Power and Control: Planets, Aspects and Influences in the Zodiac Chart

Mars in the 1st House – You like being in charge, asserting what you want, and you can be seen as a motivator for others. This is the position of the fearless leader, the unstoppable and the one who will be driven to see things through to the end if all aspects prove favorable. Here we see the entrepreneurs, the go-getters and those who are rarely phased by social criticisms about them. This is the position for someone who constantly hungers for more and their batteries are rarely out.

Mars in the 6th House – Here we have someone who is not a pushover, who takes on challenges with ease and who does things meticulously, even if the rage of Mars may follow them through work. This is not an aspect for the light hearted, as Mars here challenges and focuses their energy on things that make them passionate. Work will keep you motivated and even if this is a sixth House placement, you will easily catch everyone’s eye at work with just how good you are.

Mars in the 10th House –Charisma, charm and a workaholic. When Mars is placed here, you like to be in control. There is a power surge that goes through you, especially when you are praised by all. Mars in this position can make you a dictator at work, which will lead to your underlings to fear or respect you. There is a ruthlessness that comes with this placement because the native has worked hard to make it to their position. As with most tenth House placements, the native needs to learn to balance and be more considerate of others. Power comes easy but learn to be responsible with it.

Pluto in the 1st House – You exude power and control. This placement makes you polarize as people debate either fawning over you or despising you for no apparent reason. Here we see someone who has come to an understanding with their power. Pluto governs the underworld, hidden contracts and exposing truths. These natives had to go through a lot to be in the position they are in today. They hone and control it, while subtly letting others know that they are not to be messed with.

Pluto in the 10th House – To those with Pluto in the 10th, it is easy for you to come to terms with positions of power. You accept them gracefully, but you can be unbearable when you have authority over others. The lesson here is to learn to be more compassionate but to command the respect you crave. There needs to be a balance achieved in order for you to succeed, because if you let your power-hungry urges take over, you will self-destruct and start anew.

Tenth House Stellium – The perfectionist is unleashed when there is a Stellium in the House that Saturn governs. It is not a surprise if the native might come across as a control freak, that yearns for the limelight and wants to make it to the top. This is someone who will push themselves from an early age and will try to prove that they are the best. One failure can be heartbreaking to them, but they have the ability to bounce back with greater energy and control. For those with this Stellium, consider it both a curse and a gift. You can easily feel like Icarus, so make sure not to fly too close to the Sun because you can shine brightly on your own and do not need to prove or risk it all to make a point.

Pluto Conjunct the Midheaven – Much like Pluto in the 1st, this person commands with their presence and can be as polarizing. Beware of becoming infamous because you can easily become a savior and reach the heavens, but your enemies will aim to clip your wings and bring you down to hell. Humility and grace can be a challenge for someone with this position; however, if they do have their wings clipped, they will have a brutal fall and a powerful rise. Like the Phoenix, expect them to reemerge and reclaim their power. They will become stronger and potentially more ruthless the second time around.

Saturn in the 1st House – Magic comes with this placement because your life might feel like a fairy tale. There is nothing magical in the beginning, just hardship and trials that never seem to end. And then, something randomly shifts, and you are taking control of the situation. Because of the challenges you faced early on, you will be more equipped to tackle things later. You crave stability, which makes you seem power hungry, but in reality, you just want to find your footing and maintain permanence in your life.

Saturn in the 10th House –The obsessive and hardworking native will have a hard time listening to others who they do not respect. Saturn here makes the native respect authority and will simply tackle any tasks brought to them. This position makes the native obsess with their reputation. Work will fuel them and make them feel needed and secure. Their social standings will be tied in with their work ethic. To those with this position, taking a break may make them feel guilty.

Sun in the 10th House – An aura that captivates and allures when the Sun is in the tenth House. There will be smooth relationships with people at work. You command respect and represent authority, but in a way that makes people want to approach you. If Mercury is well aspected, you may even inspire with your words as your presence only grows with more power with time. Here we witness a natural leader with the support of their followers and peers to take on the world.

