Cole was the last to leave. He is always the last to leave. He says he doesn’t live far, but I detect the lie. Cole cannot lie and keep eye contact. I detected that within the first week I knew him. I do not say anything though, for I do not want a dent in my metallic frame. The warehouse is very silent after Cole leaves, which could seem frightening to some, but is peaceful to me. I cannot fear. It is not in my programming. I can only detect nervousness and anxiety, but cannot feel them. The warehouse does not make me detect nervousness and anxiety when it is empty, though it could make others feel afraid. Jay would be afraid. I’ve detected 3,497 individual things he is afraid of since the moment I met him. Large, dark, empty spaces that have heavy equipment that make no sound is on the list. I do not linger in the warehouse, however. My apartment sits at the top, with a perfect view of the city skyline. My apartment is not very big, it only has room for a place to keep my clothes hung and a charging station for when I power down, or ‘sleep’. I do not 'sleep’ much, because I only require 5 hours of maximum charging time until I have a full charge. Instead, I stare out the window and out at the city, deep in analysis. I go back through my day and analyze every detail. I mostly critique myself, and how I could be a better human. On this night, I critique my first conversation I had with Lloyd. I mentioned that I argue with my mom, but he knows I do not acquire a mom. I also accidentally spoke in fax, which a human does not understand. I must keep in check when I switch languages that quickly. I also believe I squeezed Lloyd and Kai too hard during the birthday hug. Lloyd was rubbing his left bicep the whole day; I may have damaged it. I need to remember not to use all my strength when I detect excitement in myself. When Garmadon attacked today, Lloyd got very emotional, which both stimulated me and worried me. When teenagers have mood swings like that, or experience that level of rage towards something, it may lead to something malicious. However, I did enjoy hearing the passion in his voice, I do comply with his feelings about his father. At least, I believe I do. I cannot feel. Oh. There is my internal alarm. It is time to charge for the night. The warehouse is silent, but the city is not. The sound doesn’t bother my 'sleep’ like it would do others. I am a heavy sleeper, like Kai. I will not wake to any sound, but maybe it is my programming. I do not know. Tomorrow is a new day. Though I detect that something bad is coming, it cannot be worse than one of Mrs. Watson’s infamous pop-quizzes L-O-L. Good night.

Okay so do you ever think about how the circle is (accidentally) a recurring motif in Ninjago? A running list of examples:

Ouroboros, the snake eating its own tail, which is commonly represented in a circular shape and represents infinity with endless return. Thats how they defeat the Great Devourer, actually, by getting it to bite its own tail

Spinjitzu is essentially the process of weaponizing circular motion. Airjitzu is similar, and even creates a sphere of air/light around the user

In the earlier seasons, Lloyd's main attack involved creating balls of energy

The light from portals - time vortex, Traveler's Tea, the Blind Man's Eye, the Realm Crystal - tend to resemble vortexes

Dragons often have to spin in order to traverse realms

Kryptarium is a panopticon style, which is circular in design. On that note, the s8 Lloyd v Garmadon fight happening at Kryptarium. Lloyd was familiar with the usual procedure of saving Garm, only for that typical cycle of saving and losing his father as Garmadon throws him through the wall and out of the prison

Actually, lets take it a step further. Cycles of violence. Sins of the father. History repeating itself. Harumi and Loyd's backstories causing, opposing, and reflecting one another, with her ending where Lloyd began and vice versa. The inheritance of elemental power, something endlessly recursive. Generational trauma.

Not to mention theres a heavy emphasis on either breaking cycles or perpetuating them. Lloyd saying "I wont let it do to me what it did to you." Harumi saying "i want you to feel the emptiness i feel." Morro saying "I make my own destiny." The Overlord possessing the Great Devourer so it would bite Garmadon. Lloyd wanting to be like his father but then being a hero instead. Nya quoting her mother in her final moments. Again i repeat. Generational trauma.

Theres just. This overwhelming sense of recursion and cycles throughout the entire series, and im mad bc im like 90% sure the writers didnt do that intentionally. Im not smart enough to put it into words but if i think about this for too long im gonna start biting things

I'm laughing so hard at the idea of Kai and Akita just doing so Reckless™ and accidentally killing Kataru, Lloyd, nya (and the rest of the ninja too) via a heart attack. They'd barely make it through a day together.

Kai and Akita thrive off of Chaotic Righteous Moron Energy, they will not hesitate to pick a fight with anyONE you mess with them? You look at their family wrong? It’s Fight Time, there is no fear in either of these red-coded fools, they would pick a fight with the FSM himself for kicks. Kataru and Nya are in tears trying to get them not to Pick That Fight, Lloyd you’re trying but get that look out of your eyes, the other ninja are in the background with popcorn.
