Karuta time!

Once again it’s time for the next set of Karuta Cards from Sinbad no Bouken. As always, this is an amateur translation. I’ll do them in sets by letters as they become available to me. Today is the S set.

Sa- The country Sasan's creed is guarded by land's order of knights. ササン王国教義を守る騎士団の国。

Shi- The man who will become overlord of the seven seas, Sinbad. シンドバッド七海の覇王となる男。

Su- Spartos, now small, will become one of the eight generals. スパルトス今は小さい末来の八人将。

Se- Sindria Trading Company, flying in the world. せかいに羽ばたくシンドリア商会。

So- Break-even is not everything in business. そんとくがすべてじゃないよ商売は。

KARUTA TIME

Hello any and everyone who’s been following my translations of the SInbad no Bouken Karuta cards. At this point, all of the letters have been released. Congratulations! However, I am still misisng the first sets of the cards. These sets include (Listed in both the English set and the actual Kana):

Any one who further wishes to provide the Karuta cards to me so I can go back and translate the original sets, please send me a message with the files. I will only accept image files, so please don’t send zips. If for any reason your message is not going through, please send me an ask with your name and I’ll get back to you. I request good quality images and require both the front and the back of the card in its original Japanese. Also, please include a link to your blog so I can give you the credit you deserve for the cards you provided. Thank you everyone for your support, and anyone who helped me fix translations ^-^. The Organisation XIII Calendar

The idea was that Xigbar was taking pictures of people, so I tried to get natural poses. Some were willing, some less so, others without knowing their picture was taken. The images weren't all taken in the order presented as Xigbar's was definitely taken after Xaldin's. I tried to have a unique pose in each picture so that I could challenge myself with angles, textures, and perspectives. They were all drawn on the same size paper with the same portrait layout. Please do not repost elsewhere. I listed it as mature due to a few risque drawings, though nothing is exposed.

This was just a basic test with a colour pencil texture. I wanted to run some basic ideas with colouring by different mediums. The original lineart is done by Princesselemmiriel and can be found here. I own nothing, just the ideas.

Karuta time!

Next set of Karuta Cards from Sinbad no Bouken. As always, this is an amateur translation. I’ll do them in sets by letters as they become available to me. This one took a while because I was having a lot of trouble with it… Today is the Y set.

Ya- Across the mountain, across the valley, long journey to Artemirya やま越え、谷越え、道のり遠い　アルテミヤラ。

Yu- Yunan manifests the disappearing mystery many travellers. .ユナン現れては消える謎多き旅人。

Yo- Welcome! Mysterious land Heliohapt. ようこそ！神秘の国エリオハプト゚へ。

Three colour Challenge

I’ve seen this challenge on youtube, so I decided to do it myself. Had some friends give me three colours through HTML codes, and used those three colours to make this. It’s a total of 7 layers, not including the outline, and uses a watercolour brush. The original line art can be found here and is done by suiish. Please show some love to the original artist.

Old pic again. THis one is primarily an experiment with glow effect. To make it look like she’s irridescent. The original line art can be found here but I’m currently still looking for the original artist. The blog it links to does not contain the original image, and if I recall from earlier attempts, is not the original holder of that name.

Karuta time!

It’s been a great run and it’s finally time to bring it to a close. I’ve enjoyed translating the Karuta sets and having the help of those who provided me with the cards. This set had actually already been translated, so I’m just going to copy the translations here. But a Karuta set wouldn’t be complete without all the letters. So to close off the Karuta Cards. Here is the Vowel set.I apologize in advance. I couldn’t get any copies of them without the arrows in it.

I-　The People of Imuchakk. Gentle, giant warriors. イムチャック大きな身体の優しい戦士。

U-　Shut up! I'll kill you Sinbad!! うるせえなぶつ殺してやるシンドバッド！！

E-　Rurumu teaches the importance of smiles. えがおが大事ルルムの教え。

O-　I never thought the day would come when I'd be called an old man おじさんと言いおれる日が来るなんて・・・。