Sun Conjunct the Midheaven – When the Sun is making contact with the MC, this person represents a beacon of hope and can be a light in the hearts of many people. From the beginning of their Elementary School period, the native may have noticed there was something special about them. As time progressed and they entered the realm of higher education, they noticed that connecting and meeting people was easy for them. Those born with this position are at the highest point in their natal chart, so it only makes sense that they will be admired, beloved and adored as they get older.

Saturn Conjunct the Midheaven – Saturn here leaves their legacy for the world. They work hard and represent ambition. This is a position for the revolutionary, not in the way that Uranus promotes, but the type that will remembered decades after. Your work ethic is admirable, even enviable at times. There is a tendency to easily inspire others, especially when you are in positions of power. Saturn here (assuming aspects are favorable) can lead with pride and ethics. In this position, achieving your dreams has been tough but once you have conquered and taken your throne at the summit, only a Divine act can stop you.

I saw a recent ask about soulmates, and I was wondering, how do I know if my current partner is my soulmate? Is it okay if she isn't?

Signs that Someone is Your Soulmate

Your heart skipping a beat is not one of them.

1) The mutual benefit is balanced.

Imagine that a young woman is in a relationship with a rich old man. She needs him to pay for her tuition, rent, car, bills and clothes. He needs her for sex. The mutual benefit is not balanced. She would starve without him. But he, with all his money, could easily replace her with another just as pretty. They are not soulmates. They cannot be.

2) There is elemental compatibility.

If Water is the dominant element in your natal chart, and your boyfriend is Earth-dominant, that is a major sign that he is your soulmate. The compatible elements are: Water and Water, Earth and Earth, Water and Earth, Air and Air, Fire and Fire, and Air and Fire. Everything else is not.

3) Fixed energy dominates both of you.

This is in relation to the previous point. If you are Fire-dominant, and your wife is Water-dominant — Fire and Water being incompatible — this negativity can be overridden by mutual Fixed energy dominance. If you are a Leo dominant and she is a Scorpio dominant, there is still a big possibility that you are meant to be. This is because Fixed signs share the ideals of loyalty and stability.

4) Your skills are on par with each other’s.

If a man is a famous actor, and his husband does not work under the spotlight, but is a successful real estate broker, then their skills are on a similar level. Neither fame nor income is the criterion, but the level of reputation in their respective fields. There will never be a huge disparity between two halves of the same soul.

5) Neither of you has an ounce of fear.

Not of death, disease, failure, suffering or poverty. Such fear is present in all of us at some point. But fear of the other person’s cruelty or infidelity. Countless people in relationships stay loyal not out of love but out of fear of being found out. And countless more live in fear that their partner is betraying them behind their back. When either is present, you are with the wrong person.

6) Their touch does not feel foreign.

When kissing or making love, their body will feel like an extension of yours. Sexual or not, their every touch and embrace will be a true comfort to you. The body often acts as a mirror of the soul. If your souls are halves of one, your bodies will feel it too.

7) More than love, respect is shared.

Butterflies in your stomach, or romantic love as we know it, is just chemicals in your brain. That is why lovers are replaceable. Because the same chemical reaction can be triggered by different people. Our brain, and therefore our heart, do not really know the difference. But respect is a conscious choice made by our soul. Someone who can earn our full respect is likely to be the right one.

This list is a mixture of socio-economic, astrological, intellectual and emotional circumstance. But at the end of the day, you will simply know if they are the one.

