And it's silly of mine to even be surprised, we already knew that he cared: he died for him! But all the same, Akutagawa is someone so who feels so inherently evil, so deeply cursed, so fundamentally unfit for love, the fact that he's capable of loving someone in a way that is so deep, so spontaneous, so raw– it's so profoundly moving.

hm. atsushi is the #1 studio ghibli movie guy and he likes watching spirited away or howl's moving castle or my neighbor totoro one hundred times, and akutagawa is a goth who only watches the crow or good vampire movies or things with bela lugosi in them. this means that obviously they will watch movies that match neither of their tastes whatsoever but they still somehow like anyway, those being legally blonde and mean girls and other movies of that sort
