I couldn’t help myself and rewrote this scene, doing my best to nail Tim’s character but still make him react to his mom’s death like a young child. You can find it here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/30682937/chapters/75709541
While doing so, I decided to just start writing little TimBits from comics and fanon for fun, so hop over the and request something if you feel :>
YES! YES! I PREDICTED IT! IM A MASTERMIND! the whole 'mature for his age' thing! i had it pinned from the start!!
i probably shouldn't be celebrating, but im so proud of myself right now lmao.
in all honesty, this scene is so heartbreaking. if my dad did this to me, i think id be bitter for a couple of days.
not a clue! that certainly makes more sense, though. im just going off of this
dick and tim gossiping about bruce. neither of them considered bruce as their dad; more like the weird younger uncle who used to babysit them
you know, realistically, tim brings up a good point. i mean, he wasn't just a lonely child boo hoo or anything, it's implied that his only present family would up and leave semi frequently to the point that it was normalized for tim, who has a VERY strong moral compass.
this panel sequence is just... so much. first of all, it hits the awkward part of tim drake just right. deny it all you want, the boy blurts dumb shit kinda often lol.
then, there is the bond between the two boys. they may not be bruce's sons at that point, but they certainly do act like brothers. plus, that connection to bruce that tim has. man, it produces some good angst.
BAM. comic book proof of tim being left alone. i will never doubt another fanfic writer again. okay, that's a lie.
anyone else laughing at how tim's age makes zero sense?
can you imagine working with someone who you've idolized since the age of seven and have them not smile at you for months? smiling is like the bare minimum for any friendliness or openness whatsoever. i doubt he literally never smiled, but what tim says suggests that the environment wasn't quite easy for a while.
also tim being starved for praise is always what i wanna see. sorry fluff fans.
it is obligation. it's unhealthy and destructive, but it's his obligation.
nice
(context: tim is missing in europe? for a mission after a fight with his dad, who thinks tim ran away)
i really want to be mad at jack, but he's not completely terrible, just like he isn't really all that great either.
he somewhat behaves like a father who didn't really want children, but now that he has one that needs him the most, he's struggling to be the dad tim needs.
dick grayson being tim's protective older brother.
what in dog's name is this, bruce? PLAY WITH YOUR DOG, BRUCE
i used to blog about comic books, but my latest project has been selling my cute lil stickers!
