."
"Stop trying to get up. I don't want you fainting again."
"Lie back down, please. Your fever is too high for you to be moving around."
"I know we have to keep moving, but if we don't treat that wound now, it'll slow us down even more."
I get my media recommendations the old fashioned way: by watching someone I follow on here go on an unhinged reblog spree of media related content until I eventually decide to go "alright, what's all this then"
Not gonna draw attention to the post because I suspect the person might blow a gasket, but it's always so funny to me when you see someone picking apart fanart, in this case, a popular fan Ot3 pairing, and they're like, "y'all have brainrot, this'll never be canon, you realize that?"
And maybe I'm just ancient, but since when has fandom ever been about validating canon? Canon is incidental to fandom output. It is, at best, a guideline. You can stick to it, or you can go so far off the beaten path that you fall off the edge of the world and wind up in a new one where the map has words like "here be dragons" stamped in the upper corner.
Fandom is about exploration beyond the canon. It can look like canon, talk like canon, and sometimes even emulate it so perfectly you'd swear you've found the author's secret account, but it doesn't have to.
Ultimately, however, it's about having fun. And if you can't understand that, I have no idea what you're doing here.
Take a piece or dialogue (or write one) and add details between each character's responses that describe their reactions to what was just said, what they do physically, and/or what memories the conversation is triggering for them. How much can you add before it starts to annoy you as a reader?
genuinely fucked up that if i want to interact with someone online i have to say words and have a conversation instead of just mashing my face against them like a cat
flirty or threatening? dialogue prompts

“good god, you are a pain.” “then why are you even here?” “maybe i’m a masochist.”
“say that again i dare you.” “what are you going to do about it if i do?”
“your existence unnerves me.” “aw, i’m flattered.”
“hi honey.” “don’t honey me, you just threw a book at me!”
“huh, you know when you’re not scowling at me your eyes look a little more blue than green.”
“what if one day you wandered off a cliff?” “would you join me?”
“sometimes i feel like you want to get hit.” “by you? most certainly.”
“miss me?” “i had wondered where my headache went.”
“you are certainly interesting.” “is that a compliment or are you making fun of me?” “yes.”
“i’m not docile by any means.” “i’ve noticed, i notice everything about you.”
“i need help to bury a body.” “and you thought of me? aw.” “actually, i’m the only one that would miss you if you went to prison.” “you’d miss me?”
“i hate you!” “as long as you feel something towards me.”
“watch it!” “it’s cute how easy i can rile you up.”
“do you truly hate me?” “i wish that was possible.”
