My Brain

Honestly I rather quite like Tumblr, it feels like the inside of my head, I don't think I've had my emotions be so of the wall, and I'm a theater kid, that's my whole thing, there is just so much cool stuff.

I like it here's it's cozy and loud, and full of pretty pictures.

MHA has the distinct issue with the fact it's one guy writing it with a few editors chipping in, I think a lot of Manga and Anime could avoid some of their issues with just not expanding and using concepts.

Like there is so much in MHA that could have more done with it, there are more characters then there is time, there are 20 Students in the class, but I don't think we even know the reason they wanted to become heroes, what are the motivations for half of them?

Heroism has become this sort of sport in a way, competitive and there are so many of them, they have a ranking system, from memory, No Other Series Has a Ranking System For Heroes, because they don't need them, all other series have your Listers, A, B, C, D, there is no numerical title, and what the fuck does it mean to be No.1.

See that's what I want to see, why the fuck does being No.1 matter? And who better to ask that question in verse by Shoto, a victim of this sport, him and his brothers breed like Pokémon for their fathers selfish ambition to a title that in the long terms is really meaningless, a target really, what is being No.1 if anything but a status symbol, a don't fuck with me sign, the get out of jail free card. Like seriously did anyone ever explain what the fuck being number one even meant?

Why the fuck do Katsuki and Izuku even want that title, they just want it to be the best?

What I would have loved to see but I am so disappointed that we didn't get was MHA's version of Young Justice's Disordered, a final reflection and dissection's of the characters, the Todoroki's are their worlds version of the Wayne family.

Show me why Shoto is the better version of Endeavour, not just in power but who he is as a person, someone better, he wouldn't want anyone to endeavor what he and his family went through, he is MHA's Dick Grayson so desperate to become nothing like his father, taking the best parts of him making himself better, stable not one to create his own legacy through a child. He doesn't want another him, another Natsou, Fuyumi or Touya, he doesn't want another Endeavour as that name isn't a symbol of Enji's desire to become No.1 to Endeavor through everything that life throws, but no.

Endeavor isn't his title, it is badge of shame, it's not his. Endeavor is the title of the family, to hold out against him, Rei was endeavoring so much pain from seeing her family burn around her, eldest burning.

Fuyumi was holding out for the hope of a normal life, one she could enjoy and share with her family.

Natsou was holding out for the day he could leave to become his own person as far away from his family as he could.

Shoto Endeavored to even become himself he lost his childhood, but you can't lose something you never had.

And Touya, that poor boy so wide eyed and simply wanting his fathers love, his father to save him, but he burned his father frozen watching him, only to be saved by a demon who walked out of the flame.

This is MHA's Batfamily, and Touya has so much in common with Jason it hurts, they both just wanted their Father to save them, but they burned, Bruce tried to save Jason but he couldn't Enji froze, the two were brought back by demons, and had no qualms about murder, to kill to get that attention after they lost a portion of their lives.

But they never explore that, Horikoshi has had several chances to ask, how does it feel to die and be revived, to lose that time, but he never has.

If he had a few other writers to conifer with, you'd get something truly interesting, MHA needed more time in the oven, it has the hallmarks of a truly interesting story, but really didn't get the time to develop, so much was left unanswered, unwritten and unresolved, the status at the end of the series is the same, yeah it gets slightly better, but does it.

We still have people wanting to become heroes, we still have the rankings we still have people gunning for first, and what's that going to do?

Create another Todoroki family, and with Quirk Singularity that oversight of Hubris is going to start festering again, it may not be from the demon in the shadows, but rather the man in the mirror repeating the same mistakes that one man driven by the selfish desire for first made.

And this time they won't be facing Touya with an equal, but they might be facing Magneto with no answer.

Pride Month was spiked by the 1969 Stonewall Riots, in which angered at the harassments of the Police and Social Discrimination, members of the LGBTQIA when on a Six Day Long Strike, from June 28th in protest of the treatment.

Pride Month is in June because Stonewall caused an uptick in the Gay Rights movement, which continue to this day which is why it is celebrated, yes being Gay has existed for as long as we have been Humans, but Pride Month was initially celebrated because it was the Zero Point for the extended rights of the Gay community.

That's the reason it exists, not as a month of being able to freely being able to show off your sexuality, but rather a celebration that people can so freely, it like many things has been coopted as a month when companies can curry favor for their empty merch that is simply to get money out of what is a celebration of resistance and change for so many peoples lives. The terms Slacktivism is the term widely used to describe it when companies peddle Pride Merch without really being onboard with what the original context entailed.

The reason why there has been so much freedom of celebrating who you are is because of Stonewall, and Pride Month is Meant To Be, a celebration of that.

So no, not talking about it is how it started, not having serious discussions about why there is so much talk, it's because people bravely broke the glass ceiling. That allowed all of the grievances held by the LGBTQIA community in a public, international

Now I didn't actively know all the details of this, but it's a simple search to find out why it exists.

Also fun fact, it's longer in Canada, they don't celebrating it just in June, it's until September, in which it's known as Pride Season.

