Oh man! I have this friend, and they’re regularly yelled at and verbally abused by their mother. Barely a day goes by when they don’t text me about how their mum shouted at them or called them lazy. It’s absolutely awful, because they can’t tell anyone else because their mother has such a good mask on of being a caring person! They’re not happy where they are, but they don’t wanna leave their mother behind either, and this makes me so sad. They’re gay, and they can’t tell their mom because she’s told them she ‘didn’t raise them to be gay’, and it’s sick. I’m disgusted.
Please, we gotta get awareness of stories out here!
The fae smiled, sharply: “Give me your name, child.”
“Uhhhhh. Stick.”
“What.”
“Does Leaf work better? I’m just kinda looking around this clearing. Look, I’m trans, I haven’t decided on one yet, I’m throwing some spaghetti at the wall, you know how it is.”
A comic about the spectrum of responses to stress - we talk alot about the more extreme ends of this and trauma, but the more subtle and every day responses can be harder to spot. if we can understand our own and other’s responses better, problems Are easier to confront and blaming is less likely to happen :) hope it’s helpful!!
Howdy! Your work is a huge inspiration for me, and I think I finally want to take on a big animation idea that's been living in my head rent free for years. Do you have any advice for a total beginner who wants to dive straight into animation? Thanks so much, have a great year!
hey there! I actually put together a playlist of animation/storyboarding resources on youtube that might be helpful here! featuring suggestions of free/cheap programs, tutorials for those programs, and some basic info/exercises! I especially recommend anything about the 12 Principles of Animation and Glen Keane Animates a Scene, those were pretty formative for me!
mindset-wise: play, have fun, forget about perfection! deciding to do something you don’t know how to do is a great way to learn how to do it!