☿ mercury ☿

Aries mercury ~ the mind of mars learns through visualization; it is through action and motion that the senses are stimulated. mental explosions; ideas are immediately verbalized and the head is afflicted with pains from sensitivity and reactivity to the immediate environment; in extremity, this is war ravaging through the mental faculties. communicative abilities are direct, genuine, inventive, passionate, witty and immediate reactions are set-off in the light of the ego. a pioneering mind venturing onward inspirationally, pointing towards new beginnings

Taurus mercury ~ tree roots wrapped around the brain sprouting into blossoms; shows a grounded, firm, unchangeable, traditional, but obstinate mind like that of roots but also an artistic, poetic, youthful and musical kind of old soul like that of the angelic Venusian blossoms, that learns best through the worldly senses of taste, sight, touch, smell, and hearing, savoring life experiences with underlying nostalgia.

Gemini mercury (☿) ~ thoughts and words come and go breathlessly and as fleetingly as rapid heartbeats, matching the swift fluttering of butterfly wings and the quick godly travel of hermes. the mind is keen, curious, clever, intellectual, versatile and overly alert causing restlessness and inconsistency. The speech and approach to others is friendly, animated, humorous and lively, and the transmission of messages from this position reflects a mind driven by logic rather than intuition as well as an urgency for connectivity and an endless quest for learning. childlike wisdom rests here, where there is always a critical questioning of “why” and a constant activation of creative cerebral surges.

Cancer mercury ~ the mind is receptive, nocturnal, emotional, reflective, and is working through an instinctually subconscious level that reacts with immediate feelings. Reality is distorted in magical moonlight, casting nostalgia, moodiness, and nighttime paranoia but gifts the mind with imagination, mother’s comforting soul words and a psychic sense. the lunar mind learns well through absorbing and listening to others. the memories are coated with wistful and bittersweet emotions that come alive with every instant experience.

Leo mercury ~ the heart is intertwined with the brain, making the words true, lively, loving and passionate. solar flares endow the speech with golden words and the mind with creativity and a vivid perception of reality. The sun seldom has a shadow, yet it certainly does cast one; although this position is prone to being domineering, willful, and self-concerned, the solar spirit is proud, dignified, free-spirited, warm, idealistic and glistening with theatrical displays of creative radiance.

Virgo mercury (☿) ~ the cerebral nerves become focused in this earthy domain, yet there is an nervousness over detail; the eyes are equivalent to magnifying glasses that see what another doesn’t. The trickster nature of mercurial hermes burdens this position with repetitiveness, nitpick, fret and hypersensitivity yet blesses the mind with a thought trend that is cleverly witty, practical, alert, investigative, intellectual, systematic and analytical. The maiden’s voice is kissed with medicinal messages, where healing powers drip  from their words and into another’s broken soul lining. The communication is swift and sharp yet shy and timid at first and the native learns well in any given environment if the concentration isn’t imposed with anxiety tugging at the nerves.

Libra mercury ~ the grasping of reality mimics the justice of the scales; there is an ability to detach oneself from emotional undertones, an internal urge to defend the weak-willed, and an ability to calculate the world through several perspectives. The judgment is clear, diplomatic, impartial and the mind is buzzing with dreamy idealism, aesthetic sense, and able to synthesize oppositions and disputes to middle ground if vacillation is overcome. Makes for a charming and witty chatterer, spilling Venusian sweet song for others to hear.

Scorpio mercury ~ the mind is powerful, sharp, and perceptive of all things unknown working as the master psychologist of the soul. thought course is intensely secretive, willful, intrigued, suspicious, fiercely acute, obsessive, over critical and possesses an intelligent sixth sense. holds unyielding convictions and uses interrogations and investigation to pierce through boundaries and delve into the matters of the psychological, metaphysical, occult and esoteric research.

Sagittarius mercury ~ the spirit has direct contact to the Superconscious through cosmic wisdom, treading through the waters of the universe on a dreamy pilgrimage, the mind filled with shooting stars. The currents of thinking and communication are expansive, moral, skeptical, insightful, inspiring and knowledgeable. The mind is often directionless, impatient and disconnected from the world but sincere, honest and filled with infinite understanding.

