btw there's so much discourse on my feed rn and I think I need some people to just step off of tumblr and meet people outside their circles. Does wonders for you btw x
it's kind of a you problem if you read "this is a problem that also affects me" and assume it to mean "i only care about this problem because it affects me. i would not care if it only affected you"
i've seen this a lot more often in reference to anti-trans legislature recently. people acting as though only trans women will be affected by it and then getting mad at trans men and nonbinary people for daring to mention we're also negatively impacted by it
can we just have a community please. i want a community. can we not fight over who has it worse all the time and just give eachother support
I'm gonna be real with you and say that it's not really progressive when you see black characters/POC coded characters and instantly talk about how cool they are because they piss of bigots.
I'm sorry but like, can I draw the joy of myself and my racial identity without thinking about how politicized my existence is Thanks.
I love you trans men . You're not alone . We have community and connection and we can get through this time<3
Don't let the haters and transandrophobes get you down, you are valid, and loved, and your lived experiences should be recognized and respected
In the end it boils down to people feeling a hell of a lot more comfortable being disgustingly misogynistic towards trans men/mascs and nonbinary people because they think the fact that they don’t identify as women excludes them from it, and can easily hide behind calling you a transphobe if you call them out on it
When someone makes transition all about passing. Ok, if your goal is passability, good for you but don't force it on other people. I hear it all the time: "What is trasition fpr if not passing? What is the point?" Or "If you don't want to pass you aren't trans" True trans liberation can only be achieved when we stop attributing gender and sex to external characteristics, this involves dismantling the concept of passability. Even if "passing" was something easy that any binary trans person could achieve, what about us, nonbinary? How do we externally communicate we are polygender, ambonec, agender, maverique?
this is exorsexism.
Frankly we all should have multiple names. We contain many multitudes and vibes and just one is too limiting
Hi! IDK if you know but the text selection colour on your blog theme is white-on-white, or at least an extremely light gray on white. IDK how familar you are with theme customisation, but if you look at the root of your theme, there should be a "::selection" block where you can change them to be more contrasting colours.
Thank you for pointing this out, I'll see if I can up the contrast!
“I don’t get it, do trans men want to be treated like men (read: like cis men) or not? We treat them like men and they complain, but if we treated them like women they would also complain. I don’t get it!”
How’s about not treating different genders of people differently solely because of their gender?
Why do you treat men and women differently?
Is that not the exact cis patriarchy we’re trying to do away with?
It definitely shouldn’t escape anyone’s notice that the majority of “transandrophobia isn’t real and tme/tma language is good actually” people are white. Like there is very much something to be said about a complete lack of awareness of non-white queer people existing, whether they acknowledge it or not. I know full well that everyone posting “trans men are just whiny little uwu soft babies complaining about nothing” are imagining a monolith of trans men/mascs who are all white and will not acknowledge the intersections of oppression that trans moc face. “All trans men have power over cis and trans women” even when the women in question are white. When asked about transphobia facing trans poc, they will mention maybe one or two black trans women they’re able to name to make themselves look like they care about black issues and never mention a single other trans person of colour. Quick, average white tumblr user, name a single black trans man. Name a single black trans male or non-binary artist right now.
