ok last thing. but what people fundamentally need to get through their heads is the significance of gaza fundraisers not being the same as like mutual aid when you're helping someone get groceries, because it is a genocide. there is insane deliberate scarcity and prices are unmanageable, because there is nowhere nearly enough for everyone, so only people who can pay can eat. and what positioning individual fundraisers as the only course of action does is quite simply give a tiny percentage of random people whose fundraisers take off the ability to pay those prices while thousands of others can't. and every one of those thousands of people without a fundraiser is suffering through the same inconceivably horrific reality. it is giving a few completely desperate people out of hundreds of thousands a slightly more favorable position in a horrific war economy of imposed scarcity. and what grassroots community kitchens do is try to mitigate in some small way that inconceivable hierarchy of who can pay and who can't, by stretching ingredients as far as they can last to cook meals at large scale and give them out at no cost. and obviously people are still going to send money to their friends and families because this is hell what else are we supposed to do but please just think about that before promoting endless individual fundraisers as somehow the most ethical way to help

Avery is tired.

grinding for gaza while trying to keep my sanity intact. i'm just here on tumblr writing post after post, asking, begging for donations, for help. i craft these words carefully hoping someone somewhere might care enough to hit that reblog button or send a few dollars. then i go hunting for the tagging list hoping someone with a bigger reach than me will help amplify my voice because seriously what else can i do? message after message, waiting for a reply, a reblog, anything. the silence is deafening. i wait for the donation notification to pop up like it’s some kind of life raft. maybe just maybe it’ll float my family out of this hell. but mostly i’m sitting here clicking, praying, hoping while my phone keeps buzzing with more bad news. sighs deeply. well back to the grind i guess. shuffle away quietly. maybe trip on a rock this time. who knows.

Late night adventures with your 'friend' (Pt 1.)

TW: Suggestive, Evan question his sexuality by experimenting with his 'friend' *wink wink* (Idk where I'm going with this one chat.)

A glimpse into Avery and Evan's past.

It's 1999 in Reseda, California, and safe to say, it's hot. So what better way is there to cool off than by going to the pool? A good idea, it would have been, if it was day time.

But no, Avery had different plans.

Now Evan's questioning his life decisions at exactly 11:23 PM, watching his 'friend' scale the wall of a flimsy fence to get into a locked pool. He's sort of scared.

It's not the idea of getting caught he's afraid of, oh no. He's afraid of what he might do, spending all that time alone with Avery.

“I’m not so sure about this, Avery.” 

Evan glanced at the CLOSED AFTER 5:00PM  sign that was stuck on the wired fence, before glancing back at his watch, which read 11:22 PM.  

It was safe to say that the pool was closed. 

 That didn’t stop Avery from attempting to scale the fence of the closed off pool, though. Keep in mind, attempting.

He cringed, watching his friend continue to misplace his foot, slip, and flail his legs around for the third time in a row. It was horrifically entertaining. 

Avery huffed, his breath heavy. “Trust me on this one Evan, I’ve done this tons of times.” He took a deep breath before resuming his attempt to break in.

Evan sighed, slumping his back on to the flimsy wired fence, which caused Avery to slip once again, which he didn’t seem to notice. 

“We should just head back to yours, I’m kind of craving some of your mom’s home cooked meals right now.”

Evan did not want to stay here any longer. He was kind of getting creeped out, the soft blue light emanating from the pool contrasting the pitch dark they were surrounded by. Even the sidewalk seemed ominous. The sidewalk lamps were dimly light, most flickering from the lack of care. The flash light Avery gave did not comfort him.

“As if!” Avery scoffed.Now having made some progress, he sat on the top of the fence, his hands placed beside him on the cold metal pipe that was providing him with support. “I know you’re just gonna to try to hit on my mom, you ass!”

Evan cheeks burned red, his lie caught, turning his back to Avery in embarrassment at the accusation. “Shut up! You can’t blame me for wanting to stay at home!” 

 Avery rolled his eyes at his friend, slowly hopping off the pipe, carelessly placing his foot on weak wire.

 “C’mon, it’ll be rad, trust me-” CRASH. 

Evan turned around, his eyes wide, searching for Avery on the top of the fence, who was nowhere in sight. He panicked before hearing Avery’s cracked voice.

“I’m fine!” 

Evan looked down, seeing Avery sprawled upon the floor. He probably lost his footing attempting to climb down. Maybe wearing flip flops was a bad idea Avery. 

“Dumb ass.”

The tanned boy stood up, dusted his crusty jorts with a bloody knee that was quite visible. He gave a thumbs up to his friend on the other side, which was met with an eye roll. 

“Just open the damn gate dude.”

Avery's back is dripping in sweat, staining the bed covers along with his pillow. The fan's on the highest speed and the windows are open. Despite all of his attempts to cool down, the room was still burning hot, his vision hazy from the heat. Summers in Florida are not for the weak.

It would probably help if Evan stopped sticking to him like a rat in a glue trap.

"Evan I swear to god, get off of me." Avery groaned attempting to push his lover away from him. In response, Evan pulled him in closer, his eyes still closed, his lips slightly upturned.

"Babe, my back is literally dripping in sweat."

"Don't care."