Capricorn mercury ~ the messages of hermes are filtered through the child of time where one is reticent in sharing ancient knowledge held firmly in the mind. Saturn weighs heavy upon the perception causing one inclined to intolerance, criticism of the self and others, and sullen sternness as well as an unwilling awareness of one’s own mortality, anxieties and fears. and yet through Saturn the fashion of thought becomes methodical, efficient, logical, disciplined, dignified, concentrative and ultimately crystallized, where the seagoat’s unrest becomes definite and clear from reaching the mountain tops, in due course spawning entry into the sky and beyond.

Aquarius mercury ~ the mind proves to be on a futuristic wavelength where one thinks outside the box, through the box, behind the box, between the box and so forth. There is a inclination to progressive societal matters, making the character good-natured, equal and universal. Uranian electrical currents presents the mind with surges of innovative concepts, intelligent comprehension, brilliant analysis, quick thinking, witty remark, and resourceful intuition yet may destabilize the mind with the spirit of the mad scientist, where ideas and perception are incomprehensible, offensively shocking, temperamental, fleeting and willfully intuned with one’s own perception as opposed to others.

Pisces mercury ~ perception of reality is seen through a dewy gaze beneath the sea’s surface, where the thought shift is molded into a beautiful mist of imagination, empathy, sensitivity, psychic receptivity, and adaptability of environment. The way of speech is poetical, wistful, and mysterious yet conversely, it is paranoid, misunderstood, vague and unclear. Reasoning abilities are not strong here as the mind works through the emotions and extreme instinctual receptors. Neptunian waters can fill the mind with wakeful dreams where one is inclined to escape into the subconscious womb and yet also creates a visionary trend, where one is inclined to hopefulness, compassion and unlocking healing powers.

It’s Official - We’re Headed To Do Science On The Sun! ☀️

It’s official - we’re headed to do science on the Sun! ☀️

At 11:03 p.m. EST on Sunday, Feb. 9, Solar Orbiter, an international collaboration between the European Space Agency and NASA, launched aboard United Launch Alliance’s #AtlasV rocket for its journey to our closest star. The spacecraft will help us understand how the Sun creates and controls the constantly changing space environment throughout the solar system. The more we understand about the Sun’s influence on the planets in our solar system and the space we travel through, the more we can protect our astronauts and spacecraft as we journey to the Moon, to Mars and beyond. More here.

Omg I love Donnie Darko! But I could never quite understand the ending. You know I reckon he’s either an aqua sun with a Scorpio moon or maybe a Scorpio with a Capricorn moon

Oooou!!! I love these placements you guys are giving him! And it was such a sublime film! I adore the symbolism! I feel like what he really wanted in the end was to die so that’s why out of any moment he could’ve chosen he chose to be in his room when the engine fell into his room! I think that’s a big reason behind the smile at the end!

And an aqua sun with a Scorpio moon makes so much sense! I think he was a cancer rising with Aquarius stellium in his 8th house which to me explains his obsession with death and concepts of intimacy

I’m a cis-gender man which basically means that, when I was born, the doctor went “It’s a boy!” and when I was old enough to understand I agreed with him.

The thing is, I don’t know why I feel like a man.  I was teased and bullied for it a lot when I was little.  I’ve never had stereotypically American male interests.  I never cared about sports or cars or guns.  I was more interested in music and cooking and the arts.  I’ve always been emotionally in tune and sensitive, even when I did my best to suppress my emotions to survive a childhood of abuse from other children.

It’s not physical either.  I don’t feel like a man because I have a penis or a beard.  If you put my brain in a robot body or any other body, my essence would still feel male (I assume).  I literally can’t imagine what being any other gender would feel like, since I feel so acutely male.

I think that’s why the concept of being transgender always made sense to me.  I’m a man.  I don’t have any bloody clue why I feel like a man, but I don’t feel that it’s tied to my body or my interests or the way that I’ve been treated.  I feel like a man because of something beyond that.  Something ephemeral.  So, why couldn’t others feel the same?  Why couldn’t a person who’s been misidentified as a girl feel like a boy for the exact same nebulous reasons that I do?

