thinking about el learning how to make friendship bracelets.
thinking about el making tons of friendship bracelets for max and sending them to her each month.
thinking about max coming home from a particularly bad day at school and seeing a package and just forgetting about everything bad for a moment.
thinking of max not knowing how to make friendship bracelets so instead she sends el her scrunchies.
thinking about them carrying pieces of eachother's love everywhere.
screaming, sobbing, sliding down a wall.
Hot Take : The Heroes of Olympus might be Rick Riordan's worst written series, with the most interesting characters.
Compare this series with PJo. Though it was written in the first person, both the story and characters were three dimensional. I usually have a visual representation running in my head when I read books, and this series became my favorite because I was able to feel the emotions and plot like it was personal.
On the other hand, HoO was much more two dimensional when it came to the plot. Half of the time, most of my re-reads were just skipping to parts I liked.
The characters were the most interesting part in the story for me, and they too could have been much better.
I understand why Leo is a big favorite. The way Leo was written was top tier, and he would have been my favorite if I didn't get distracted by Piper Mclean, and Jason Grace.
Both characters have so much potential, and its that reason that drew me to them.
Piper Mclean was so much more to me, because she was strong and smart, and reliable, and someone the rest went to for comfort or strength. But she was also beautiful, the daughter of a goddess who usually sat in the sidelines watching the drama (that she usually started) unfold around her.
Piper Mclean wanted to take a stand.
Jason Grace was the golden child, the one who was handed the baton, and was told to be the child he should be, and he took it with no questions asked. He was hardworking, resilient, loyal, and he loved his friends so much that he died for them.
He was a hero, and it wasn't because of his father.
All the characters are so beautifully intricate and human, but the writing doesn't allow us to see it.

Wilbur made another Reddit post about Ghostbur. No exclamation point today
Hey guys! Got some good news!
Ghostbur isn’t dead. Ghostbur is suspended. He’s never had a ‘living’ body and never will but to say he is dead is a misrepresentation.
Ghostbur is as close to a torturous limbo as he can possibly get. He has been in the afterlife for almost 6000 days! (That’s 16 years) and it never seems to get easier.
Not only is he confined to a life of loneliness and silent darkness but every ache, every pain, every little sting he feels on his body never seems to subside. He hurt his fingers scratching a wall over a decade ago but they still feel raw as if it was yesterday.
But that’s not pertinent to his current situation. That’s the last injury Ghostbur was afflicted with. He has spent the past years sat, limply leaning against the damp wall. Even if he was to retain any injury he contracted it wouldn’t matter.
He hasn’t moved in years.
He hasn’t checked the dot matrix out of fear. The room lights up whenever it updates and Ghostbur scrunches his eyes up as tight as he can until the light fades a few hours later.
This also helps dam the tears from burning his cheeks as he himself is damned to this plane.
He has spent 5 months on the material plane. He has spent 16 years in limbo.
A new addition to Ghostbur’s horrific existence is the slow burning of his memory. As time elapses he seems to lose track of his good memories as well as the bad ones he forgot long ago. Only a few remain;
He remembers the smell of baked bread.
He remembers sparring with technoblade as a child.
He remembers the crowds and the loud cheers.
He remembers a guillotine.
He remembers a cold eternal icy wasteland.
He remembers Tommy’s kindness.
One thing remains true. Ghostbur is the remnant of a plighted man who was sentenced to death for his evil. Ghostbur’s situation is a result of that man’s return.
Ghostbur feels guilty. Ghostbur misses everyone.
Goodbye
Notice how all 5 of the original members of L’Manberg still havn’t been able to move on? They are are all still obsessed with it and it’s ruining all of their lives.
C!Eret: Despite Eret spending every moment trying to better not only their life but the entire server’s, they still hold so much shame to the fact they betrayed their friends and caused the first ever cannon deaths on the server. Unable to properly move on they hold L’Manberg’s morals close to heart.
C!Fundy: Fundy despises L’Manberg. Practically jealous of it. Jealous for ur being treated more like a person than he ever was. Jealous it’s what Wilbur cared for most, more then his own son. Jealous of the respect it’s name commands. So jealous that it was treated how he was deserved.
C!Tubbo: He feels empty without L’Manberg. His own words is that he feels he has no purpose. There’s no point to his actions. Tubbo was the most loved and respect of L’Manberg’s three presidents (not that that’s a huge achievement when your competition is Wilbur and JSchlatt) and he built that country back up from rubble with such little support. He cared so much about every citizen and making sure L’Manberg continued to stand for what Wilbur originally wanted it to stand for.
C!Tommy: Tommy yearns for the early days when he was still so close to Wilbur and Tubbo, before everything began to feel different. When he could still feel safe. He misses how it felt, how it smelt, how it looked. I seriously doubt Tommy cared for L’Manberg the same way the other members did. He was never there for the ideals, he was there for Wilbur and Tubbo. Honest opinion, if Wilbur hadn’t already gone off the deep end, Tommy would’ve ran away with Tubbo before the festival. I fully believe the only reason he didn’t was a gut feeling that something bad was going to happen to Wilbur. The only reason he hasn’t moved on is because it’s the last place that Wilbur felt like “Wilbur”
C!Wilbur: It’s the last place someone looked at him without fear or hatred or distrust in their eyes. It was the last place everyone saw him as a person. The last place he was looked at with genuine positivity.
I made a silly little riordanverse pride parade!!
i’m tired of the “mike wheeler doesn’t deserve will byers” posts because im sorry, are we talking about the same mike wheeler?
the mike wheeler that went out looking for will, not once, but twice, even after being specifically told not to, and even after everyone believed he was dead
the mike wheeler that keeps a binder full of will’s drawings and has them plastered all over his bedroom and basement walls, the mike wheeler who had the biggest smile once he got his hands on will’s art once again
the mike wheeler that defended will and stood up to his bully in front of the entire school
the mike wheeler that would always notice when there was something wrong with will
the mike wheeler that reassured will
the mike wheeler who slept in a hospital chair to not leave will’s side
the mike wheeler that biked all the way across town in the pouring rain to apologize to will after their fight, and when he couldn’t find him ran to the woods because he knew he’d be there
the mike wheeler who said this
and this
you really think this mike wheeler
doesn’t deserve will byers?
