It was a mutual decision to break up between you and Changbin. The rate you were going was not going to end up well anyways. Better to end it mutually then to end it over an argument you decided over dinner with him. Luckily, you never went through with the plan to move in together. It would've been awkward to be stuck in a lease with your ex.

It was a lot of nights staring at the two-seater table you bought because no one came over your place besides Changbin anyways. You felt the coldness in winter nights without him there to hold you. It was silence in your home always. There was no longer anyone to talk to, no one to cook for when things were stressing you out, the lack of hoodies you could steal by the front door... it made you not want to go home.

Most nights were spent at the gym now or sleeping due to melatonin. Eventually, your body was the way you wanted it to be, but you still went to the gym just to busy yourself. It had became a habit to just run and listen to the loudest music you could find.

And after months, your house had gained sound once again. You had started talking to an accountant you met at a bakery. It was nice to have someone to talk to, someone who could provide you with the occasional hoodie, and who could enjoy the random pictures you take during the day. A real gentleman who cared.

Yet here you stood in front of Changbin at his house. You asked him to talk. To say he was shocked, it would be an understatement. You knew he was cute before, but he had been going to the gym too. It had been a year and here he stood in a wifebeater and sweatpants.

You slowly entered his house taking off your shoes at the door before sitting on the couch. "How have you been?" You ask lowly as he sits next to you.

"I have been okay. I been going to the gym; I see you have too. I have a new job as well downtown. This era of my life is going well. And you?" He was respectful as usual. You could tell he made more money by the new furniture, but he was humble as always. A good trait to have.

"I have a new guy, and he treats me well." You say as you look into his eyes. There is a gleam of hurt. "Good for you-" You stop him. "But he's not you Changbin..." He does the dog-like head turn. "Oh?"

You go to hold his hands taking your time in case he stops you, but he doesn't so you proceed. "I miss you. I cannot see myself being with anyone else. I don't want to be with anyone else." He processes what you are saying for a while before nodding.

"I'm glad you said that because I didn't want to be with anyone else either. I love y/n. I did then, and I do now. Did you really expect to replace me with anyone else?" He asks, placing a hand around your shoulder. You laugh and shake your head.

"No. I just wanted the temporary comfort. I feel bad though; I really used them for my own needs."

"Humans are inherently selfish, so I am not surprised. I think you should tell him though because you're mine, and I won't let you go a second time."

It has been the hardest day you have had in a long time. You take an uber to the dorms instead of your house to see your boyfriend. He was your comfort person, and you needed to feel comforted right now. He made you feel warm inside and like you could just be yourself.

When you arrive, you knock on the door. It is raining, so you are a little bit wet when Seungmin answers the door.

“Oh hey y/n. Minho is in his room.” He says stepping aside for you to come in.

“Hi Seungmin, and oh thank you” You barely manage to croak out.

After coming in, you take off your heels leaving you in just a dress and with your purse. You go down the hall and knock on his door. You heart heavy; you could feel the tears coming.

“Coming!” You hear Minho say. Some shuffles later he opens the door to your shaking and wet figure.

“Can you make me something to eat?” You ask softly.

“Damn Bambi, you look like shit. I’m not making you shit.” He joked, smiling as he pat your head lightly.

Expecting a quick lash back, but you just sobbed as you laid against his chest. He is confused and guilty as he rubs your back.

“I’m sorry babe. Was it the joke? I didn’t mean it. Of course I’ll make you something.”

You shake your head into his chest. He went into the kitchen carrying you, but not before closing his bedroom door. He sits you down on the counter as he looks in the fridge.

“What’s wrong babe? You’re messing up your make up.”

He began to make japchae for you. Once you’re crying is under control, you try to talk as slowly and calmly as possible.

“I got fired today. I don’t even understand what I did so wrong. All I did was bring the wrong color pen to a meeting.”

He sighed as he turned towards you. He ran a hand through your hair. “It is okay babe. They’re just assholes. We’re gonna find you a new job. Alright? I talk to Chan to come up with ideas between the three of us.”

“Okay.. thank you.”

He smiled “You know i’d do anything for you. It is truly nothing. You better eat all this food damn it.”

“Who are you threatening you flat footed-“

He interrupted you “Ahh there’s my girl!” You just laughed and punched his arm.