And, since gender really doesn’t make any sense to me anyway, why couldn’t there also be people who feel as if they don’t have one?  Or who flow across genders like a ship on a map?

Are there people out there whose sense of their own gender is inseparable from their physical form?  If you put those people into robot bodies or, simply, other physically different bodies, would their gender identity also swap?  If so, why?  Are they actually more lost in their gender identity than I am and they need to hone in on the physical in order to anchor themselves?

Why do people feel like they are the gender that they are?

Astro Notes Part XVI

Signs on the house cusps within 2 or even 3 degrees of the next house cusp can be interpreted as falling into the next house. For instance, if your 8th house begins at 17 degrees Cancer and ends at 27 degrees Gemini and your 9th house begins at 28 degrees Gemini and your Venus is in 26 degrees Gemini, your Venus can be interpreted as falling into either the 8th or 9th house, but you may feel it fits better in the 9th house and readings of Venus in the 9th may better address your own expressions of Venus. Signs on the 7th house (your descendant) are often signs you may be friends with. Signs on the 4th house can feel like home to you, for good or bad. For instance, if your IC is in Taurus and you have Moon or Venus in the 4th, Taurus suns may be pleasant to you and you may have an affiliation with them or feel amiable in their presence. If you have harsher outer planets such as Saturn or Uranus, or Mars or Pluto in the 4th, your relationship with Taurus suns may be unpleasant or combative and discordant, and you may find yourselves in a lot of pain or conflict with them and even be encumbered with great losses and emotional whiplash that reminds you of an emotionally difficult or turbulent childhood. These people may arouse a lot of emotion or anger from you. They may be very negative sources of energy in your life. People with sun signs that match your 10th house or midheaven/MC may be your mentors and help you find your way or path in life. They can be very instrumental to your success and connect you with people that will help elevate and establish you in society. They can bolster your reputation, or, alternatively, ruin it if Pluto is present in the natal birth chart of the native in this area. People with sun signs of your 1st house/rising sign/ascendant or 8th house may bring you a lot of intensity and strife, intense feelings that may be toxic or draining. You may find yourself in parasitic relationships with these people where both of you learn something from the other. These relationships are often very karmic and serve as lessons that improve your growth. Your relationships with these people may be long-term but unhealthy, toxic, detrimental to your being, all-encompassing and consuming, and hard to break free from. They may arouse much pain and struggle within you. They may introduce you to toxic substances or addictions. There may be an element of friction or codependency. Scorpio moons want to be seen but only on their terms. Hate anything invasive. Hate feeling interviewed or giving interviews. Hate explaining their choices. Often has a hidden motive or agenda. Calculating. Brainstorms. Long-term plans. Concrete goals. Determination. Iron will. May conceal their intelligence and surprise you with it. Very, very smart, not necessarily academic, may struggle in classroom settings. Good at street smarts and life skills. Knows how to protect themselves verbally, emotionally, and physically. Will fight you or kick your ass if your hurt them or someone they love. Protectors: very protective of those they care about. Great liars, but may be very honest, brutally so at times. Threatening. Willful. Always in pursuit of something. Likes order and security. Scorpio suns like to be the villain sometimes. They will purposefully piss people off to see how much power they have over them. They go against the grain a lot. They like to test people and get reactions from them. It makes them feel powerful and in control. Many are control freaks. They like to bait, provoke you, and spark debate. Push your buttons. Other’s anger excites them. It’s like foreplay. Often are attracted to people they fight with. Love to argue. May follow an argument with makeup sex or angry sex, especially if Venus or Mars or mercury or Pluto is in Scorpio. Likes to push their limits and the limits of others. Doesn’t take no for an answer. Often coerces or manipulates others into doing what they want. Perceptive. Highly observant. Tactical. Good at chess (emotionally), in terms of strategy. Always has a plan and a backup plan. Strategical geniuses.