Also seeing as it is now March and Wellington and Christchurch celebrate it in March, Happy Pride Month to my Fellow Kiwi's.

So modified some of the colours on Momo's Season 4 Look (Sorry for using the Arabic Dub version only one that I could get at a good full body that didn't have that stupid shelf in full view).

The colours are based of the new TUM art.

And Honestly I like the black cape and the, Bandolier? Utility Skirt? With the pale colours, the lighting making it look white, so I swapped it to the pre existing white, so now the diamonds on the side match up with the rest of the costume finally.

Whilst I'm not 100% about the Arabic changes, to explain how that would work, I'd say it's a mesh so it works with the fats being semi liquified before forming their objects, I think this would likely be included with the full winter gear to keep her slightly warmer.

The Black boots are an inclusion I added after having it pointed out that her hair resembles a Cranes tailfeathers.

Cranes do have read markings often on the head, so the colours match up, and some have yellow orange feathers so all the colours are present.

Honestly pretty happy with the light change, I'm not 100% on it but it's a fun variant, the Arabic alterations are a bit, well dividing but I think they would work as a preamble before going full close cover as a pro, which likely is an improvement of the mesh design.

Batman; Gotham by Gaslight

Within the annals of cultural, pop cultural, and historical crime, there are few whose macabre methods could reach the bloody depths that 'yours truly,' Jack the Ripper, managed to plumb.

Five brutal deaths were all it took for that deadly name to resound for Five centuries. The echo of the deed has so scarred the psyche of man that Man collectively found 'champions' of their own to face the blood-soaked beast on the battlefield of 'what if' in an attempt, perhaps, to find a semblance of cold closure on one of the most famous cold cases in history.

A murderer must be hunted by a detective, and there is no more excellent detective at DC's disposal than Batman to solve the mystery of Jack the Ripper. It is a contest between legendary figures, a Dark Knight on a quest to capture a monster, two ghosts playing a grisly game of hide-and-seek through the foggy alleys of a Victorian-era Gotham lit not by neon ...but by Gaslight.

Ironically, even though Batman is DC's greatest detective, barely any detective work is done in both the movie and the original comic it is adapted from. Any investigative work done by Batman in both mediums to uncover the identity of Jack is brushed over, and the reveal of the killer's identity had nothing to do with anything Batman had done throughout the narrative.

Ultimately, Batman is almost railroaded into solving the mystery, and the climax is somewhat underwhelming and blunts the effect of the twist reveal of Jack the Ripper's true identity.

YES. Commissioner James Gordon IS Jack the Ripper. This risky reimagining elevated this adaptation to a height that its original comic did not achieve. The twist shocked the system for any DC fan familiar with Batman's relationship with Gordon. It is also expertly hinted at throughout the film for any sharp-eyed viewer interested in a whodunit, as the narrative presented many possible suspects, but Gordon was the only one who would have fit all the facts of the mystery. The twist was further muddied by the inspired decision to design Jack the Ripper to be as angular as possible, while Gordon had a softer, more rounded silhouette.

This culminates in a climactic showdown atop a burning Ferris wheel, which was ironically begun by a knocked-over gas lamp. At the end of a brutally animated brawl, Gordon allows himself to be consumed by the fire of the burning wheel. He is a good man driven into hellfire by his hellish desires. Was he the last evil of a bygone age sacrificed for a better future? Or was he just the latest in a never-ending cycle of self-destruction, doomed to go around in a wheel until the wheel eats itself alive?

Whatever the case, Gotham by Gaslight turned a throwaway 'what if' comic story into a film that embodies everything that makes a Batman story great. The film shows that, even if lit by gas, Gotham is still a city that needs its Dark Knight, regardless of what the city deserves.

There's an untapped comical potential when it comes to the engines and their near-immortal status...

And by that I mean, not enough people are writing just how simultaneously present and detached the engines are, when it comes to experiencing historical events beyond the impact the first and second world wars had on the railway industry.

The older engines especially should be saying the most unhinged things in reference to events that, to them are barely just footnotes and curiosities, but to their crew or passengers were huge in terms of socio-political upheaval and what not.

I mean, come on...

Here's a good example: Gordon was built around 4 years after women were granted voting power in the UK. To him the concept of women's suffrage and feminism was likely nothing new or strange, because he was created after a major event of women's rights. He would have thusly absorbed the notion that men and women deserve to be regarded with similar if not the same amount of respect (which explains why he of all engines doesn't fuss or argue too much when Dowager Hatt takes control of Sir Topham Hatt's duties, even if she's not exactly good at it).

Meanwhile engines who predate him in build would probably still consider this a fairly novel thing because they were built during a time when such things would be unthinkable and not to be openly talked about (not that they much see a point in denying the rights of this or that human, but they're still likely aware of the sociatal standards even if they make little sense to them).

They might even need a while to adapt to speaking of such events without fear of repercussions, as they would likely not be strangers to keeping both passenger's and railway worker's affairs out of their mouths to ensure no harm came to those they served or were serviced by (and I'd recommend looking into the Pullman Company's ties with Black History for further emphasis on this).

