Like what you like, enjoy the band’s you liked before, enjoy things that have nothing to do with being goth. As long as you understand the community, the music, and the lifestyle then you’re goth. Fuck that gatekeeper bullshit, goth is about individuality, not being a clone of everyone in the 80s. Of course you should understand where the subculture came from, listen to or at least familiarize yourself with the original bands, understand the fashion and literature and you’re ready to go.
