Today I survived an attempted stabbing, I am highly traumatized and not coping well. I had to lean on family to get a ticket out of here for my partner and I but I still need $200 for taxi/ubers to get out of here on the 6th

Hi. I am the proud mother of my beautiful daughter, grace helbet. At two weeks old, my daughter was diagnosed with sickle cell , my daughter almost died due to complications from this disease. She suffered ALOT, but the worst were the THREE strokes to the brain. She had to learn how to do everything over again and of course this required me being off of work. Because of the strokes she now has to have chronic transfusions. I was a teacher with BENEFITS to where if she was sick I could still get paid because I was on salary and had FML. But because she is disabled, the government said I made too much money and that if she was cut off her disability check she would lose her insurance. I wasnāt concerned about the money because I am able to work. But I am not able to pay for her medical expenses out of pocket and I was forced to resign so that my child could get the care she needed. My job had Blue Cross Blue Shield which would have been $200 to add her and it only allowed three hospital visits per year and if you are familiar with sickle cell, they stay in and out of the hospital. So that wouldnāt work. I got evicted because I was unable to work . now over 6 months i don't have job . No groceries. Bills past due and broke has me so down. An assist of any kind is such a blessing. Iām currently struggling with hospital bills and food. I need rent and food money and enough to cover my cats medicine if my mum doesnāt agree to help (we have to go to the vet on June 18th at 11am to pick up his medicine and pay there.) If anyone can help, I have to start paying rent and cover my own food costs (which Iāve already done for two years) from Tuesday if Iām to stay in my parents house. I turn nineteen this year and my parents made me drop out of school so I donāt have any qualifications and Iāve never been accepted in jobs.
Someone very kindly gave me money earlier in the week towards cat food and Iām so happy to say I have enough food to feed him until about Saturday (3rd of June) but help towards that would be amazing too, his cat food costs 13Ā£ for dry food and 4.50Ā£ for wet food. We have some dry food left for him but he eats Nood which is a really good one for his stomach (he suffers with IBD and his medical bills get pretty expensive (up to 150Ā£ a month for checkups and medicine) but my mum currently covers those but Iām not sure if sheāll stop doing that.
Literally anything will help me at this moment, standard cost of food a week is about 20-30Ā£ for me and rent is about 60Ā£ a week (I know itās 260Ā£ a month for me to stay at home because that cost also goes towards electric and gas.)

I donāt have enough money to buy my cat any food, heās nearing the end of the bag of food we have, he has IBD and can only eat certain foods so we give him Nood biscuit and felix kitten pouches because itās easier on his stomach but we donāt have any pouches left and we have enough dry food to maybe last three days but I donāt want to have to ration his food.

I say this with my whole heart, please donate your clothes to women's prisons instead of thrift stores.
When these women are released, some have been incarcerated for like 16 years. Nothing fits them, they are released with no money, and something to know about incarcerated women is that their family members are more likely to cut ties with them in comparison to incarcerated men.
An incarcerated woman said to me today that she's so scared because she will have no real outfits when she's released. She doesn't know what she's going to do.
If you're a man even to you, please donate your clothes to women's prisons. The women will be so happy to wear your clothes. Especially things like workwear.
You can look up your nearby women's prison and give them a call. Some of them have programs like clothing closets that people can donate to. I recommend contacting women's prison camps and minimum security facilities because typically these are the facilities that women get transferred to when they don't have as much time left on their sentences.