When someone’s sun is conjunct your north node, the relationship is typically positive and enlightening. They may be inspirational and inspire you or help you to discover who you are in this lifetime. They may be essential to your journey and help your soul transform. They may introduce you to hobbies or organizations that help you thrive and know yourself. You may find part of your identity in them. When someone’s sun falls into your seventh house, you can lose yourself in them. Your own identity becomes suppressed under theirs. You may forfeit vital parts of who you are, trying to change yourself to be who they need or want you to be. They may force you to change or take advantage of you. You may feel like you can’t live without them. When your sun or Venus falls into someone else’s 6th house in synastry, they may become part of your daily routine or vice versa. You may attend to their physical, emotional, and habitual needs. You can become inseparable or be homebodies. You may become emotionally attached to them. For Venus opposite Uranus, relationships or connections can be very spontaneous. They may meet someone once & have a special connection with them but never see them again, or run into someone who significantly changes the course of their life or directs them to a pursuit or career, & never intimately know them. Venus square Uranus may find themselves with flighty partners who are emotionally absent or disappear from time to time. Relationships may be rocky or unstable at times. May be conflict-prone or challenging. May go through many ups and downs, wrenches, change of plans/direction, and life stressors and challenges. One partner’s work may take them across the country, away, or overseas for months at a time. One person may have the emotional or financial burden of keeping the family together. One partner may struggle with unemployment or have an inconsistent source of income or constantly be changing jobs or working odd jobs. May not have a stable, predictable source of income. Partner may be in jail or hospitalized for physical or mental health issues. Partner may have financial responsibility of their own family & keep them afloat in addition to caring & helping provide for their fellow partner. They may constantly have to travel to be with their partners or spend time away from them for long periods. Relationships can be lengthy & time-consuming. One or both partners may have to make sacrifices. May travel the world together. May live in separate homes, states, counties, countries, or continents from a partner. For instance, one partner may live in Oregon while the other lives in Minnesota, or one partner may live in Japan while the other lives in Canada. They may be together for only parts of the year or half, or split their time between two places. May struggle to make it work. May be separated geographically by distance, or by way of emotional distance. May have unconventional relationships. Blended family. Step or half children & parents. May be married but not be in a relationship with said spouse but still live in the same house, or may be married & live separately in one house while their partner lives in another house. May be married but not sleep in the same bed at night. One person may sleep on the couch. May be married & divorced several times. May never marry. May have a unique or special arrangement with romantic partners. May be non-monagmous or have open, non-exclusive relationships. May be swingers. May date creatives or nomads. For instance, may date a hippie or a starving/struggling artist or commissioner. Scorpio moons need to feel strong. They hate to be called weak or be accused of pussyfooting and will just say the truth aloud without tact or sensitivity sometimes. Others can find their bluntness refreshing. Don’t really care that it may hurt others’ feelings. Secretly sensitive. Doesn’t like to be wrong. Can rarely admit defeat or confess to being wrong. May retaliate or be emotionally or verbally aggressive or abusive. Emotional bullies sometimes.