Here's another good example:

Depending on where exactly you'd put Edward in this limitted production line, he's very likely experienced quite a few historical events both first and second hand. Some bigger, some smaller.

What I need to draw attention to, is that Edward would be aware enough of his general surroundings and what his crew and passengers talk about, to say some rather eyebrow raising things... Such as:

"Oh this day has been more hectic than the time they attempted to assassinate the Prince of Wales..."

"I haven't felt this young and spry since children were still allowed in the mines!"

"This is more of a mystery than when those three poor souls vanished in the Flannan Isles..."

"Driver told me that his missus and children took ill. It sounded near as bad as when the North West of England had an outbreak of arsenic poisoning... God bless, I hope it's just one of those seasonal stomach bugs I've heard of...."

And that's just Edward innocently spouting historical facts as yesterday's news type anecdotes. Imagine all the juicy things Emily would have to say :)

headcannon that jirou wears a really long dangly earring on the ear that got cut because she’s so used to the extra weight

I am loving this.

Who with Who?

A Fun idea that I am so sad that no-one has taken advantage of is the idea that everyone genuinely can't tell who's dating who between Jirou, Yaoyorozu, Todoroki and Kaminari, the massive Bi-energy that emanates from that group is as thick as a thundercloud, and it doesn't help that they are all so comfortable with each other.

Like Denki will throw his arms around all of them, pell-mell, he vibes in Momo's room, Shouto discusses the meaning and intricates of lyrics with Kyouka (his conspiracy theorist brain would love picking them apart), Momo and Kyouka are almost joined at the hip most days chatting away, and Denki and Shoto are just vibing doing what ever crosses their mind (talking about Western heroes at the moment).

Like this group is so fun it's formed of two of the most sunshiny smiley people in the class with the two socially kinda awkward sarcasm duo.

It's such a fun crew and I love the fanon interactions, like we get plenty of all three of them with Momo.

But what does the dynamic between Kyouka and Shouto look like, I think it would be really funny if those two interacting is the complete opposite of what everyone expects, that being a sullen staring contest over coffee but no, it's these two dorks gushing about their interests and their SO's like you walk into the common room and you hear Shouto excitedly talking about the little jump, bounce and smile that Momo did when she saw him that morning, and Kyouka intently listening nodding furiously.

One stupid little headcanon I like is that both are so enamored by Thomas The Tank Engine, Shouto likes it as the expressions are super easy to read and Kyouka loves the soundtrack, since basicly no-one comes into his room they haven't realised that he's been building a model railway in there, and there are some suspiciously high-priced models in his collection.

Denki wanders in one evening as he can't sleep (weirdly a common fanon thing with him, must be all the extra electricity keeping him up) to see Shouto running his trains and they just sit and watch them like Ash and Kristofferson.

Okay we are working this out, who has string!

It's just fun that there are two sun's and they just pull around their moon's who are completely enamored by their smiles and are so obvious about it but then everyone else is going full Shouto mode and are grouped together in the common room with several balls of thread (Borrowed from Mezo) which have been spanned across it trying to work out how the hell this relationship works.

To top that whole bit all of the four walk into the spiders nest of Blue, Red, Purple and Yellow threads, holding hands (Yes in the order just mentioned) with befuddled faces, the rampant hushed shouting dials down, Mina is melting at the image presented.

"ahh, Polyonomy" Utters Fumikage in the most deadpan tone possible. (He knows that's not how the relationship is, as does Katsuki but both of them are doing this for shits and giggles and are really committed to the bit.)

They all hand Ochaco 1000 Yen in defeat (mock for two of them), Shouto is processing the walls of string with an impressed expression, Momo simply looks confused, Kyouka is red in the face, and Denki half explodes into a peels of laughter whilst pointing at Momo and Shouto, then back at himself and scream laughing again.

The Gods have descended.

Another stupid idea that I need to draw is simply the idea that Momo has accidentally taken on most of the Class Rep duties and now is spiraling mess trying not to cry and the other three latch onto this, with there now being the living embodiment of a thunderstorm inhabiting the inside of the classroom, the floor is vibrating, it smells like ozone and is muggy as hell, several people are standing in the doorway, Katsuki is halfway under his desk, Aizawa doesn't even want to try erasing one of them as Denki is being handed permissions slips and reading them (How is his Dyslexic ass doing that?) Kyouka is ordering people to sit down and Shouto is giving her a back massage (Very nice hands) the idea that those three teaming up can create the physical environment of the inside of a Thunderstorm is a terrifying prospect, Aizawa ain't questioning he's doing the roll less he get a live performance of Thunderstruck.

It's so funny that they three are some of the chilliest people in the class but then it's the full force of Wall Socket, Surround Sound and Thermometer turning into forces of nature when their bestie get's insulted or starts crying, I'm calling this dynamic the MomoMilitia.

Those three will fight god for their friend at 3am, they will win.