When someone’s planets fall into your 12th house, they can bring you either intense pain or intense healing. Either way, they will have a remarkable, life-changing impact on your life. They can cause you to suffer greatly or lift you up and save you from your own demons. They can worsen your demons and trigger you or cause you to self-destruct, or you can self-destruct in the process of trying to save them. You may seclude yourself. They may jeopardize your emotional and physical safety and isolate you from loved ones. You may follow them into the rabbit-hole like Alice in Wonderland, into the abyss, a downward spiral, a storm, a cliff, the unknown, the wild/wilderness, the tornado of doom, a sea of blackness, sucked into the void or black hole, and be swallowed utterly, never found or recovered. They may suffocate your light or life. With this placement, it is common to see partners stuck in abusive or codependent relationships. Partners may enable each other or do drugs together or stifle each other’s growth. Uranus in the 4th or 7th house in synastry is very erratic. Relationships may be very unstable. Can begin or end very abruptly. May be love at first sight. Partners may change gradually after the honeymoon period. When it’s good, it’s good, when it’s bad, it’s really bad type of situation. Relationship may be on and off or fraught with struggle. May be limiting or controlling. Partners may restrict or suppress one another’s freedom, or alternatively, crave too much freedom or independence. Home life for the couple may be always changing, always moving houses, etc. May relocate. Move in together. Break up. Date other people. Get back together. Move in again. Break up within a couple of months. Rinse and repeat. A vicious cycle. Can’t seem to make it work/stay together or stay broken up/apart. Can’t live with one another or without one another. Separate often. May stay stuck in this pattern until one of them permanently moves on or marries someone else. Taurus suns, Aries moons, or some Pisces suns, especially those with Aries Venus, may treat their partners as their property: mine. They can’t handle feeling like someone else is moving in on their territory or watching someone they know hang out or spend time with someone they think is theirs and theirs only. They hate to share. May be controlling at times. Taurus moons may treat their partners as prizes to show off. May be proud of them. Leo, Taurus, and Scorpio moons like to show off their partners, but may also be intensely private & protect or guard their relationship from the world & be less public. They may rarely talk about their partners publicly or publicly express or demonstrate support for them. Scorpio moons may have anger issues or unresolved emotional wounds and trauma that manifest themselves in and hinder or ruin/damage their relationships. the moon can hold a great attraction for us. if someone does not reflect our moon we can be drawn to them because it is ~strange~ to us

moon in aries: …this person does not like confrontation? how do…i…??

moon in virgo: …this person doesn’t need me? that’s……what???

moon in aquarius: …this person is unwavering? but….but!!!?????

moon in pisces: …this person doesn’t care about fantasy? um…that’s…???

a beginner’s guide to being a flower:

sit in the sunlight. try to go outside and let the sun wash over your skin at least once a day. open the curtains to let the light in. let the sun whisper secrets to you.

drink water. flowers need water to thrive, and so do you. keep water by your side and sip periodically throughout the day. we are born from water, we are filled with it- water is an important part of you.

stay rooted. regard the present moment for what it is: your own.

use fertilizer. fertilizer comes in all different forms. some of us need help being fertilized, so do what helps you grow and seek the help you need.

love the earth. the earth gives life to all of us. walk barefoot in the grass. plant flowers. recycle. reduce your footprint.

remember that rot is a part of life. without rot and decay, the soil would not be fertile and things could not grow. if you are struggling, keep growing.

love your petals. they are yours. dress yourself in what makes you happy- look the way you like to look. if you can’t garb your physical self the way you want to, decorate your inner space with things that bring you joy: music, mantras, poems, books, films, anything that you can hold in your heart.

remember you are always growing. sometimes the person you are at present isn’t the person you want to be: you may be growing crookedly, you may have lost a leaf or a petal, you may be transplanted to a place that is inhospitable. remember that all of life is a process. you are never the same tomorrow as you were yesterday. you are constantly regenerating and growing. change is a gift.

nurture yourself. you are a flower! treat yourself as you would treat a tiny blossom. flowers need special care. they need to be loved and looked after- be your own gardener.

“you think you’re in love and this is the one and this is it. you may be right, but before you move heaven and earth and split the sea down the middle to make it work, take their hand in yours, turn the lights off, turn your computers and phones and the tv off. shut yourself off from the world. is this someone you can sit with in the darkness? is this someone you can sit with in silence? is this someone you can spend hours doing nothing else but counting the distance between lightning and thunder? because life is more than a forever of picture perfect moments - it’s darkness, and silence and interludes in which you hold your breath. forever should not feel like forever, it should feel like no time at all; it should feel like a blink of an eye; an interlude between the lightning strike and a thunder.”
